Guess independent voters must really like extremists

“I think you know full well”, wrote an ex-conservative friend of mine of Facebbok “that the GOP has become significantly more extreme since the 1980s, whereas the Democrats have not changed much at all.”

So, if that’s so, how come independentseven in California – are breaking overwhelmingly for Mitt Romney.

  1. A refrain one hears often from the left is that the Republican Party, and the Conservative wing in particular, has gone “batsh-t crazy.” When you look at actual policy positions of the Conservative Right:

    - Reducing Government to a level that can be supported by the economy.
    - Increasing domestic energy production to create jobs and reduce dependence on foreign energy supplies.
    - Enforcing immigration laws as written and passed by the people’s elected legislatures.
    - Eliminating regulations whose cost outweighs their benefits
    - Agreeing with 50-70% of the population on the proper definition of marriage.
    - Defending Western Civilization against Islamist Barbarians.

By what measure are these policies “batsh-t crazy.”

  2. Again this morning, from a “progressive” friend, I heard that conservatives want to murder gays in the streets. He said this with as much assurance as he might say, “the sun will rise tomorrow in the East.”

He doesn’t even know how to think about libertarians yet. His handlers haven’t told him. He was offended by my Gary Johnson 2012 t-shirt.

Independent voters insist on thinking for themselves. No wonder those who let others think for them fail to understand them.

We don’t want to murder you, but mass deportation is not out of the realm of possibilities if the sociopaths within the APAs ABA continue to engage in social activism to normalize paraphilias without replicable, empirical data to support their position.

  4. I say, call their bluff. The next time an idiot liberal spouts off, offer to bet him/her $1,000 that if Romney is elected, there will be no exterminations of homosexuals, no mass round-ups of homosexuals, gay bars will not be outlawed, and there will be no Presidential order mandating that homosexuals be executed in the streets.

Any leftist idiots willing to put their money where their stupid mouth is?

  5. “We don’t want to murder you, but mass deportation is not out of the realm of possibilities…”

That’s because you are not a conservative. Stop insulting conservatives by calling yourself one. You are a social reactionary nut. Grow a pair, stop being a coward, and call yourself exactly what you are.

  6. and call yourself exactly what you are.

Lori, I’d venture a guess that if this person would do just that, he’d have to define himself as a Moby Troll. Because he sure sounds like one.

And at the risk of sounding like Pauline Kael: in the conservative-libertarian cirlces that I work and live in, NO ONE I know thinks the way that rjligier does. Having an opinion on gay marriage is one thing, but stupid fantasies about mass murder/deportation of gays is quite another.

rjligier has to be a moby.

  7. I guess extreme is relative, because I find the left to be pretty batsh*t crazy.

It’s possible, but there are crazy people on both sides; although, some of these people’s ideologies seem so incompatible with what I’ve become accustomed to on the right that I question whether or not they are even on the same side.

I guess extreme is relative, because I find the left to be pretty batsh*t crazy.

That it is. And if you are crazy, you might think sanity is insanity and vice versa.

  9. It is proof of how incompetent GW Bush was, that in 8 years in office, he neglected to sweep up all the homos and put us in camps run by The Christian Right. The man seemingly could not do anything well.
