Social Security Disability Insurance fund running dry

June 2, 2013 by Jeff (ILoveCapitalism)

A record 10.98 million Americans are on disability (SSDI). We’ve gone from 51 full-time workers for each one on disability in 1968, to a mere fourteen!

According to Richard Finger at Forbes, 5.9 million recipients have been added under Obama alone – a majority, and more than his 2.5 million jobs created. Finger says the list of qualifying ailments has been expanded almost to the point of meaninglessness.

I also read that the Disability Trust Fund is expected to run dry by 2016. Coincidence? [1]

And what are the odds that, if Obama gets around to dealing with this, he will propose higher taxes?

([1] Tongue in cheek. Some leftists might not see the causality, but anyone who understands math, ought to.)

Did you really expect President Mom Jeans to fix everything Bushie McChimpHitler left behind?

    Racists. Every one of you.

I went to benefits.gov over the weekend, just to see how many Federal programs I am eligible for. I am single white male homeowner with an upper middle class income, a Master’s degree, and good credit.

I was eligible for 86 Federal Assistance programs.

    This is why we’re bankrupt.

An obvious ridiculous number of people on disability.

Heh, on the other side of things, V. I can’t take advantage of refinancing (HARP) because I play by the ruls, make my payments on time, and didn’t go through Fannie Mae to get my mortgage.

Surprised? Not really. Bitter? Hells yes.

But of course, Livewire, concern-troll mike, bigot rusty, and puppet Pat, who lied about their income, borrowed more than they could afford, and then skipped out on the payments can.

Which is unusual, since they get free food, free Obamaphones, free health care, and a nice fat check from the government for unemployment first, then disability second.

And if you dare even question cutting back on their free slop, you’re a homophobe.

The GOP keeps talking about “opportunity”. What Republicans have to realize is that Obama voters like concern-troll mike, bigot rusty, and puppet Pat do not want opportunity, because opportunity involves WORK. They want free slop for their trough without having to lift a finger for it, and that’s for what they vote.

This in a nutshell is why the US economy is fatally impaired. Barack Obama and Ben Bernanke are mortgaging 100% of our human capital production to ensure that 50% of our human capital never has to produce.

The country is only going to last, Livewire, as long as people like you, V the K, ILC, and myself decide to continue working. And I don’t know how much longer that is. I am sick of getting up every morning to put in a full day only to have nearly 50% of it taken away so that concern-troll mike can demand the IRS punish me for voting against Obama, bigot rusty can say my friends’ kids should have been aborted, puppet Pat can say my faith causes children to commit suicide, and all three of them being paid out of my paycheck to do it.

That is the reality of the IRS scandal. First, conservatives are being ordered to fund the organization set up and ordered to punish, harass, and silence conservatives. Second, Barack Obama and his supporters like concern-troll mike, bigot rusty, and puppet Pat want and will keep it that way. They depend on us being polite, tolerant, and accommodating while they milk us dry, take food off our table, and abuse us, our families, and our faith ceaselessly.

Until people who are working are bled dry to support the Free Sh-t Army. What happens when the country does become bankrupt. Obviously, Government growing at 8% per year on top of a stagnant economy is unsustainable. What happens when the country is officially bankrupt and the welfare checks start bouncing?

The retirement checks to the military will be stopped first in order to keep the welfare checks going longer. After all, we don’t want to finance such hateful potential terrorists as the former and retired military have been accused of, do we?

(Yes, I am being bitterly sarcastic–I am a retired military person who resents being termed, even in “only” a draft report, as being threat to the United States.)

Arkelk, I fear you are right.

My best friend is in the Guard, and is already having trouble finding providers who take Tricare for he and his family, because their reimbursements haven’t kept up with reality, but Medicare’s has.

Higher taxes is one way to deal with it, although we should probably cut spending–including cutting spending on Social Security itself.
