Will Obama’s dishonesty on a TV talk show get as much play as Romney’s inelegant language at a private fundraiser?

September 19, 2012 by B. Daniel Blatt

(H/t: Instapundit.)

UPDATE: Featuring another clip from this same interview, John Hinderaker notes that the Obama claims not to know what the federal deficit is. This should make news, the President of the United States, unaware of the size of the federal deficit.

Amazing. Another sign of his incompetence. Or perhaps his dishonesty, claiming not to know, perhaps fearing that Republicans will use this is a campaign ad.

Do think they should use that clip in an ad — to show how clueless Mr. Obama is about the problems facing the country.

Oh, and if he favors what he dubs a “balanced” approach to the deficit, why then do all his budgets include deficits higher than the last (full fiscal year) deficit he “inherited” from his predecessor.

UP-UPDATE: Perhaps I shouldn’t have rushed to post the video I found on Instapundit because the more I think about it the more I realize the video John liked at Powerline is the more telling. This should be leading the news right now. We have had four successive years of trillion-dollar deficits and a national debt that has increased by a greater amount in Obama’s three years and eight months in office than it did in his predecessor’s eight years. And the president claims on national television that he doesn’t know how much the national debt is.

Isn’t that part of his job? And isn’t this the guy who promised a “net spending cut” and to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term?

I guess we’re having an especially hard time with processing and comprehension today, Dan?

Obama said that Bush’s deficit spending was irresponsible and unpatriotic.

Obama said that he doesn’t accuse people who disagree with him of being unpatriotic.

These two statements are not in conflict. Obama doesn’t say he never accuses anyone of being unpatriotic, or that he never says any given action is unpatriotic. He says he doesn’t accuse people who disagree with him of being unpatriotic. Presumably, him and Bush disagree about a lot of things, but he wasn’t accusing Bush of being unpatriotic for disagreeing with him, he was talking about Bush’s deficits.

That conservatives are scrambling to put crap like this together says a lot about the health of the Republican Party. You think this should deserve equal scrutiny and coverage, compared to 20 minutes of the Republican candidate speaking candidly about how he views the country? You can throw a fit that the media isn’t covering what you think they should be covering if you want, but it would do you a world of good to reflect on why this stuff keeps happening to Republicans. Is it possible that conservatives and Republicans should bear some of the responsibility for their poor performance?

Perhaps balance means he takes X amount of credit unto himself and lays X amount of blame on the Republicans.

Levi @ #1 attacks Dan’s processing abilities and comprehension because of some etherial emanation from Levi found in what Dan wrote. To wit:

Does anyone out there have any notion of what has got Levi in such high dudgeon? Are meds to blame? (Lack of or overdose…)

    @Heliotrope

Levi is a cultist. His devotion to Obama as his prophet and Big Government as his religion are the devices he uses to fill the gaping spiritual void in his life.

There are some rules within a cult. The first one is, defend the Cult Leader against all criticism.

Another is, whatever the Cult Leader says must be treated as truth, even if it contradicts what the Cult Leader said previously.

You cannot treat Levi’s posts like those of a normal person with a political opinion. Levi is more like Tom Cruise or John Travolta defending Scientology.

#1: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You gotta love it when the leftist O-bots like Levi spontaneously transform themselves into the wise, learned, objective arbiters of the meaning of the hair-thin rhetorical nuances in political speech. These are the people who have literally been screeching at us for four years that:

    “socialist”=racism
    “Chicago”=racism
    “Obama isn’t working”=racism
    “golf”=racism

…and the most recent (and my favorite), Romney deciding ‘too early’ to run for President against Obama=racism.

Also, in case you missed it this week, Obama jock-sniffer Chuck Todd actually tweeted the ‘clarification’ that the Administration didn’t ASK YouTube to take down the anti-Muslim video, they just contacted YouTube to ASK if the video violated their Terms of Use. Yeah, that’s completely different.

Liberals are truly DERANGED. What happened that caused them to become so obsessed with defending/protecting this pathetic failure of a man that they will actually express idiocy like this? Obama doesn’t give a fu*k about Levi and they will never meet in person, but for some inexplicable reason, he and every other liberal never miss a chance to completely humiliate themselves protecting him with this kind of idiocy.

Another high-point in liberal distinction-without-a-difference tedium:

The filmmakers didn’t SAY they wanted GWBush to be assassinated. They just MADE A MOVIE about him being assassinated. Hello! Big difference. Huge.

    SO MUCH FAIL.

They (some of them) have been saying that, when conservatives criticize Obama, it is racism, so maybe they actually think it is racist to criticize someone with black skin (and it isn’t just a tactic to try shut the opponent up), regardless of whether or not the criticism is justified. Maybe that has something to do with it. Of course, the irony is that that mindset is, itself, racist, and even the accusations they make are racist (assuming they are being sincere, and, if they aren’t, they’re liars).

Dan deleted the original post and put something else up. He completely abandoned his point and this post is about something else entirely now, although I’m sure it’s still whiny and nonsensical.
