Had Obama given high school classmate a haircut, would narrative have been about how you can “make mistakes and still recover”?

In an interview during his Senate race” in 2004, reported Lois Romano of the Washington Post in 2007, “Obama said he admitted using drugs because he thought it was important for ‘young people who are already in circumstances that are far more difficult than mine to know that you can make mistakes and still recover.’”

Now, to be sure, Mitt Romney grew up under far more fortunate circumstances than Mr. Obama, but one wonders that if the legacy media had investigated something troubling in that latter’s past, they would have spun it as the Democrat spun his cocaine use.

Mitt Romney may or may not have given his high school classmate a haircut (in a bullying manner).  He has long since stopped pulling adolescent pranks.  Given his stable marriage and an adulthood filled with abundant acts of kindness for individual in need, Mitt Romney has quite obviously become a better person these past 47 years.  So too has Barack Obama since his high school years.

Had the Washington Post bothered to report Mr. Obama’s adolescent antics, one wonders if they would have covered it as they covered his cocaine use, stressing his ability to recover from mistakes — and casting his process of maturing as an example for young people to follow.

  1. “He has long since stopped pulling adolescent pranks.”

Well I certainly hope so, since he’s 65 years old.

As for any complaint about biased coverage of Romney’s young life vs. Obama’s, one major difference is that Obama told about at least some of his mistakes rather than it coming from a former schoolmate. If you tell the story on yourself, you have more control over how it reflects upon you. Though to be fair, since Romney says he doesn’t remember bullying that kid, if he did it, it did not weigh heavily enough on his conscience for him to either remember it or to feel the need to report it about himself.

  2. No, the narrative would not have been about how one can “make mistakes and still recover” because in Obama’s case, such an assault would be characterized as the inevitable result of a brilliant and promising young man reaching his boiling point due to all the pressure placed on him as a racial outsider trying to exist among the rich, white, privileged elite. The MSM would peddle the story (as they do all stories about Obama) with him as the hero triumphing over seemingly insurmountable odds. The student he assaulted would quickly dissolve into the background of the rich and beautiful tapestry that IS Obama’s struggle to exist in this hateful, racist world.

Romney is the diabolical villain in the story and his acts are inexcusable and unforgivable because to him, the world has been TOO KIND.

Obama would be breathlessly lionized as the hero of the story and his acts would be pronounced excusable and justified because to him, the world HAS NOT BEEN KIND ENOUGH.

  3. And also, really? Look what Barack Obama and his supporters like the bigot JennofArk are writing TODAY about people:

Dan Blatt is a loathsome piece of sh*t who will sell out other gay people in order to curry the favor of straight Republicans who pat him on the head every now but then call him a c*ck-sucking heels-in-the-air fudge-packed girlie-boy behind his back (even though only the girlie-boy part is actually true). Dan says all this stuff because the probability that any gay man would ever give enough of a sh!t about Dan to visit him in a hospital, much less to have a relationship with him, is remote — as remote as the possibility that Dan will ever have sex with anyone other than a blind leper in a darkened truck stop in rural Alabama, and even then the leper will have to down a fifth of Jack Daniel’s before he can bring himself to do it. F*ck you, Dan, you wretched, illiterate prick.

I mean, Barack Obama’s supporters like JennofArk and her ilk even tell gays who don’t obey the Obama Party to kill themselves.

  4. NDT – you continue to confuse me with Tintin.

Also, you continue to call me a bigot, while continuing to fail to support that characterization with anything. As I noted several days ago, “bigot” does not mean “someone who makes you look foolish on the internet.”

Finally, your response is, as usual, an ad hominem which fails to respond to anything I actually wrote. It’s like a pavlovian thing with you.

  5. No confusion at all, Jenn; you support and endorse Tintin and the comments he makes about Dan.

And with that in mind, when one considers what you support and endorse, your hypocrisy becomes blatantly obvious. You would have an aneurysm if Romney had written that about a gay person, but when it’s yourself and your fellow Obama supporters, you clap and cheer.

And that is what makes you a blind hatemongering bigot. You, like your Barack Obama, even endorse and support murdering people based on their political affiliation.

  6. Sweet christ, can you ever make a point? Because, you know, when you have to lie to try to make it, you haven’t made a point – you’ve just told another lie.

A sentence that reads “h/t to Tintin for pointing to this article” is not an “endorsement,” it is a “credit” as in, “I credit Tintin for drawing this to my attention.” Please cite, if you will, ANY commentary made about Tintin’s post. It doesn’t exist. It just says, thanks Tintin for pointing out this article.

You are more in need of a dictionary than any person I’ve ever seen. You do not understand the meanings of very common words. If you’ll post your address, I’ll take up a collection and buy a dictionary and mail it to you, since obviously you aren’t skilled enough to find or use a dictionary online and learn the meanings of the words you use most frequently, such as “bigot.” No, mary, it DOESN’T mean “someone who disagrees with me.” It has an actual, you know, DEFINITION which is very much at odds with your use of it. Just as “endorsement” and “referendum” have definitions you can’t seem to grasp.

A wise man once said, it is better to keep your mouth shut and appear to be stupid than to open it and remove all doubt. At this point, you’ve stuck your foot so far into your mouth that you’ve swallowed your leg up to the knee.

No, it doesn’t. It says this:

*hat tip to Tintin at Sadly, No! for keeping us up-to-date on Gay Patriot’s latest public self-flagellation.

When one recognizes that Bigot Jenn can’t even read and accurately quote her own posts, what becomes fully obvious is that Bigot Jenn is a desperate, unprincipled liar who will say and do anything to get what she wants, including such hateful speech as previously reported.

  8. I didn’t need to go back and look at the post since I already knew what I had said, which was to simply credit Tintin for pointing out the piece. I note that again you fail to point up any “endorsement” of Tintin’s column. Thanks for clipping the exact quote and posting it though, since it underlines again that you’re either illiterate or just a plain old liar (though a combination of the two is most likely), and again, congratulations on an own-goal brilliantly executed!

Well, clearly you did, since you got it wrong.

I note that again you fail to point up any “endorsement” of Tintin’s column.

Again, there are none so blind as those who will not see.

If I were illiterate, I wouldn’t be able to write here, much less read what you were saying and respond to it. Perhaps you ought to get a dictionary yourself.

Of course, once again, the bigot Jenn thinks that, if she just screams loud enough, she will get her way, no matter how infantile and stupid her words are. After all, she’s done it her entire life, screamed and cried and stomped her feet and demanded that people give her special perks because she’s female and liberal.

Nope. Made a fool out of you, bigot, and pointed out how you scream about “bullying” even as you and your fellow Obama supporters post this:

Dan Blatt is a loathsome piece of sh*t who will sell out other gay people in order to curry the favor of straight Republicans who pat him on the head every now but then call him a c*ck-sucking heels-in-the-air fudge-packed girlie-boy behind his back (even though only the girlie-boy part is actually true). Really shows your character, Jenn. Really shows how you and your fellow Obama-supporting bigots treat people right here, right now.

And that’s why being judged based on your character rather than your gender scares you sh*tless.

  10. Last response, because everyone knows you’re a liar and there’s no need to continue wasting time proving it over and over again. But I just wanted to note how you ran away from the thread in which you kept insisting that full faith & credit was a bogus ground for challenge of DOMA. I can’t help but point out that you never did explain, if that is indeed the case, why DOMA was ever passed in the first place.

Now run away little liar, I’ll respond to you BS no more. I might as well be talking to someone who only speaks Japanese; such is your grasp of English words and their meanings.

Wrong. You just chose not to read it.

Actually, that’s being kind. You clearly ran away from it, since you posted following it in the thread.

    Comment by North Dallas Thirty — May 15, 2012 @ 6:39 pm - May 15, 2012

  12. Why would anyone read anything linked by a liar? They never say what you claim they say; in fact they usually say the opposite.

And again, I notice you can’t explain why anyone ever felt the need to pass DOMA in the first place, if full faith and credit is such a non-issue.

    Later, liar!

    Comment by JennOfArk — May 15, 2012 @ 6:41 pm - May 15, 2012

  13. Actually, we’re already aware that you don’t read or research; that’s why I’ve repeatedly made a fool of you here.

Your making excuses for your failure to read and your cowardice just demonstrates how desperate you are to avoid facts and maintain your bigotry.
