Here at GayPatriot, we have considered one of the most unreported stories in the legacy media — the liberal intolerance of gay conservatives. Heck, even the gay organization which prides itself on taking action when “media is [sic] used as a platform to defame and stereotype LGBT people” honored a mean-spirited blogger who uses his web-site to defame and stereotype gay conservatives.
It’s not just gay conservatives who face verbal attacks and — as John Hawkins reported earlier this week — worse. Some on the left, he reminds us, have moved beyond verbal attacks, citing “the staggering level of abuse that many activists, columnists, and bloggers on the Right have to endure just to exercise their First Amendment rights.”
John mentions not just the recent “SWAT-ing”** of prominent conservative bloggers, but also other forms of harassment, including hacking politicians’ e-mail boxes and bloggers’ twitter accounts while attacking conservative speakers. Some activists have even contacted bloggers’ places of employment and posted their addresses online.
Some at GayPatriot are familiar with one of these tactics.
The real issue here is not just the tactics, but why the legacy media have chosen not to cover this phenomenon.

*in the legacy media.
**”That means someone called the police, claimed to be the person in question, and told them he had killed someone. The idea is to agitate the police and send them to the target’s house where they’ll hopefully kill the victim before they figure out what’s going on.”
It looks like your problem with Jervis has more to do with his politics than with what you see as his mean-spiritedness. If sheer mean-spiritedness were the issue, you could easily take Malkin, Coulter, Limbaugh, and others to task for it — but as politics is what counts, you tend to spare mean-spirited conservatives the kind of criticism you relish directing toward, say, Joe Jervis. I mean, you called Breitbart a hero two postings below; do you need to be reminded how scurrilous his tone could be?
Do you even read Joe.My.God.? Or do you know all you want to know about it from occasional excerpts?
So, to the left… siccing a SWAT Team on an opponent in the middle of the night to terrorize him and his family is morally equal to Coulter or Malkin writing a strongly-worded blog post in opposition to a leftist policy.
Thanks for making that clear, Tom.
And since Coulter, Malkin, and Limbaugh have never advocated violence against their opponents… as Dan Savage and other leftists have done regularly… I can only assume its their disagreement and harsh language that makes Tom feel all icky inside, and I offer him a crying towel.
V the K you are pitch perfect!
I detest the way the Left tries to create a false moral equivalency between harsh words VS siccing a SWAT team on your children in the middle of the night.
I hoped lots of folks on the Left would loudly repudiate these actions, but they have not.
It might have been the only way to shame these creeps into stopping.
Now we’ll only stop them when they are hunted down and arrested.
The bill for the false call should be paid by the perp.
In New Hampshire the bill for the fake yacht on fire call is $300,000.
And we can also post an excellent example of the type of thing posted and endorsed by the gay left, including Jervis, Evan Hurst, and Wayne Besen.
These statements are completely normal and fully endorsed and supported by the gay and lesbian community as represented by Joe Jervis, Evan Hurst, and Wayne Besen. This is an example of conduct and behavior that the gay and lesbian community considers normal and not at all hateful.
Given that, Tom1729, do you think you have any credibility on this topic?
Do you think anyone believes that you support “civility” when one can simply and easily post the epithets that you fully endorse and support Jervis, Hurst, and Besen using?
And the entertaining part of all of this, Nan and V the K, is that Tom1729 makes it clear that he does NOT object to SWATting or verbal violence — as long as the right people are doing it.
That really is the point. The screaming, squirming left is desperately trying to silence conservatives through any means possible, up to and including killing them. Tom1729 already endorses and supports the murder of Republicans and telling gay conservatives to kill themselves; we thus have to keep in mind that our deaths are perfectly acceptable to him, and that that is what he and his fellow bigot gays like Jervis and Dan Savage actually WANT.
Oh, NDT, there you again… being mean and uncivil to the lefties by reminding them of the things they openly support.
You know what, NDT? If you keep up this bad habit of throwing the leftie’s s**t back in their faces we’ll have to change your name.
How about:
Nasty Dallas Thirty?
North ‘Destroy them’ Thirty?
North Dallas ‘Tell them off’?
😉
Nude Depraved Tyrannosaurus.
It is because the left is evil and their evil cohorts are in the media. It is an evil ideology, so they have no problem with SWATting or personal attacks or calling for the death of all Republicans. It’s very simple. THEY. ARE. EVIL. They lie, manipulate, enslave, cheat, segregate, control, coerce, and commit violence.
Dan, first of all, these actions that you describe are deplorable, and I hope those who have committed these acts are punished to the full extent of the law. As to the story not getting the full attention that it deserves, I’m not sure what the answer is.
Oh really, Pat?
I mean, to the rest of us who have faced your blame-fests against Christians or your Finger-Wag of Justice, that’s kind of a silly statement.
We understand; after all your bigot Obama and the Obama Party do the same thing. They supposedly “deplore” all these things that they inexplicably pay and endorse their surrogates, cat’s paws, and donors are doing, but insist that they can’t be held responsible — right before they start demanding that Romney repudiate and take responsibility for everything anyone anywhere says.
So start pitching the same screaming fits and cries of “blood on their hands” that you use against Christians against this “deplorable” behavior, and start demanding that the gay community hold bigots like Jervis and Savage accountable like you do Romney.
To summarize, I think we’ve seen on this thread the two main defenses of the Obama Party and the gay community when confronted with their fellow libs’ behavior: equivocate and plead helpless.
This, of course, coming from those who make moral equivalence of the GOP and conservative gays to the Nazis and their supporters, and who can organize protests, boycotts, and firings in nanoseconds of someone who uses the word “gay” without having a grievance-group permit.
Short answer: Tom1729, Pat, rusty, and the rest of the Obama Party/gay community leadership are more than capable of doing something about their compatriots’ “deplorable” behavior.
They just don’t want to.
And that is the lesson.
Thanks, NDT. I’ll take that as a compliment coming from the Commander in Chief of Finger Waggers. Have a blessed weekend.
