Thank you for sharing this. I have a good friend who wasn’t even a teenager yet when Reagan was first elected as President and the opinions he had about Pres. Reagan were apparently the typical “gay collective” opinions, his influence coming from his party friends at the time. Partly because of me, he started watching some old video footage of Reagan speeches and came to realize that Reagan was actually awesome, and not at all the horrible man his previous friends had led him to believe.
I voted for Reagan when I was 18, my first presidential election. It was exciting finally being able to vote. I voted for him again in 1984, and did so proudly. I don’t think any President we’ve had since him can even come close to holding a candle to him…and I fear in my lifetime no one else will either.
