Weird. Just as I was outlining a post on the uncanny similarity between my and Bruce’s blog ideas — despite a distinct difference in style — and preparing to write a bleg about reactions to Dan Savage’s uncivil discourse, I catch my co-blogger’s latest post — about another gay activist sharing Mr . Savage’s distaste for civility when writing about gay people holding political views different form his own.
The bleg: can you alert me to criticism of Mr. Savage’s most recent incivility, i.e., using (to borrow HRC’s expression when writing about another individual’s use of the term) “hateful remarks” about certain gay individuals.
I’m particularly eager to find out if any gay activists have faulted Mr. Savage for his hateful rhetoric.
Dan,
Don’t you know? When liberals call people names, it’s thoughtful intellectual analysis of policy. When conservatives call names, it’s hateful vitriolic biogtry.
Big difference.

Thank you, rusty, I don’t know who Justin Sedor is, but he wrote a good post which I will reference in my followup post.
Blogger Viktor Kerney at the Bilerico Project, a leftist gay blog, wrote a piece on 6/21/12 titled “Using ‘House Faggot’ is Not Okay, Dan Savage,” calling on other gay leftists to call Savage to account. I’d post a link, but I don’t know how to do HTML.
I love this site, and am so glad to be able to read posts from gay conservatives. It’s helping me feel a little better about coming out. Thank you.
lurker, thanks for that link–and that good word.
You’re welcome. Do e-mail me if there’s anything I can do to help. (My e-mail is on the right side-bar)
