Watch the video below to see how a group of Americans at Reagan National Airport responded on May 23 when “a US Airways gate attendant announced that an Honor Flight of World War II veterans would be arriving momentarily“. Prior to the arrival of these heroes, they had no clue such men would be arriving and soon congregated at the gate to welcome some men who fought to, as one great man put it, “free a continent“. Note particularly the headline at 3:18:

2:58 – is that one of the famous Tuskegee Airmen in the wheelchair?
Thanks so much for sharing. They saved the world and I am thrilled to see people acknowledging that.
Great video, godawful song. Is it really necessary to ruin the scene with that smarmy crap?
There is a nationwide movement to fly vets to see the WWII memorial and have a chance to tour around Washington, D. C. As a frequent flyer in and out of both Dulles and Reagan, I see their flights fairly often. The neatest part is that the otherwise stinking TSA sets up a special departure gate where these guys are whisked aboard their flights without a lot of hassle. Furthermore, there are lots of young service men and women who attend them if they need a helping hand.
My Dad, a WWII vet and retired officer, still gets by the TSA treatment when military flights are not available.
Correction……….”still gets the TSA treatment”.
Gene, I agree with you completely.
“………………….!!!!”
But not so speechless that I can’t say, “Thank you.” I am grateful beyond words.
