Bruce passed along a tweet he received from a young woman named, as per her blogger ID, “after a city”. Savannah laughs “every time” Dan Savage “talks about bullying and respect”, all the while bullying others and showing no respect for his ideological adversaries.
Savage, she adds, “is no different than the kids on the middle school bus who called me an Oreo because I wasn’t ‘black enough.'” Now, he’s comparing gay people who back Mitt Romney to meth addicts. And saying our friends at GOProud (and by extension any gay individual who prefers Mitt Romney to the failed incumbent) “wants to harm other gay people—they want to harm all gay people—by getting Mitt Romney elected.” (Bold in original.)
Seems his day was even worse than mine was before my date last night.
Mr. Savage even claims that Romney “has pledged. . . to do as much harm as he possibly can to gay people” asking “what kind of faggot supports a politician who would do him harm?” I must have missed that pledge. Guess I haven’t been following the campaign closely enough.
He even assures us that Obama has “delivered” “smaller government.”
Guess Mr. Savage missed the surge in spending, with the federal government now consuming a greater portion of GDP than it did that day in 2009 when George W. Bush returned to Texas. (Shortly after taking office, Mr. Obama signed an FY 2009 budget measure increasing spending $400 billion above the amount his predecessor had requested.) Mr. Savage seems also to have missed Gallup’s report showing that “nearly half of small-business owners” aren’t hiring because of “potential healthcare costs (48%) and government regulations (46%)”.
Do wonder why Mr. Savage hates so much, spewing bile and misrepresenting his adversaries’s view (as well as his presidential candidate’s record) while accusing others of hating themselves.
I fear we may not be able to temper Savage’s rage, leaving us to follow the lead of the young woman named for a city in Georgia. And just laugh at his hypocrisy. And his excess.
