Obamacare Provision Prevents Gun and Ammo Registration

Good news — it has become known that hidden deep within the massive 2800-page bill called Obamacare there is a Senate Amendment protecting the right to keep and bear arms.

It seems that in their haste to cram socialized medicine down the throats of the American people, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Barack Obama overlooked Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.

According to reports, that amendment says the government cannot collect “any information relating to the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition.”

CNN is calling it “a gift to the nation’s powerful gun lobby.”

And according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), that’s exactly right. He says he added the provision in order to keep the NRA from getting involved in the legislative fight over Obamacare, which was so ubiquitous in 2010.

Maybe if they would have READ THE BILL first…

Random Wednesday Thought

Okay I’ll admit: I don’t get it.

ESPN feels the need to apologize because Brent Musburger says some girl is pretty. And yet, CNN feels no compunction whatsoever to apologize when their #1 rated program goes on a rant about killing a previous guest?

Just sayin’, it’s a pretty crazy world. And Nick doesn’t really get it.

P.S., speaking of apologizing, sorry you had to watch through that Alex Jones guy for almost a whole minute just to get to the good stuff.

Hey folks.  I haven’t talked about it much, but last year I made a career change to consulting & full-time blogging/conservative punditry.

So, unfortunately, that will require asking for donations throughout the year.   This is one of those times.

If you like the things we do here at the GayPatriot blog and enjoy my ridiculousness on Twitter, please DONATE to our GayPatriot PayPal Fund.

I should also mention I am available for speaking engagements and my official business website (political & social media consulting) is HERE.

Much appreciated.

How’s your coffee?

Like most things that people need to live, coffee has gone up these last few years. Even after a big decline in the last 18 months, the commodity still costs about three times what it did ten years ago.

If you read Zero Hedge, you may have seen a recent item from Daily Finance on declining coffee quality. It seems that the brand producers have lately been swapping in the cheaper Robusta beans for the better-tasting Arabica.

“Why should I care?”, you ask. Because this is a good little example of inflation at work. Many things have gone up a lot, in the last 10 years. But the coffee makers don’t want to ask people to pay (much) more. They figure, people will settle for Robusta, a worse taste.

So, retail coffee prices rise don’t rise (as much as the commodity has). Then the government elves who compile the consumer inflation statistics say: Look, the consumer price isn’t rising! Whee, no inflation! If you say “But Robusta isn’t as good”, they say: It’s a change in consumer preferences! Not inflation!

Except… it was inflation. Declining quality – the substitution of inferior goods, for roughly the same money – means a lower living standard. That’s one form of inflation; especially if it keeps happening.

Abortion Industry Hits All Time Highs!

YAY, taxpayer funded murder!!!!

The new annual report released by the national Planned Parenthood abortion business shows it did more abortions in its last year than ever before in its history.

The new report released by the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) shows the abortion giant did a record 333,964 abortions on unborn children during the 2011-2012 fiscal year. Those abortions were estimated to have generated $150 million dollars for the “nonprofit” organization.

While the number of abortions reached a record high, only 2,300 Planned Parenthood customers were referred to adoption agencies during the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

Meanwhile, the annual report reveals PPFA generated nearly $1.2 billion in total income — just short of the $1.22 billion mark that was its record for income that it posted in 2010-2011.

PPFA’s income included a hefty and ever-increasing check from American taxpayers. In 2009-2010, government funding reached a whopping $487.4 million. In 2010-2011 the figure jumped to $538.5 million. The total for 2011-2012 reached a staggering $542.4 million, which represents 45.2 percent of the group’s total annual budget.

The lie that Planned Parenthood “does mammograms” that Obama & minions spread is laughable.  But there is no letting the facts get in the way of progressive lunatics.

Slow blogging/Another epic edition

As I, in returning from my family vacation, return to work on my fantasy epic, I am trying to work out a schedule similar to that I “effected” when I was writing my dissertation, spending the early part of the day and into the afternoon, “dissertating” and the late afternoon and part of the evening “blogging.”

While the dissertation seemed to require more work than does the novel, it didn’t drain me as this sometimes does.

Perhaps, I just need to get used to writing fiction again — or perhaps I find this writing draining because I am drawing from images that have been stirring in my “subconscious” (and conscious) mind for over a decade.  And in the current chapter, I am providing much background information, notions and images that have been continuously simmering for sometime.

Or that creative writing is in itself more draining.  Or that my sense of being drained is just my psyche seeking rest to allow the images to settle and then emerge. . .

Not sure what it is — but to hope again to restore the balance I enjoyed when I was writing my dissertation.

Until then, I have encouraged ILoveCapitalism to blog a little more regularly than we had initially asked him to blog.  🙂
