Wisconsin Democrats Deep Despair with Decision Day Dawning

June 4, 2012 by B. Daniel Blatt

Barely three days before the gubernatorial recall election in the Badger State, an outfit called
the Wisconsin Citizens Media Co-op breaks a story about a(n illegitimate) love child Scott Walker father and left behind.  The next day the Daily Kos (the Daily Kos!) reports that the woman in question denied that the Wisconsin governor fathered her baby.

“The Democrats”, quips John Hinderaker, blogging about the news at Powerline, “are looking down the barrel of a humiliating defeat in Wisconsin’s recall election on Tuesday, so today they played their last card“.  Meanwhile Democrats are talking about some kind of investigation into Governor Scott Walker, leading that good man to say, “The Democrats are desperate. . . . They’ve got nothing else. We’ve answered this question a million different times, and they don’t want to talk about what this recall is really about.”

University of Wisconsin law professor Ann Althouse says that notions that legal cloud supposedly gathering over Walker “less of a cloud of law than a swarm of Democrats“, adding

Desperate Democrats. Embarrassing. You just had a former President appear on behalf of your candidate. Why not a little grace and dignity as you approach the end?

Indeed.

If it’s this bad right now heading into  the Wisconsin recall, can you imagine how it will be come November nationally, particularly if Obama, like the Democrat in the Badger State, is lagging in the polls in the run-up to balloting?

I really can’t imagine how bad November is going to be… Both 2000 and 2004 had really bad Octobet surprises and I can’t imagine what new atrocity the Dems will unveil this time but I am sure that it will be laughable in less than a week.

Romney is certainly not a perfect candidate, but I think one of the great virtues about Romney is that he is boring—in the best sense of the word. Sure, just about anyone can have some skeleton in the closet that is well hidden from virtually everyone, and there could be something really awful about Romney personally we could learn between now and November. But I really, really doubt it. This is likely to be a campaign about ideas, at least from the Republican side. And given the failures of Obama-style liberalism, that’s a great place to be.

The Obama camp will attempt to discredit Romney in the fall, but they won’t try the “Mitt fathered a love child,” scenario. They would be laughed at, even at the New York Times.

Even if Walker is victorious, that is no guarantee this will stop. Remember what they all did to Sarah Palin? And I wouldn’t be surprised if there were multiple October surprises. Maybe they’ll even come up with a First of November surprise, hoping there wouldn’t be time to combat it.

All the yak, yak, yak about the TEA Party having dried up and blown away is not supported by the donations that have poured in to support Walker. The liberals are crying foul because their union money has been way overshadowed.

The liberals are up against a set of principles. They have lied, ignored the fiscal facts, spread vicious rumors, argued against phantom charges of their own invention and continually acted as the bullies.

It was not the Walker people who took over the capitol building and left it with major challenges in repair, cleaning and restoration.

The casual viewer of the evening news likely knows where the problems lie by the actions of the mob.

Why didn’t the 99% get things going their way in Wisconsin?

Why didn’t the 99% get things going their way in Wisconsin?

Short answer: because they’re NOT the “99%.” Conservatives and conservative-leaning moderates, i.e., moderates with some common sense, outnumber so-called “progressives” 3:1 in this country, and we better start acting like it. They just have a bigger megaphone and are better at bullying, and thankfully we on the right are beginning to turn the tide by using their own tactics against them. Ask me if I feel guilty about not taking “the high road.”

I feel the same way. There was an election in Alberta this year, in which a fairly new right-wing party attempted to unseat the incumbent party (a formerly centre-right party that had been drifting to the left) that had been in power for decades. Shortly before the election, the polls showed the new right-wing party with a significant lead, but they ended up losing the election by a wide margin. I really hope that doesn’t happen in Wisconsin, and, given the improbability of that happening, I kind of doubt it will, but you never know (especially if the Democrats do a good job with their get out the vote campaign in cemeteries).

The November election will be the most contentious election most of us will have experienced in our lives. There is simply way to much riding on this election – literally the heart and soul of this great country.

Hannity interviewed David Limbaugh today – his new book is a MUST read. He asked him straight up did he think the country will survive if Obama is re-elected. Limbaugh gave a very simple answer: NO!

One more point. If Obama loses in a close election, then what happened in 2000 with the Gore legal challenge will look like child’s play. The democrats will file law suits in any district, county, city, state that is close. If you remember 2000, then just let your mind wander and consider the impact of 10-15 law suits. That will be the beginning of the end, and it will ALL be about race.

Thus, we MUST have a clear electoral victory. If not, then get ready for Armageddon.

Last point. For those in the stock market – it may not be a bad idea to raise some cash during the coming Summer rally. This election WILL dominate the market like none since Reagan vs. Carter.

What, more contentious than the 2000 election, which was eventually decided on a split Supreme Court decision?

There is simply way to much riding on this election – literally the heart and soul of this great country.

I’ve heard that said about ever US Presidential election since I’ve been politically active (i.e. about 2003). At this point it just reads as a hollow political talking point.

Hannity interviewed David Limbaugh today – his new book is a MUST read. He asked him straight up did he think the country will survive if Obama is re-elected. Limbaugh gave a very simple answer: NO!

The lesson to be learned from this: David Limbaugh is a panicky idiot (“The sky is falling!”) and Sean Hannity is good at exploiting other panicky idiots to get better ratings.

If the Democrats do not stop after the recall, given there have 7 elections in 2 years in Wisconsin, they will keep digging their own grave. People are tired of constant elections. There is election fatigue.

The Democrats have abused the recall in Wisconsin; therefore, the law needs to be changed so it won’t be abused. Essentially, the Democrats want to keep having elections until they’re back in power. This is abuse.

First identify what “this” is so we will know how the cause and effect you are setting up works. As in:

The lesson to be learned from this (…………):

It is beyond all sane reasoning how anyone can use this conclusive lead in to name calling and topic shifting and fact ignoring. Here is what Serenity concluded: “David Limbaugh is a panicky idiot ( …..) and Sean Hannity is good at exploiting other panicky idiots to get better ratings.

The fear and loathing expressed in this “calm” analysis is palpable.

Obama is getting the vetting on his first term that he richly deserves. He seems particularly vulnerable and thin skinned and his socialist cheerleaders would like to make this a “liberal level playing field” using their perspective where Romney must be criticized, but Obama must not be criticized.

Somehow, Serenity believes she has the credibility to set the record “straight” by trashing David Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and every other straw man she shoves in front of us in an effort to hustle Obama to safe harbor behind the curtain where he reads the TeleprompTer and manipulates the handles on the Wizard machine.

    Wow. Just, wow.

Serenity my dear. First, let me point out the following link:http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/opinion
That is Webster’s definition of OPINION, which is all we are doing, since the event in discussion has not happened yet.

If you have a belly button, you are entitled to an opinion. I’ll assume you have one, so opine instead of being the following:http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/snarky?show=0&t=1338924539 This is Webster’s definition of “SNARKY.” Which if you look at the definition, it fits your comments perfectly.

Now to answer some of your “snarky” comments. You ref. the 2000 election. Yes, AFTER the election it became very contentious. But sweetheart, there are two parts to each election. The “before” and the “after.” The opinion thread was about the 6 months LEADING up to the election. And, it is and will be the most contentious you have seen in your long years of experience since 2003. FYI – it wasn’t this bad in Nixon vs, Kennedy, yet Nixon COULD have filed suit for what went on in Chicago in November 1960 – but you were not there, right?

As for David Limbaugh, your snarky opinion is of no value. If you can step out of your little liberal ideological closed minded box and read the book, then your considered opinion would be of value. But, you won’t do that will you? Frightening to open one’s eyes and mind to a differing opinion. Takes real ‘nads to do that, and I guess you don’t have them. No comment needed about Hannity. He chews up and spits out libs every day. He can defend himself.

Now to the use of the word Armageddon. I agree, it is a little over the top. Did you know it’s origin is from Greece http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/armageddon How fitting. Darling, that is EXACTLY what Greece, as well as Spain, Italy, Portugal, and most of the Euro-zone is facing today. They are ALL staring into the abyss of their own little Armageddon. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303830204577448023082690142.html?mod=WSJ_hp_LEFTWhatsNewsCollection

Check the links. Just a couple of stories from WSJ on line.

Serenity, you see, the U.S. debt to GDP ratio under your mocha messiah has this country staring into the same abyss that Greece has been for a year. I could care less whether you agree or not with that analysis. The economic data and facts are perfectly clear, and easy to research. We, Europe, Japan(hit 28 year lows on their stock market last week), China, and a large portion of the globe have way too much economy choking debt. Your mocha messiah doesn’t want to do anything about it but to add MORE debt. Hell, even the French socialists are calling out your messiah:http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_world_business/view/1205746/1/.html

Sweety, grow up and do your own research, and stop eating the progressive pabulum. Have a great day!!!!!!!!

Differing opinions are fine. Some people think four more year of Obama is the better option, some people think a change to Romney would be better, whatever. Different opinions are a fact of life.

But saying that if Obama will win the country won’t even survive? That four more years of Obama means the end of the United States of America? That’s not an opinion, that’s just fearmongering. Just an attempt to scare people into emptying their pockets for the Romney campaign, and the worst thing is that it clearly works because it’s become de rigueur in the American political process now.

Now to the use of the word Armageddon. I agree, it is a little over the top. Did you know it’s origin is from Greece…

Yes, and comparisons to Greece are also completely ludicrous. The United States does not have the same problems with epic levels of tax evasion that Greece had, the United States has a political ecosystem far more conducive to spending cuts than Greece, the United States has not completely lost confidence of the bond markets like Greece has, and (by far the most important factor) the United States has control of its own currency, unlike the Greeks who have found themselves pretty much strangled by being unable to devalue their currency like they always could before to avoid defaulting.

Do bear in mind that I live in the United Kingdom and have recently become an avid reader of The Economist. I’m getting a bona fide blow-by-blow analysis of the Eurozone crisis and the growing debt issues in Japan, so don’t lecture me on research.

You are not staring into the abyss, you are hallucinating, and I wish you would come back to reality for a sane discussion of the sluggish growth, exploding medical costs, and demographic issues that are the long-term problems the United States has which have been buried under mountain of election year rhetoric.

No interest in re-hashing all that has been opined. Can get rather boring. As for The Economist, that is one of you major problems. It is a progressive based magazine, has a very slanted view about economic issues. Not as good as you think. You really should seek out more than one source. Google Prof. Jeremy Siegel from Wharton, and Milton Friedman. Read some of their stuff. If you really want to educate yourself, read the Federalist Papers.

Could care less about what YOU think is economic reality and my hallucinations. Please don’t believe me. But, if you want to be educated on the real U.S. economic problem, UK problems, and other countries then check out these links:
    http://www.usdebtclock.org/
    http://www.usdebtclock.org/world-debt-clock.html

Not my data, not The Economists data – but the REAL economic picture. Please note the really BIG number at the bottom of the first link. That is U.S. Unfunded Debt. Right above it is total U.S. assets. That is no hallucination.

In the second link, please pay special notice to the “External Debt to GDP Ratio.” You will notice every country on the chart over a 100% ratio are all the names we see in the media with real economic problems. Again, these are not my hallucinations. Please notice the USA is at 101%, and your beloved UK is at 488%, and the worst: Ireland is at a whopping 1,247%.

My guess is that you are not teachable. Can not see the forest through the trees, and have an economic belief system that is rooted in the hallucinations of liberalism. Again, please step out of your cocoon. Spend some real time looking at these links – there are some real scary facts in those statistics.

    Ah yes, currency devaluation.

Stupidity seems to live under the delusion that it can magically halve the value of its currency and thus stiff its debtors in the process.

Perhaps if Stupidity were familiar with history B.O. (Before Obama), it would know about places that tried this, Weimar Germany coming immediately to mind. But it isn’t, so we just have to point and laugh.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Thus, for Pomposity to blabber on about a “sane discussion” is a misnomer, because Pomposity’s solutions to all the issues that it mentioned are to insanely repeat the same processes that have Japan and the Eurozone in the toilet.

Notice that the only answer that Stupidity has to debt is to stiff its creditors. That’s it. Stupidity is mentally incapable of acknowledging the fact that even in its 100% tax fantasy world, there is not enough money to pay off a single year’s deficit that it and its imbecile Obama have run up in its quest to make sure that Stupidity and its fellow “progressives” can sit in their cribs and poop their diapers without having to worry themselves about work or paying taxes.

That’s because it can’t. “Progressivism” is based on nothing more than demanding other people work to pay your bills. That’s all Stupidity can do, and thus that’s the only thing it can conceptualize. If you won’t work for it, Stupidity screams you’re an uncompassionate homophobic racist.
