Although we have yet received no report that a gay employee suffered mistreatment while woking at Chick-fil-A or that any gay customer was denied service at one of the Christian-owned chicken chain’s many franchises, the folks at HRC have described the company with a word gay activists delight in deploying to describe a a person or policy with which they disagree:
Why do some gay activists, including this, the largest gay political outfit use the word, “hate,” to describe people they disagree with — or policies at odds with their own.

*despite its failure to provide any evidence that said company mistreated gays.
NB: Keep tweaking the title to make it less clunky, more accurate and able to fit on one line. Apologies for the confusion.
Just a reminder. Today is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day. You can go to defend free speech or just to spite those who demonize anyone with whom they disagree.
”I’ll tell you what’s going to happen on Nov.6
Obama is going to get Chick fil A’d” —— Rush Limbaugh
I just returned from lunch at a Chick-Fil-A in Seminole, Florida and the place was slammed. The hostess told us that it had been that way ever since they opened this morning. The drive up window line was back up in the street for the 1 1/2 hour I was there (met friends and had a great time talking politics). The lines inside were 10+ deep for the entire time as well. Everybody was polite, well-behaved and having a good time supporting free speech. The customers also included Sheriff’s Dept deputies and city firefighters. All ages were represented as well. Good chicken..the funny thing is that I’ve not been in a Chick-Fil-A in years but will definitely be returning soon.
“Hate”, or the charming novelty “H8” has become as predictable and as empty and useless as “racist”. What it really means was taught to me by a radical lesbian years ago: “Unless you agree with me, you have no right to live.”
As a homo, I’m ashamed to note that my gay friends are about the most intolerant people I’ve ever met. They constantly prove the dictum that the people screaming loudest about diversity are always the most intolerant of any opinion diverse from their own & will seek to shut it down or silence it
What I find amazing is the liberals who see nothing wrong with government entities trying to block a business that they don’t like. However, if a government entity tries to curb access to an abortion clinic… watch out. They are clueless.
And by “curb access” you mean “subject abortion clinics to the same inspection, hygiene, and regulatory requirements as other medical facilities.”
Had lunch at the Chick-fil-A near the office in Atlanta. Went late, thinking things would be calm. NO WAY! Place was also slammed, with long lines at every register. Owner had his wife working the counter – was great to see the exercise of free speech.
Next line over were some guys from Arby’s, which has a corporate office across the street. Thought that was neat.
You got to love it when it blows up in a lib’s face.
I am all for someone picketing an establishment they don’t like.
What is becoming obvious is that progressive gay activists and their enablers in the more mainstream gay community had no inkling that their little tantrum against Cathy would result in a nationwide push to support Chick-Fil-A.
Idealogues of any stripe always overplay their hand. I would like to think that those people over at HRC and other places will learn from this, but that is not likely to happen.
Asking liberals to prove that CFA has refused to serve or hire a homosexual customer and they’ll flip out and yell at you. Figures. If they did refuse to serve gays, I’d tell them to f themselves because that’s illegal.
Until then, CFA can keep serving me delicious chicken in a friendly manner.
The standards of what constitutes bigotry are so low that even staying silent could be interpreted as hate because people want you to speak out in favor of things they support. Some gay activist treat people who are against same-sex marriage as if they are George Wallace physically standing in their way of getting married.
Had some waffle fries, hubby had the chicken sandwich. We did not know the food was that good. Going back soon. Also, saw on the Blaze that a Chik-Fil-a in New Hampshire is sponsoring a gay pride parade in August. Since this is a franchise operation, each owner is free to choose what groups and charities they want to support…and I say more power to them. In the end this is all about the freedom to think and act on your own convictions without being threatened or called names because my world view is different than yours.
There is a BIG difference between Liberal Socialist Gays and Conservative Gays. Conservatives are tollrent of others, while Liberal Socialists are NOT TOLLERENT of any view other than their own. I am a Conservative and disagree with much of what Liberal Socialist Gays believe and say. In their case, sadly, what they say TRULY IS HATE SPEECH.
As someone on Twitter put it: “Liberals define “hate” as the refusal to submit to liberalism.”
I was listening to an interesting discussion about this on my local public radio station (WHYY in Philly) yesterday while headed home for lunch. One of the panelists was making the point that when people throw around the term “hate” in reference to statements like Mr. Cathy’s (that is, when you accuse him of “hate speech”), it begins to seriously weaken the definition of hate speech. Not the exact phrase he used, but I hope the point is understood. The gentleman drew a completely appropriate distinction between Mr. Cathy’s statements/views, and true hate speech directed at individuals and groups. It was a well-made point that I was glad to hear being aired. I’ve been saying to some friends all along that it isn’t hate speech. True hate speech is vicious, and Mr. Cathy’s statements come nowhere near that mark.
I have mixed feelings on the whole Chick-Fil-A brouhaha. On one hand, I admire the fact that they are closed on Sundays and everyone gets that day off. And Mr. Cathy is of course entitled to believe whatever he likes, and I support him in that. I even support his right to use the money he earns through Chick-Fil-A to encourage stronger marriages. On the other hand, I think the problem is not any of those things but rather that he also uses WinShape Foundation monies to fund anti-same-sex-marriage (or pro-“traditional”-marriage) organizations that have a tenuous-at-best grip on honesty. Personally that’s what bothers me and I think has gotten lost in the stupid “hate” accusations. (Not that I am surprised either.) If I disagree with that, then I shouldn’t spend my money there if it’s important enough to me. Not sure if it really is.
(And honestly, if I stopped spending money at every business that has an owner with beliefs I disagree with or makes donations to politicians I don’t like, where the hell would I shop?!? Also, the chicken is delicious.)
Asheville — all three Chick Fil-As slammed all day. The one I ended up at this evening had run out of their famous chicken dishes 4 hours before and management was informing people in the parking lot. ( >18,000 sandwiches in less than a day at one location.)
So of course our local ABC affiliate is featuring the protesters (just a handful — maybe 8, best I could tell) at Chick Fil-A near downtown Asheville. Signs included (from the video) “Separate Church and Hate,” “homophobia is a social disease,” “don’t fear the queers,” “No violence, Know peace,” (At Chick Fil-A?).
Seems significance of the First Amendment is lost on some, but not the thousands who had ate mor chikin today.
One CAN NOT be gay and be conservative. If you “think” so, prove it from the Bible and the Bible alone (AV1611). That said…
Where is all these outspoken proponents of homosexuality – such as those who attack the CEO of Chick-fil-A for expressing his Christian faith – are remarkably quiet on the issue of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky and the culture that helped foster his abuse of young boys, according to observers…
What the hell does the Bible have to do with anything?
