Noting that President Obama “is making an issue of” Mitt Romney’s reference to the binders full of women, Philip Klein believe the Democrat’s “campaign is increasingly worried about signs that Romney is closing the gender gap, which would mean lights out for his reelection given Romney’s advantages among male voters“:
It’s hard to see what argument Obama is advancing here, however. The attack isn’t even that Romney didn’t hire enough women as governor. It’s that he had to consult a binder prepared by a women’s group to find more female candidates when he wanted to hire more women. Is the suggestion that if he cared about women more he would have just hired his friends and associates rather than draw from a wider applicant pool?
My nephew had fun with the Democratic emphasis on the binders and created this graphic:

Binders Full of Women Create Cabinets Full of Women
I am a woman and I have some opinions on the closing of the gender gap and my caveat is I am a conservative and didn’t ever fall under the Obama spell so I can’t speak for the liberal loon women on the left.
But I think Obama’s “war on women” is falling flat because women with children don’t particularly care about funding planned parenthood and getting free birth control from their employers.
Like most male voters, they are worried about the economy and Romney is presenting himself as much stronger on the economy.
Women want to see a growing economy, jobs, lower energy prices and lower grocery bills-and risking these things in order to vote their uterus doesn’t make sense.
Romney has made the case that he is a real alternative to Obama’s status quo, and his message is appealing.
I don’t really get the whole “binder” meme liberals find so funny. I didn’t find Romney’s original binder statement a gaffe or funny. Honestly I totally missed the phrase and didn’t even get where all the binder jokes were coming from or why until I saw the meme paired with the video clip.
Obama is still probably going to keep the votes of his moonbat women voters and a few who still lean to the left, but Romney is making his case and the women aren’t buying the war on women.
It looks like nephew has a future in graphic design or advertising – that’s witty! LOL!
(Just me – I, too, missed the original “binders full of women” comment and actually had to go back to read the transcript to find what all the fuss was about, despite the fact that I watched the whole debate from start to finish. I also think that the sexual jokes about this phrase say more about those on the left than Romney or anyone else – inmature humor is only funny to inmature minds.)
Just speaking of fun, don’t miss Romney’s roast of Obama: http://hotair.com/archives/2012/10/18/video-romney-roasts-obama-at-the-al-smith-dinner/
He digs hard… and gets away with it. He knows he’s winning.
Again.. where is Levi scolding the left on reducing the election to word games and semantics?
I guess liberals can do that but conservative are not allowed.
If this is a major campaign theme for Obama this close to the election, Obama is toast.
Binders…binders! They’re coming to get me…they’re coming to take me away, haha…
Where do they get this stuff?
I actually saw some professional feminist on TV a couple of nights ago (I can’t remember whether it was FOX or PBS, because I watch a lot of both) groping to answer a question on why the “binders full of women” remark was SOOOOO offensive. She came up with some nonsense and moonshine about it “conjuring up images of Middle Eastern patriarchs.” In other words, she had to reach so far up her butt, her hand got stuck there.
So binders somehow equals middle eastern patriarch?
Obama and his mouthpieces are really stretching now.
