Conservatives take a stand against actor who slurred a gay man
(GLAAD gives the guy a pass: HRC silent)

It is indeed a topsy-turvy universe:

Leading Conservatives Call on Capital One to Fire Alec Baldwin

(H/t HotAir headlines).  And as conservatives call on the credit card company to fire the actor, the gay outfit which styles itself as “holding the media accountable for the words and images they present” has given Baldwin a pass.

Mean while, HRC is silent on the matter:

Screen shot 2013-07-05 at 4.01.13 PM

(Screen Capture at 4:01 PM PST 07/05/13)  That’s right; a search of HRC’s website for Alec Baldwin yielded no results, meaning HRC had nothing to say about the actor who slurred a gay reporter as “toxic little queen.”

It’s a good thing Mr. Baldwin’s daughter didn’t use the “faggot” slur.  If she had done that, then he would have been in really big trouble.)

  2. EssEm, all that we’re asking is that the same treatment that was given to Paula Deen for her alleged racial slurs is met out to Baldwin for his actual homophobic ones.

Anyone who doesn’t think otherwise is a hypocrite. Period. End of statement.

Baldwin has sent out his apologies. . .

But there are folk, yes folk raising a fit, about Baldwin with this twitter fit
anwhile, Fabrizio’s caving on the ad has enraged conservative gay group GOProud’s Jimmy LaSalvia and Chris Barron, who sent out tweets late yesterday.
Said LaSalvia: “I’ve just about had it with faggots who line their pockets with checks from anti-gay homophobes while throwing the rest of us under the bus.” He later clarified, “I was talking about Rick Perry’s pollster/strategist.”
Barron tweeted to a follower: “Rick Perry’s pollster & strategist is a gay guy. Totally disgusting.”

  6. by Donna Freydkin, USA TODAY

Update, 7 p.m.: Et voila — the apology, via a statement to GLAAD:

“My ill-advised attack on George Stark of the Daily Mail had absolutely nothing to do with issues of anyone’s sexual orientation. My anger was directed at Mr. Stark for blatantly lying and disseminating libelous information about my wife and her conduct at our friend’s funeral service. As someone who fights against homophobia, I apologize.

I have worked, periodically, with numerous marriage equality organizations, especially over the past couple of years, to achieve the very rights that gay couples are earning by recent court decisions. I would not advocate violence against someone for being gay and I hope that my friends at GLAAD and the gay community understand that my attack on Mr. Stark in no way was the result of homophobia.

    Many Thanks, Alec Baldwin.”

GLAAD’s VP of communications, Rich Ferraro, seems satisfied:

“Alec Baldwin is making it clear that the intent behind his tweets does not excuse his language, especially at a time when there were 11 incidents of violence against gay men in New York City just last month. As we all work to end such senseless acts of violence, allies like Baldwin are right to use these moments to reinforce support for the community and LGBT equality.”

Update: The feverish analysis of the case of Baldwin vs. the Daily Mail continues. Apparently, there’s an issue of time zones. Could the reporter have been reading the Tweets incorrectly?

Roger Friedman thinks so. Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, the subject of the media melee, agrees. “Some pretty bad journalism caused a lot of drama,” she Tweeted.

  9. Man, it’s been a hell of a last two weeks for identity politics. The SCOTUS decisions;the immigration battle; a White woman suing Paula Deen for racial discrimination, ultimately ruining her; Dr. Cornel West openly stating what Black “leaders” have been saying about the LGBT crowd for years; and conservatives demanding Alec Baldwin be fired over anti-gay comments. Almost impossible to feel left out. Unless of course…

  11. Hilarious, when you consider that rusty endorses and supports using the slur he’s screaming about when it’s directed at Dan, Bruce, and other gay conservatives.

So again, rusty, what you’re demonstrating is how you have no morals, values, or objective principles; you just spin for liberals.

And since we know that you lie, spin, and make excuses for liberals no matter what they do, your demands for conservative piety dances are shown as nothing more than attempts at manipulation and abuse.

Especially when we know you endorse and support violence against Christians.

So rusty, what’s the endgame? Since you don’t believe the rules apply to you, there’s no reason we should follow them.

  12. rrpjr, be advised (and be prepared for a followup post) that I think Mr. Baldwin’s apology is adequate. The issue here in the double standard. HRC releases at least two statements when Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter used a slur, but is silent when a left-leaning actor does the same.

You are of course right, Ted.

But the problem here is that the Obama Party and the LGBT community has established that speech must be criminalized and punished, and simply put, they will not stop until they fully and completely are forced to eat the sh*t sandwich they create in the process.

Conservatives cannot continue to operate asymmetrically in this. Bigots like rusty and his fellow bigots like Dan Savage namecall and slur gay conservatives and religious people constantly, then shriek and demand government intervention at any statement made about them. They have trampled all over conservatives’ tolerance and made it clear that they neither respect it or intend to follow it themselves.

So the only recourse is to fight on their terms.

  24. “I’m gonna find you, George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna f**k…you…up.” [@ABFalecbaldwin on Twitter]

“If [sic] put my foot up your f**king a**, George Stark, but I’m sure you’d dig it too much.” [@ABFalecbaldwin on Twitter]

George Stark, you lying little bitch. I am gonna f%#@ you up.” [@ABFalecbaldwin on Twitter]

Then the ever trustworthy Rusty brings us this Baldwinism @ #6:

“My ill-advised attack on George Stark of the Daily Mail had absolutely nothing to do with issues of anyone’s sexual orientation.

This apparently passes as an apology.

As I read the Baldwin Twitters, he named George Stark as someone who is a “toxic little queen” who would draw pleasure from a foot shoved up his rear and who is also a lying bitch.

I am unaware of any instance in which addressing a male as a bitch and a queen is not a clear, derogatory reference to the male being homosexual.

Therefore, I can not understand how Baldwin’s “apology” is anything more than a calculated lie in which he denies that he had no malice or slur intended by saying that George Stark is a “toxic little queen” and “bitch” who would like to have his rear end stimulated by Alec Baldwin’s own foot.

Baldwin, by his own words in the Twitter posts is openly expressing his bigotry and disdain for a particular person whom Baldwin maliciously addresses as being gay.

Then Baldwin “apologizes” by denying that he slurred the individual he slurred under the guise that the words he used “had absolutely nothing to do with issues of anyone’s sexual orientation.

So, Rusty, the yentas on The View and all apologists for the knuckledragging Neanderthal Progressives in their club [Alec Baldwin, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, David Letterman, Keith Overbite, Chris Matthews, MSNBC, and many more] should take note: hypocrisy explained by any other means is still hypocrisy.

Furthermore, to “accept” Alec Baldwin’s “apology” is to whore your own principles for “light and transient reasons.” George Stark alone has the standing to actually accept Baldwin’s “non-apolpgy.” But Baldwin has announced that there is no slur, thus there is no apology to be considered by George Stark, whether Mr. Clark is gay or not.

Other people have no standing whatsoever to step up and exonerate Baldwin. Those who do assume that standing are in league with Baldwin and are practicing to possess the virtue, standing and moral high ground which accords them the power to manipulate the basic facts and turn common sense morality upside-down. This is classic hypocrisy.

Baldwin, like the rest of the mean, bullying pack of Progressives live by the double standard of the Progressive elitists vs the sheeple and the “enemies” of Progressivism: Progressives do no wrong.
