Slow blogging/GOProud Endorses Mitt

June 20, 2012 by B. Daniel Blatt

It’s been a crazy week for me here in Los Angeles which I will explain in a subsequent post. So, perhaps it’s serendipitous that Bruce is (finally) returning to blogging.

Barely logged on when I got this on Yahoo!’s homepage: Gay conservative group endorses Mitt Romney:

A national group of gay conservatives has endorsed presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, the organization announced Wednesday.

The executive board for GOProud, a group founded by two former members of the Log Cabin Republicans, Christopher Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia, voted Tuesday to make an official endorsement.

Founded in 2009 with both gay and straight members, GOProud ran ads against Democrats in the midterm elections and is preparing another ad campaign on behalf of Romney this cycle.

“GOProud is prepared to commit significant resources to help make Mitt Romney the next president of the United States,” said Lisa De Pasquale, interim chair of the GOProud board of directors and the former director of the Conservative Political Action Conference.

. . . .

“We don’t agree with Gov. Romney on every single issue—indeed, we disagree strongly with him on his support for a federal marriage amendment and we have urged Romney publicly to take bolder and more conservative stances on tax reform, entitlement reform and spending,” LaSalvia said. “Given the vote on our board, obviously not everyone in our organization will agree with this endorsement, and we respect that.”

More on this if I get a chance.

That fundraising photo with the tight jeans must have been more effective than I thought.

Actually, some pics of his sons in tight jeans might prove even more effective.

It’s a hoot … over at Twitter (@Juliethejarhead), the liberal bullies are creating more press for GOProud than they ever could on their own.

Speaking of looks … Ann Romney wins hands-down over the present FLOTUS incumbant. (And that is NOT meant as faint praise. LOL!)

    Especially in riding gear.

Julie, won’t have time to check to see angry gay left reaction to this; please cut and paste their reactions into the comments. Thanks!

    B. Daniel:

Dan Savage was predictably vile in his response.

It’s about time Log Cabin Republicans/GOProud endorsed the “Father of Homosexual Marriage”. What took you so long?

Yeah, Dan Savage is vile. The left doesn’t like it when it’s constituents wander off the plantation.

I concur with GOProud that Romney is not bold enough on entitlement and tax reform. That is partially due to his Mormonism, which does not encourage thinking outside of the box.

So, no Mormon in the US government is bold? What about Mike Lee?

#11-12: And DaVinci, how come the MSM makes such a big deal about Romney’s faith, but refuses to identify Sen. “Dingy” Harry Reid as a Mormon – even though he practices his faith?

    Hypocrisy, thy name is liberalism.

And you would certainly never see a black female conservative Mormon running for a congressional seat in Utah; that’s just too out-of-the-box.
