Does the buck stop anywhere in the Holder Justice Department?

May 15, 2013 by B. Daniel Blatt

Via Drudge, we learn that the Attorney General is pointing the finger as this deputy who secretly obtained journalist’s phone records:

Holder said that he recused himself from the making the controversial decision to subpoena the phone records of Associated Press journalists, saying that it was made by Deputy Attorney General James Cole.

Well, did he think the way Mr. Cole engaged in a bit of overreach in the manner in which he attempted to contain the leak?  And does he think a man should keep his job in the federal Justice Department after casting so wide a net?

UPDATE:  Hmmmmm. . . . : Holder: I can’t remember when I recused myself from the AP investigation, and I know I didn’t do it in writing

As a former submarine officer, it’s just amazing to me to see how this president and his administration never take responsibility for anything but instead always blame someone beneath them. Of course, it’s complete BS that they aren’t involved, but even if the corruption was initiated at a lower level, the unwillingness of this administration to ever step up and accept responsibility is so, so different from the Navy’s culture, where the captain of the ship is always held responsible.

Chad, you’re absolutely correct. The guy at the top. It’s Bush’s fault.
And as to whether the guy should keep his job? Of course not! He needs to be promoted.

How is it even possible, from what Chad said here, to believe that he was blaming Bush?

Every president has been the blame for the creeping corruption and incompetence that’s gone on in our government. But of course, as long as we can play the game that our party’s guys are less to blame than those in the other, I suppose we don’t need to do the serious butt-kicking a real housecleaning demands.

The average night manager of a Burger King takes more responsibility for his workers’ actions than this president does.
