You know ready are our friends in the legacy media to root around in Mitt Romney’s past and find how his present statements contradict things he has said in the past? On Independence Day, Dan Riehl offered that Media Digging For Romney News Already Exceeds Obama Digging In 2008.
And bear in mind that it wasn’t until this year, four full years after Barack Obama’s locked up the Democratic presidential nomination that left-of-center pundit Ben Smith “counted 38 instances in which [Obama’s] biographer [David Maraniss] convincingly disputes significant elements of Obama’s own story of his life and his family history.” Note one of Smith’s colleagues bothered to subject the Democrat’s autobiography to a a thoroughgoing analysis, choosing to take his narrative at face value.
Now comes word, via Instapundit, that “In 2004, Obama dismissed creation of 310,000 jobs under Bush.” Yesterday, he hailed the creation of 80,000 jobs as a “step in the right direction.”
Do wonder why the legacy media is not giving more play to Mr. Obama’s comments in 2004 — and contrasting them to his remarks about the most recent job figures.
