If Barack Obama didn’t have the legacy media on his side. . .

. . . he’d stand no chance of being reelected.

  2. And in other late-breaking news, the sky is blue and the sun rises in the east. Film at 11.

    Sorry, couldn’t resist. 😉

But Dr. Dan has a point – who else in the history of this nation has been able to bend the MSM to his/her will? Nobody I can think of.

Bunch of sloppy lapdogs in the press room is all they are.

Bill Clinton. The only difference then was that the MSM made SOME EFFORT to conceal their bias. Now, the MSM doesn’t bother. They are happy to act as palace guards for the Obama regime and they don’t care that the cat’s out of the bag. The fact that conservatives KNOW that they’re partisan hacks & liars doesn’t bother them. The only thing that DOES bother them is that they’re finally being held accountable by the citizen journalists mobilized and inspired by Andrew Breitbart. The seething hatred they have for Breitbart & the people carrying on his legacy is truly frightening.

  4. I would add that it goes way beyond Obama and Clinton, which are incredible examples of a biased MSM.

What coservative could get away with killing a young lady, in his car while driving drunk? Could a republican VP candidate have a raging affair and have the MSM know about it and not expose it? Can you just imagine if George Bush even hinted about using atomics to end a war – well a democrat did and the democrats didn’t spend much time in the woodshed. I can only think what the MSM would have done if a republican president schemed to get us into a war to end a lengthy recession/depression – well a democrat did, and spent no time in the MSM woodshed. The MSM excoriated Reagan for that horrible of all wars he started with Grenada – imagine if he had started WW3 to climb out of the Carter depression!!!

The silly points I am making is that this is NOTHING new – and it is not going to stop any time soon. We can only hope that the rest of the MSM suffers the same disease that CNN has: no viewers.

  5. And yet lefties will claim, with an apparently straight face, that the media is biased to the right… because it’s owned by corporations… who sit around in their corporation buildings and act all… corporationy.

I don’t know whether they are deluded enough to believe that line of crap, or if they really know the MFM are overt propagandists for the DNC, and so they

  6. just spout a throwaway line that no one will buy anyway, because putting any real effort into defending the MFM would be a waste of time.

  7. What I can’t believe is that anyone remains fooled by the blatant bias anymore, but sadly many do. Although I had a passive knowledge of media bias before, I really woke up to its true nature during the Clinton years, particularly during the Lewinski scandal. Ever since then it has seemed to intensify in its obviousness. The lame-stream media these days is like a parody of itself.

  11. @ V the K: oddly enough, in my college sociology class the professor brought up the media bias (not sure if he agreed with it or not), but some wise a*s political science major chimed in and said that it was a lie.

  15. IMO even with the legacy media ON his side, he stand’s no chance of being elected barring some incredible unforseen catastrophe for Romney or some miracle for Obama.

I do not believe that this election will be nearly as close as many pundits expect. IMO we will see a strong variant of the Bradley effect. Because of Obama’s African heritage people will refuse to SAY they’re not voting for him but, in fact, they will NOT vote for him because of the ineptitude his administration has shown over the last 3 years. Of course, the media will call it racist, but by November almost no one will care anymore.

  16. @T: I assume you simply don’t remember the events of 2008, because people were talking about the Bradley effect back then as well, and how Obama wouldn’t do anywhere near as well as the polls suggested he would.

Obama’s predicted lead going in to the 2008 election? 7.6%
Obama’s margin of victory over John McCain? 7.3%

It didn’t happen last election. Why would it suddenly happen this election?
