Out of deference to the U.S. Supreme Court, Bruce and I have agreed to change the name of the category once labelled Obamacare to more accurately reflect the legislation which has now passed constitutional muster.
This video to which Jim Geraghty alerted us helps explain things:
Hear! Hear!
You gents are correct. It’s never been about health care.
And everything to do with health coverage… through taxation.
Obama’s goal has always been to turn the U.S. into just-another-social-fascist nation.
The SCOTUS decision helps him enormously because of the new, yes NEW, power that it gives to the government. Roberts thinks he’s reining in the Commerce Clause or something, but boy has he screwed the pooch.
Here’s where it’s going, folks: The U.S. is faced with its own sovereign-debt crisis, “Greece times 100”. It’s not a news story yet, but the math is all right there. The government continues to issue massive amounts of new debt, as it lives far beyond its means (and must borrow the shortfall). The Obamacare mandate is to some extent a bailout of the insurance industry. But even more than that, it presages/enables a bailout of Congress: the day when the government mandates that people (individuals, companies, institutions) *must* buy U.S. Treasury bonds.
Roberts just extended the government’s power to take from the People, and hence, the lifespan of the Welfare State. By a few years. Not many years at all, but we know that lefties, politicians, and other parasites and leeches don’t care about that; they say stuff like “In the long run, we’ll all be dead”.
I find it interesting that the day before the Obamatax decision, my son, who is in med school, attended a class where part of the discussion was about doctors accepting only cash for their services, no Medicare or Medicaid. They talked about a primary care doctor in North Carolina who has a list posted showing what each service will cost. Apparently he is doing very well and isn’t having to deal with insurance companies. Quite a few of the future doctors in the room liked this approach. Something to think about.
#3.. cash discount Dr’s and high deductible plans are the way to go. As long as your Dr. is “in network”, you can file the claim against your deductible online.
Yes to #4, but apparently this doctor isn’t in network.
Higher taxes, pole smoking —- what a sad excuse for what this country once was.
