Should an elected representative be removed from a legislative assembly if he is convicted of felony domestic violence. Not if he’s a black Democrat says the NAACP.
On Thursday afternoon, the Massachusetts House of Representatives will vote on whether or not to expel Rep. Carlos Henriquez (D-MA) who is currently serving a six-month sentence for holding down and beating his then girlfriend because she didn’t want to have sex. Strangely, the NAACP is urging the House to allow Henriquez to keep his seat.
The Massachusetts House of Representatives voted to expel him anyway. (Warning: Effing Autoplay). They must be racists. Two of those who voted against expelling him were women. That’s interesting.
