Apparently, the real power at MSDNC is Rachel Maddow; and not even network executives dare to cross her. Ace reports:
Behind her back, colleagues call her “the queen,” a not so subtle suggestion that Maddow gets what Maddow wants. And what she wants is a network filled with young wonks such as Chris Hayes, Ezra Klein, Alex Wagner, and Harris-Perry, whose highbrow intellectualism can, she hopes, push the Democratic party, and the country, to the left.
I never understood the appeal of Ms. Maddow. Her act seems to consist of delivering vacuous talking points in a smug, condescending tone. And when caught deceptively editing video, she shrugs it off. Also, she apparently considers Melissa Harris-Perry and her tampon earrings to be a “highbrow intellectual.”
I bet neither one of them can make a decent sammitch.
And if her goal is to move the country to the left, how is that accomplished by making her network into a leftist echo chamber that no one who isn’t already a hardcore leftist would watch? And are tampon earrings, deceptively edited video and attacking the children of conservatives really what the intellectual left is all about? If MSDNC is the Network of the Intellectual Left, one must conclude that it is.
