Dodging Lasers To Get Chicken

My sincere apologies that it appears the last place this video is posted is at my very own blog!

My intent was to get this posted here sooner, but it just wasn’t possible until this morning. The video was shot on Wednesday, but it wasn’t cleared by the powers-that-be until Thursday morning. Well, I was driving from Charlotte to Jacksonville, FL all day Thursday. (I’m in JAX for the RedState Gathering…. more on that later)

So here it is, members of the GayPatriot community — my trip to Chik-Fil-A on Wednesday…

  1. There is a contingent of dissenters who originally criticized the fast food chicken chain for supporting groups like the Family Research Council who endorse radical, oppressive ideas.

From David Badash: “Chick-fil-A has donated at least $5 million to organizations (including a certified hate group) that, among other things, depict gay people as pedophiles, want to make “gay behavior” illegal, and even say gay people should be “exported” out of America.”

When the whole “Cathy/Gay Marriage Quote” hit the airwaves, it unfortunately pulled focus from what these dissenters were trying to bring to attention.

Also not part of the discussion: the overly salted, sugared, and MSG-seasoned deep-fried food that’s being celebrated.

If the end-game here is free speech, then there is minority of voices who are not being heard in this faux “debate” occurring between the left and the right.

Uh oh. Eating the food you want upsets the leftists who know better than you. We wouldn’t want to do that, would we?

Come on, everyone knows fast food isn’t the healthiest for you. Why does that have to be part of the discussion? People are going to eat at fast food restaurants anyway. And many of them probably do it just to spite Michelle Obama.

  7. So another fun night.

Had a liberal friend post a graphic of a number of businesses that donated to “pro-gay” causes.

The implication was that if you went to Chick-Fil-A you probably used a number of these companies products to do so and then spread your “hate”

    Here was our exchange:

Me – The difference is that politicians weren’t standing up and threatening to shut down or prevent any of these companies from operating in their cities because of their donations to “pro-gay” causes. That’s what changed it from a simple boycott war over SSM between the LGBT activists and the Evangelical Christians (which go on all the time) in to something much bigger.

Friend – I haven’t heard of any pols threatening to shut down a CFA, but rather to not allow a new potential one to open, if it didn’t adhere to the city’s / state’s non-discrimination laws, such as the case in Chicago. It turned into something bigger when Huckabee decided to turn this into a PR stunt for himself to get all his bigot followers riled up against “them evil gays”, I’m pretty sure he had already announced the 8/1 date before the mayors of those 3 cities had weighed in.
    3 hours ago · Like

Me – Chick-Fil-A has never discriminated against anybody or denied anybody service. Even a Huffington Post article talked about “openly gay employees” working there so there were no laws violated. The ACLU even came down on the side of Chick-fil-a in the narrow subject of possibly being denied a permit due to political contributions. The real question to ponder is if this was just a PR stunt.. what made it so much more wildly successful than all the other boycotts/anti-boycotts that always seem to fade out. The AFA and the 40000 moms boycotts always fail miserably. Something was different this time. It wasn’t just white hick Christians that came out this time. What was it?

  10. Much better than the video of that Vante dbag who, in typical lib fashion, berated a CFA employee for the opinions of her company’s owners.

His company fired him for posting his obnoxiousness on YouTube. But I think he could easily find work on MSDNC or Current TV, maybe cohosting a talk show with Dan Savage.

  11. Vince,

I piddled around and found your souce for the David Badash stink bomb and I clicked on all of his links.

What a masterpiece of taking total liberty by consciously ignoring context to find words from someone’s mouth that support the hate thesis being constructed out of thin air to condemn the target.

Why would you use such patent manipulation of reality to bolster your post?

For those who may be interested: “The certified hate group” is the Family Research Council and the Southern Poverty Law Center is the group that did the “certification.”

Vince, if you can not bring honest debate to the conversation, why bother to comment?

Furthermore: What is the useful connection between gay marriage, a “certified hate organization” and “the overly salted, sugared, and MSG-seasoned deep-fried food that’s being celebrated”?

How, exactly is “the overly salted, sugared, and MSG-seasoned deep-fried food” in fact “being celebrated”?

As a str8 reader, is there some important connection I am missing between being gay and “the overly salted, sugared, and MSG-seasoned deep-fried food”?

Does, for instance, “the overly salted, sugared, and MSG-seasoned deep-fried food” act as the “onset” agent for homophobia?

I generally cook for myself and avoid fast food. Every now and then, I, like ND30, will go to In N Out (a couple times/year) as far as fast food is concerned. But, if you want to picture me eating at a McDonald’s, please, by all means.

    Helio >
The FRC has likened gays to pedophiles, and has expressed a desire to be rid of them. That goes beyond freedom of speech. That is indeed hate.

As far as the food link, that was a separate thought. But, from your reading of my post, it makes me wonder if there is a direct correlation between unhealthy eating and ignorance. That would be a very interesting study.

Chris, here are a few resources for you to use.

This Volokh link nicely outlines the stunt the Chicago alderman and mayor are pulling and puts the lie to their statements, making it clear that this has nothing to do with business adherence to nondiscrimination laws. It also provides a direct link to Eugene Volokh’s explanation of why this is a gross First Amendment violation, along with relevant court cases.

This link provides the attempts by Obama Party lesbian Christine Quinn to use her official position to shut down an existing Chick-Fil-A by threatening its landlords.

Finally, one can easily point out that the Obama Party and gay and lesbian community that are shrieking over Chick-Fil-A in fact are endorsing and supporting the actions of the Nation of Islam, which actively calls for gays to be murdered.

The gay left, in particular the paid Obama bloggers, are desperately trying to ignore all of these points and spin a story. Your friend is merely repeating what has been fed to him by the liberal bloggers who are ignoring the very real First Amendment violations being committed by Obama Party officials.

Well, since Snatchy wants to play that obesity equals ignorance, it looks like the major components of Obama’s base and the poor are ignorant.

Now watch how fast Snatchy spins away from that one, because Snatchy’s point was never to be intelligent or scientific; it was for Snatchy, the anti-conservative bigot, to pretend to be rational in his bigotry.

    Comment by North Dallas Thirty — August 3, 2012 @ 12:03 pm - August 3, 2012

  18. This is interesting. Let’s continue to play Snatchy’s game that bad diet and obesity equal ignorance.

For the years 1999 through 2002, African American females aged 12 to 19 years had the highest prevalence of overweight (23.6%) compared with white (12.7%) and Mexican American girls (19.9%). Overweight is defined as body mass index greater than 95th percentile for age.

Poor nutrition and a sedentary lifestyle are key determinants of excess weight among all U.S. children. Compared with young white females, young African American females are less likely to eat the recommended daily amount of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and are more likely to consume high amounts of fat and sodium. They also are less likely to be physically active and more likely to watch television, and to watch television while eating.

Looks like the Obama base, the people who vote Obama overwhelmingly, are ignorant, according to Snatchy.

And that brings up some interesting questions. If the poor and black Americans are “ignorant” based on their higher tendency to be obese, as Snatchy insists, then why would you expect them to earn as much as those who aren’t?

    Comment by North Dallas Thirty — August 3, 2012 @ 12:10 pm - August 3, 2012

    Really? Which ones, Snatchy?

Come on. You wanted to play this game, now you’re going to play it. You said that ignorance equals unhealthy diet and obesity: therefore, science it has been scientifically demonstrated that black Americans are far more likely to have an unhealthy diet and far more prone to obesity than are white people, you’re going to state that black Americans are far more ignorant than white people.

Or you can admit that you attempted to throw in a stupid smear based on your own ignorance and bigotry and got your ass kicked with facts, figures, and actual science.

  22. Actual quotations from the FRC which insinuate pedophilia is a main components of gay rights.

When FRC Peter Sprigg was asked if we should outlaw gay behavior, he responded ‘yes.’

Sprigg also expressed a preference for exporting homosexuals from the country.

The matter has been diluted into Dan Cathy’s expressing his freedom of speech regarding traditional marriage. Critics have been taking Chick-fil-A to task for years for their involvement with donating to hate groups such as FRC (I also use the term “hate group,’ because their beliefs go beyond freedom of speech). Yet, all that is lost, because of the recent quote, which has now become a media touchstone.

That would be a valid argument, Cinesnatch, if, as is pointed out here, you and your fellow bigot gays were having the same screaming and pissing fit over your Obama Party’s endorsement and support of the Nation of Islam and the Islamic Society of Boston, both of which openly demand not only bans on gay marriage, but also call for being gay to be criminalized and gay people to be murdered.

As far as ND30′s language, it is no less physically intimidating than the words I expressed on GP during the first week of January of this year on the epic (and I mean epic) Michelle Bachmann thread.

  31. So, by the rule established by Vincent in his comment at 12:42, it is now fair to impute the opinion of the most radical member of any gay rights group to the group as a whole and to anyone who supports that group.

    Comment by ILoveCapitalism — August 3, 2012 @ 1:44 pm - August 3, 2012

  33. Do I have that correct?

No, VTK. This dispute originally was about Cathy and Chick-Fil-A financially supporting the FRC, a group that promoted hate speech. Thanks to one quotation being taken out of context by one side and then the other responding, all that was lost in the debate, and we have what we have now: a record day in sales for CFA and now a kiss-in.

    Comment by Cinesnatch — August 3, 2012 @ 1:50 pm - August 3, 2012

    Comment by Cinesnatch — August 3, 2012 @ 1:50 pm – August 3, 2012

    Nope.

This dispute was originally about the fact that the bigot Obama Party and the bigot gay and lesbian community were abusing governmental power to punish people for exercising their rights to free speech and to religious beliefs.

And it blew up in the faces of the bigot leftists like Snatchy when it was exposed that they and their precious Obama Party were supporting and endorsing groups that call for gays and lesbians to be murdered.

The reason Snatchy is getting more and more frantic and unglued is because the mask is being ripped off the liberal Obama Party/LGBT community to which he belongs, and their true fascist face is being revealed. From his Obama’s shrieking that “you didn’t build that” through the Obama-endorsed attempts to ban and shut down Chick-Fil-As and to the Obama-pushed lies that Harry Reid is screaming on the Senate floor, people are finally seeing that the Obama Party and the LGBT community it owns are wannabe totalitarians.

    Comment by North Dallas Thirty — August 3, 2012 @ 3:45 pm - August 3, 2012

  36. 1) Given the long history with Nambla… Given the public words of a man who is openly gay and in the Obama administration, that he covered up the actions of a 15 year old in violation of Massachusetts law… I’d not call those accusations ‘hate speech’. Indeed, when an article from April calls admitted peodophile Harry Hay widely regarded as the father of the American gay rights movement, it’s hard to argue he doesn’t have a point.

    2) Given this quote comes from the already discredited SPLC Who has been discredited over and over again I have to laugh again. And let’s not forget their being aligned with the racist group La Raza

    3) And given Vince has personally expressed support of someone who argues conservatives have no place in America and that violence is the answer to people who oppose him, I’d say Vince has no standing.
