Gheys Need to Stop Pretending They’re Just Like Black Folk

One may have noticed a propensity among gay rights advocates to compare their “civil rights” struggle to the civil rights struggles of the descendents of slaves. Mr. Adam Thomason provides five reasons why the comparison of the struggle is invalid. The article is worth a full read and thoughtful consideration… which is more than many of those in the comments section have given it… but the short version is this:

  1. Laws have never mandated “heterosexual only” and “gay only” water fountains, diners, buses, schools,
  2. Homosexuals have never been snatched away from their families at birth for the purpose of division and dehumanization.
  3. Homosexual men/women have never been targeted for slavery  because of their sexual orientation
  4. Homosexuals have never been denied their citizenship by laws of the United States  because of their sexual orientation.
  5. Homosexuals have never been as a matter of law treated as property because of their sexual orientation

And the takeaway…

To compare the struggle of homosexual men/women to that of African Americans is more than offensive. It’s wiping out 300 years of historical fortitude that saw a people fight to maintain the identity-legacy that was stolen from them on day one.

What the Fluke?

Ms. Sandra Fluke … a woman who came to prominence when Mr. Rush Limbaugh brought attention to her incredibly expensive birth control needs which, by her own admission, exceed by a factor of ten those of ordinary women… is contemplating a run for the Congressional seat being vacated by Mr. Henry Waxman (an individual in whom certain uncivil individuals have noted aesthetic deficiencies but who mostly ought to be criticized for the extreme leftism of his political stances).

Since rising to fame thanks to Mr. Limbaugh, Ms. Fluke has pursued a crusade to get Government out of the bedroom by demanding that Government force other people to pay for her birth control.

A propos of nothing, Wikipedia informs us that a “Fluke” is a species of parasite.

With adversaries like this, who needs competence?

You’ve got to to envy the dumb luck or otherwise cosmic providence of some sort that blessed the president with his political foes sometimes…

In a year when the disastrous roll-out (and soon-to-be-demonstrated even-worse fall-out) of his seminal achievement is taking center-stage, and lording over a presidency so listless that it leaves his State of the Union address so devoid of actual substance and ideas that even his sycophants in the leftist media call it “small ball“, leading a party whose members are either avoiding him at all costs or fleeing the ship altogether at an alarming pace, and to top it all off, the sixth-year itch problem, you’d think the GOP would be strategically and wisely keeping their powder dry and just trying not to screw stuff up.

Oh, but then you don’t know the GOP.

The same week that a poll is released from Quinnipiac that shows that (along with 54% disapproval for the president, and 43% “very dissatisfied” with “the way things are going in the nation today”) Americans think the “top priority” for Congress and the president should be healthcare (18%), with jobs (16%) and the economy (15%) close behind (“Other” is at 10% and everything else is in single-digits), what do they do right out of the gates? Well, they tackle the issue that received 2% support…tied on that poll of importance to their constituents at number nine on that list (far behind “Don’t Know/No Answer”, in fifth place with 9%).

Regardless of where you come down on the immigration debate, or whether you think Beohner is likely to get a deal through the House, is this the winning strategy to take advantage of the position the Republicans have at this point? Shouldn’t the leadership of the party be strictly disciplining its members to avoid at all costs anything like this that might divert attention away from their number-one winning issue? After all, now is the time when you immediately smack-down and censor anybody who flirts with his interns or fiddles with her fundraising to immediately quash anything that isn’t about issues that will help win the elections in November.

I have become very tired of the constant politics and gamesmanship and running for office that our politics has become. It’s maddening, really. But seriously, even in that exhaustion I can tell that this is a stupid move.

I wish in all my endeavors in life to have adversaries as short-sighted and inept as the ones the president has in the GOP of 2014.

Oh, Joy, the Left Has Found Someone New to Hate

Mrs. Cathy McMorris-Rogers – a Republican from Washington State – gave the Republican response to Obama’s Mandatory Attendance Campaign Speech State of the Union Address.  The deranged left has decided she is worse than the Countess Elizabeth Báthory de Ecsed (to the Google machine, reference non-getters). I would repost the many, many hate Tweets they have been spewing… but many of them use Bill Maher’s favorite word. And most of the others wish to perform physical violence upon her, because that’s what the left calls “civility.”

Anyway, it’s quite easy to understand the vitriol when you consider Mrs. McMorris-Rogers’s biography.

  • She’s a Republican
  • She gave birth to a Down’s Syndrome child instead of Wendy-Davising it.
  • She has given birth to three children while in Congress and has a happy family life,
  • She paid for college by working at McDonald’s instead the proper way (mummy and daddy’s money)
  • She’s a Republican

The left sure has taken up Emperior Palpatine on that “let your hatred flow” advice.

Update: TnnsNe1 wonders if Mrs. McMorris-Rogers would be more popular if she had a sugar daddy pay for college, then left him with the kids the day he finished paying her student loans.

The same network, MSDNC, that mocked Mr. Mitt Romney for having a biracial family, stepped in it again yesterday or the day before.

MSDNC later deleted the Tweet and claimed, “That’s not who we are.” That should provoke a LOL; mindless bigoted hate is exactly who MSDNC are.

Update: This too awesome. MSDNC apologized for the offensive Tweet and fired a scapegoat. MSDNC viewers were outraged.

Hate Chicken Spreading Hate Because Hate

Chik-Fil-A is one of the many, many, many things hated with the white-hot passion of a million exploding suns by the progressive left because its owners committed the unforgivable sin of disagreeing with them on the issue of gay marriage and are, therefore, a million times worse than Hitler, Genghis Khan, Gul Dukat, and Tamerlane combined.  (That last reference should send some of our leftist participants to the Google machine.)

As a result, Chik-Fil-A is nicknamed “H8 Chicken” by people who are cheeky and fun, and also by dour leftists who are cruel and tragic.  I use the name “Hate Chicken” in the former sense, as I do with all my affectionate nicknames.

Anyway, guess what those hate-filled haters at H8 Chicken were up to this week: Providing free hate sandwiches to drivers stranded when ManBearPig (a cheeky fun name for what the dour left calls Climate Change) struck metropolitan Atlanta this week.

Some of the drivers had been stuck in their cars for nearly seven hours without any food or water. So the staff of the Chick-fil-A decided to lend a helping hand.

“We cooked several hundred sandwiches and stood out on both sides of 280 and handed out the sandwiches to anyone we could get to – as long as we had food to give out.”

The staffers braved the falling snow and ice, slipping and sliding, as they offered hot juicy chicken breasts tucked between two buttered buns. And Chick-fil-A refused to take a single penny for their sandwiches.

The meal was a gift – no strings attached.

Sigh. So much hate in the world. How can a tender heart bear it?

Mr. Allan Brauer is a gay activist of the leftist persuasion, and was Communications Director for the Sacramento Democrat Party in California, until he told a Ted Cruz staffer he wished her children would die and was dismissed, because even the party of Mr. Alan Grayson has some limits. Apparently, the experience left Mr. Brauer unchastened. He had some rather interesting and eloquent comments to direct toward Republicans during and after the president’s little speech last night.

“I think I’ve said before that I think a speech by Barack Obama is a lot like sex, the worst there ever was is still excellent,” (Political Consutant Alex Castellanos) said Tuesday during CNN’s coverage immediately following the president’s speech.

Perhaps, Mr. Castellanos was referring to some other kind of sex. Can sex be tedious, vapid and stuttering?

The extraodinary part of this is that Mr. Castellanos is not a Democrat, but was employed as a consultant to the campaigns of Mr. Bob Dole, Mr. George W. Bush, Mr. Jeb Bush and Mr. Mitt Romney… which may explain a great deal.

Update: NBC News is not going to let a hack consultant prevail against them in a contest of over-the-top praise for His Eminence, Mr. President Obama. NBC’s Political Director: When You Think About It, The Story of the Veteran Soldier Who Did Ten Tours of Duty and Was Badly Injured Defending This Nation and Who Now Spends Every Day in Painful Physical Rehabilitation Is Kind of Obama’s Story, Isn’t it?

Mr. Obama’s Choom Supplier Beaten to Death by Intimate Male Companion

This isn’t a recent thing, but it is quite sordid, isn’t it? His name was Raymond Boyer, known as “Gay Ray” to Mr. Obama back when he supplied Mr. Obama’s “Choom Gang” with marijuana. His list of clients included many at the exclusive private school where Mr. Obama “spent the last two years of high school in a daze.”

President Obama’s high school pot dealer who (sic) he thanked in his yearbook for the ‘good times’ was beaten to death by his lover after a series of fights over flatulence and drugs.

Ghastly business, that.

Mr. Boyer’s post high school experience has a certain resonance with the experience of Millennials unfortunate enough to have come of age under Mr. Obama’s economic policies.

Since getting high with Obama and his private school educated friends he lost his job as the manager of a local pizzeria and ended up on welfare living above a car repair shop.

One expects this sort of thing from Mr. and Mrs. Clinton, but it is a bit of a surprise coming from Mr. Obama’s direction.

‘Barry also had a knack for interceptions. When a joint was making the rounds, he often elbowed his way in, out of turn, shouted “Intercepted!”, and took an extra hit.

Now, that sounds more like the Mr. Obama we have come to know.

If You Like Your Climate, You Can Keep Your Climate

Mr. Barack Obama, addressing the 35-40% of the country that still supports him last night, proclaimed that “Climate Change Is a Fact.”

At the precise time he was making this comment:

Also, my homeland looks like this:

The Climate Change Cultists (is that word too rude to describe people who fanatically believe that everyone must radically alter their behavior in order to avoid a scientifically implausible apocalyptic doomsday scenario?) will say, “But Climate Change can mean weather will get colder OR warmer, and there may be more OR fewer extreme weather events.” Forgive my skepticism, but is that not tantamount to saying, Climate change means the weather will continue doing what it always has done?

Mr. Albert Gore Wishes to Manage Your Fertility

Mr. Albert A. Gore, Jr… Nobel Laureate and Widely Respected Environmental Policy Expert… while meeting in Switzerland last week with a group of global dignitaries advanced the opinion that Government-run programs in “fertility management”  were essential to stopping the menace of climate change. And he highlighted as his example the dangerous rise in the population of dark-skinned people from Africa.

“Africa is projected to have more people than China and India by mid-century; more than China and India combined by end of the century, and this is one of the causal factors that must be addressed,” the failed presidential candidate added.

So, if you oppose the Government forcing third parties to pay for a woman’s contraception, that means you want the Government *in* the bedroom. But if you support the Government taking active measures to regulate human reproduction, does that mean you want Government “out* of the bedroom?

Or maybe the left is just willing to make an exception in this case because if we put just enough of the right kind of Government in people’s bedroom, we can stop the climate from changing.

P.S. Mr. Gore has four children.

Lefties: No moral self-confidence – and fearfully proud of it

I had a lunch discussion recently with two former co-workers. Both of these men are engineers in their 30s who are fairly hard-working, competent and successful, pulling six-figure salaries. In the free and dynamic America of yore, these men would be proud of where their choices in life had taken them. But this is 2014, they are white, and they are MSDNC-watching left-liberals in a “Blue” area.

“Mark” started saying how lucky he feels to be an engineer because the work is physically so much easier and safer than being a field worker or factory hand, and pays more. I agreed, while reminding Mark that the work is mentally exhausting, something much-demanded by society (the market), and something most people wouldn’t even attempt. In other words, reminding Mark that he deserves his salary.

As if to answer me, “Ross” instantly went into a description of himself as “born into privilege”, saying how he had never really chosen anything in his life, but his course has always been determined by the social forces pushing him along and granting him privilege. This was strange, because I know for a fact that Ross works hard, which is a choice right there. So I reminded him of the constant stream of choices that he faces – be it as simple as “go back to work after this lunch, or not?” – and how those choices affect his results, like having a salary or not.

I won’t bore you with too many details. The conversation continued as a debate of Free Will implying self-responsibility and pro-liberty politics, vs. Social Determinism implying “you didn’t build that” and re-distributive, left-wing politics. We didn’t get into politics much; it lurked in the background.

But I want to tell you about the discussion’s ending. Here’s the short version: I was nice enough, yet Ross and Mark were red-faced with anger and embarrassment – because they didn’t “win”. I punctured their bubble.

At first, Ross could not process my point that all people have choices, by which they determine their own success. Asking near-childlike questions, he had me explain the concept over and over. “What if a person is born in poverty?” I’d explain how poverty is indeed a circumstance shaping the person’s life; but they still choose their *response* to it. Poverty may limit a person’s range of choices, but even poor people still face a stream of choices, that only ends when a person dies.

If a poor person joins a gang or develops a drug habit – and sticks with it, in adult life – that’s a series of choices they made. Likewise if, for better success, they work hard to get a G.E.D. and become a shift manager at the local McDonald’s, it is a series of choices they made. Likewise, my life-long self-education has been a choice. Thus I explained.

As Ross caught on, he correctly saw the implication that the McDonald’s shift manager would *deserve* her success being greater than the gang member’s or drug addict’s – just as he, Mark and I each deserve our success. And Ross didn’t like that idea. Smiling his best “Jane, you ignorant slut” type of patronizing smile, he suggested that I was out to rationalize backward, unjust notions.

With a smile right back, I pointed out that nobody was rationalizing anything; my success having come from my hard work and personal choices was not a rationalization, but a fact; and a fact that his determinist philosophy badly needed to deal with. That was the exact moment when Ross turned beet-red.

His words turned sarcastic (suggesting anger), while his voice turned quavery (suggesting anxiety). I could see that Mark, now silent, was also getting red – with a deer-in-the-headlights look of uncertainty around his eyes.

Mind you, nobody raised voices in this discussion; nobody called names or made the least of personal attacks. All I did was display my moral confidence, my certain knowledge that I had earned my success – and imply that Mark and Ross should also be morally self-confident, as they had earned theirs.

My doing that alone, nothing more, made these two men visibly feel both uncertain and violated. The interaction ended there, as we’d run out of time. I think it says a lot about left-liberals.

Lefties live in a world where lack of moral self-confidence is a required personality trait. Humility is not required; leftists usually proclaim their beliefs with arrogant certainty. But among those beliefs is a dogma to the effect that no one, including the leftie, *deserves* to have any confidence or any certainty, since no one is ever better than the worst “poor” criminal out there. Any educated, enlightened person must genuflect and display his official, dogmatic lack of confidence that he could ever be right about anything. THEN he can go on to make arrogant proclamations (provided they are left-wing).

If someone shows a different way of being – if someone thinks differently from the leftie, and has moral confidence in doing so – showing, for example, confidence that her success is deserved – many a leftie will find that person threatening. Tactic A is to smile and patronize the person as benighted; perhaps tactic B would be ridicule. If neither works – if the tables are turned, if the left-liberal’s worldview is punctured or exposed as the hollow thing it is – then the average leftie will go into fear and anger.

For What It’s Worth, She’s Sorry

Mrs. Clinton announces in a paid forum, responding to a question from a car salesman, with no opportunity for follow-up questions… says that what happened in Benghazi is “her biggest regret.”

When I think about my own regrets, they’re like… not working harder in high school, not going to a different college, not hooking up with the tall redhead senior year. None of my regrets involve leaving four people to die in a terrorist attack and then lying about it.

So, there’s that.

Ever wonder where Mrs. Clinton would be without Mr. Clinton? Obviously, she never would have been a senator or secretary of state without his coat-tails. (Anymore than George W. Bush ever would have president had he not won the genetic Powerball.) Maybe chair of a Womyn’s Studies department somewhere.

Is the GOP Stupid, Crazy, or Do They Just Not Give a Damn?

Posted by V the K at 11:26 am - January 27, 2014.

Apparently, the GOP is hearing from their highly paid consultants that their best political and electoral strategy for 2014 is to alienate the base and cave to Obama. Consider:

Wouldn’t it be cool if, while John Boehner was sitting behind the SCOAMF on the dais tonight, he held periodically held up placards with the names Brian Terry, and the four people who died in Benghzi behind him? Yeah, that would be cool. But like the rest of the GOP, Boehner’s about as limp and useless as Bob Dole’s genitals.

You can attribute the GOP’s odd behavior to following misguided advice from consultants, a consequence of being in the Beltway Bubble, or simple corruption resulting from pressure from their big donors. I would hazard that the GOP leadership has given up. They don’t see any point in fighting Obama’s policies, and they never really bought into that Tea Party limited Government and Fiscal responsibility stuff, so they just don’t care. They agree with me and Mitt Romney that the country is unsalvageable, and have joined the “Let it burn” club.

So let me get this right:

The administration—whose latest foray into unobstructed, unlegislated, we’ve-got-this, go-it-aloneism was the fabulously ‘effed up roll-out of—is going to make 2014 the year of the Executive Branch takes on the world without the messiness of involving the People’s Branch of the federal government?

This’ll be something to see…
