In the wake of the Obamacare decision,
his supporters appear elated, Obama himself seems downbeat

June 30, 2012 by B. Daniel Blatt

Watching CNN while doing cardio on Thursday, I noticed how giddy CNN’s left-of-center pundits, particularly Jeffrey Toobin, seemed as they commented on the Supreme Court decision upholding the Democratic program to overhaul our nation’s health care system through greater regulation and higher taxation.

Their mood paralleled that of my liberal friends on Facebook, elated at the outcome, once again supportive of the rightness of U.S. Supreme Court rulings.

By contrast, the president seemed dour, almost depressed.  As he delivered his remarks on the decision, he lack that lightness of step which all but defined him in the early stages of 2008 presidential campaign.   This was not the first time he has appeared downcast in his public appearances.  A week before when he spoked to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials in Orlando, Florida, he seemed similarly subdued.

As he did when he delivered his economic speech in Cleveland, Ohio.

Is it just me?  Or have others noted his dour demeanor? And if you have noticed it, do you think this reflects a campaign strategy or his own inner emotions?

Speaking of inner emotions, I had a fantasy this morning which revealed to me again how much I loathe this man, what he stands for, and what he and his kind have done to this country.

I was telling people last week that the worst outcome for Obama in the case would be if the SCOTUS upheld the whole thing, because then people would see how disastrous and expensive and intrusive Obamacare is in practice and they’d be livid with Obama. But I was wrong. The worst thing turned out to be having the law upheld — as a TAX! — and the Medicaid coercion part struck.

Thanks CJ Roberts for caving to the pressure of the left. You’ve probably doomed Obama’s re-election chances (although I’m sure that was not your intent, as I suspect you are an Obama voter).

Barack Obama’s campaign was in free fall before the ObamaTax decision; however, in its aftermath, the ground beneath Obama’s feet is gone & he’s aware of it now. The Sleeping Giant is awake, angry, & really pissed off. Obama & Obama Democrats beware.

Presonally, I CAN. NOT. WAIT. to witness the temper tantrum the little psychopath will engage in when his skinny black ass gets handed it’s walking papers in November. It’s gonna be a blood bath, kids. Invest heavily in popcorn.

A friend of mine visiting me from Kansas said Obama would get a boost in the polls as well as less opposition to Obamacare after the SC gave it approval. Seems he was correct. However, Romney needs to tie the slack job growth is in part due to the threat of Obamacare. If he persists and is successful, he’ll win.

stupidity, it won’t be only a temper tantrum, it will be cities on fire, because people like yourself and leftists in general who never passed the mental age of 12 react this way. If Obama loses, the rodney king scenario will look like a walk in the park.

So we will be able to underline once again what sort of barbarians you leftist lot are. Nothing new to see.

I see three possible reasons for Obama’s downbeat demeanor in the wake (and I use that term advisedly) of the Roberts Court ruling.
    1) it’s the normal emotional let-down following the resolution of a prolonged, emotionally stressful problem
    2) his recognition that the Court’s decision that the IM is a tax vehicle and not a penalty gives the lie to his “not a tax” chant and to his “read my lips: no new taxes on incomes below $250k” mantra.
    3) just his continued inability to deliver an excited speech on any subject that he doesn’t really feel in his gut.

Thanks CJ Roberts for caving to the pressure of the left. You’ve probably doomed Obama’s re-election chances….

He’s also driven a stake, if not through the heart of our Constitution, at the least very d*mned near. It’s going to take a lot of work to correct this ugly precedent–as well as the work still not begun (and which Roberts’ Commerce Clause “limits” wholly elided) on correcting the ugly precedents that are Jones & Laughlin and Wickard.

The mostly overlooked result of the SCOTUS decision is it’s declaration that the forced expansion of Medicaid is illegal. The Court’s decision to limit the expansion of Medicaid in many states has seriously damaged the liberals’ dream of universal coverage. This law will not result in what the libs think it will. According to the CBO, this will only half the number of uninsureds in the US by 2022. Maybe Obama finally is beginning to understand the big fat mess he’s created. Now, if only Romney could capitalize on it….

On the local newspaper blogs, the liberals have gone from “nah, nah, hey, hey.. we won.. we won.. we won” to attacking with extra special venom anyone who even mentions the word ‘tax”. After they realized what CJ Roberts actually ruled, they are boxed into a corner. Either CJ Roberts is smarter than Obama or Obama lied. Liberals don’t like either choice.

I would like to know this. From what I read, businesses with over 50 people will be fined 2,000.00 an employee if they don’t offer insurance that they pay into as well. We get insurance through my husband’s job. His company pays half. We pay 1,000.00 a month(we are a family of five) so our policy costs 24K a year. And believe me, it’s no senator’s insurance policy! It would be cheaper for them to just pay the fine, right? I think a lot of people will loose their insurance and they won’t qualify for government help to buy another policy. Did I read this right?

One would hope so, Serenity. I am, after all, a professional DESIGNER. I make my living from having an imagination, and the skills to translate vision into reality. If that’s a compliment, I’ll take it. But I have my doubts that it is; that wouldn’t be like you.

I´ve noticed it. It seems as though he´s lost the fire in the belly, but so has much of his audience. The receptions do seem as enthusiastic and raucus as in 2008. He has seen the handwriting on the wall. The atmosphere in the White House is probably similar to that of Hitler´s bunker as the reich was falling and the allies were closing in. The Republicans are coming! Now he and the Democrats have to defend Obamacare and the big tax increase, courtesy of CJ (180º degrees) Roberts.
