Do as They Say, Not as They Do

February 18, 2014 by V the K

Kevin Williamson has an interesting article on the massive wealth disparities and social divisions in the heart of progressivism. The Progressive Utopia of San Francisco, for example, has some rather interesting demographic quirks.

San Francisco, the world capital of progressive piety, has a population that is barely 6 percent black, but its population of persons arrested for drug felonies is 60 percent black. More than 40 percent of those arrested for homicide are black. In this bastion of well-heeled progressive governance, about half of the black households make less than $25,000 a year.

From this, we can only conclude that Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco is one of the most racist cities in the country.

I call for an immediate Federal Investigation into this city that is clearly pursuing racist policies towards African-Americans………… but we all know that won’t happen, San Francisco and the surrounding area is a Democrat bastian. My guess is that even the NAACP won’t dare call for an investigation.

Can people making 25k or less even afford to live in San Francisco?

I think liberals like to spout care and concern for the poor but don’t really care to get their hands dirty and if push came to shove they would want the dirty poor people taken care of just somewhere far away from their neighborhood.

I think the people making 25k or less a year are just about all homeless. San Francisco has the most hostiley aggressive, and one of the largest homeless populations I have ever encountered in any major city. I went there for a vacation some years back, and I will never return. I never saw so many “street performers” in 1 square mile. There was “The Amazing Goldy”, “The Bushman”, “Silvery”, as well as druggies and derelicts that had absolutely no charm. (The Bushman was actually kind of scary–had a large tree branch that he shook at people while yelling that they give him money).

The liberals who live there all feel good because the city gives cash money to the homeless. While we were there, the downtown merchants were trying to persuade the city to give them vouchers for showers, Laundromats, meals, etc. so they didn’t just spend it all on drugs and booze. The city gubamint said that it was wrong to legislate what these poor folks spent their money on, therefore they insisted on just giving them the cash.

What to say. Figures don’t lie, but liars can figure.

The Progressive backstory is that the black households are being kept from making more than $25,000 because of racism. The “investigation” necessary, according to Progressives, would be fueled by a compelling need for achieving equality, justice, fairness, shared humanity, positive liberty, ending the sacrilization of victims, taking down bullies, creating shared emotional resonance and establishing universal compassion and altruism.

The statistics should “offend” them as any elitist moral relativist would be offended.

Conservatives, on the other hand, look at the statistics and have every reason to assume that such an enclave of Progressive social justice would bend over backwards before sending a black person to jail. They would first extend every reasonable doubt in his favor to keep him out of the system. That is to say Progressive affirmative action and assumption of racial innocence would be in overdrive to prevent even a scintilla of an appearance of any hint of hitting the documented class of victims of entrenched, societal racism.

Therefore, my conservative notion is to sit back and let the Progressives boil in their own pot of oil. Not only will they boil, but, by definition, I expect them to tend the fires under the pot in which they are boiling.

Of course, it is also possible that the small but determined population of conservatives is causing the problems by trapping the blacks into a system of negative life stories.

The thing to do is to send conservatives off for the final solution.

Yes, and where is Eric Holder to investigate the disproportionate amount of blacks being arrested for crime? Where are Jesse and Al?

The other thing about San Francisco–the entire city smells like urine. There isn’t one place that doesn’t just reek.

Co-dependency at work. Progressives need poor African-Americans re. programs and feeling worthwhile as well as pointing to the legacy of slavery as evidence and thus the need for progressivism. And votes. Many African-Americans have been convinced they need progressivism in order to survive.
Liberalism/progressivism tends to create societies with a few very wealthy individuals and corporations at the top and a great many lower middle class and poor at the bottom. A thriving, upwardly mobile, independent, creative, healthy middle class that doesn’t need liberalism has no place in the progressive vision, a vision that is openly hostile to such individuals.

I don’t know about that; however, I’ll say what I always say when I hear some co-worker gush about the joys of shopping at Whole Foods: “I’m too poor to be that liberal.”

The liberal bastions of San Francisco and New York are terribly expensive to live in. I could not afford to live in either city.

The other thing about San Francisco–the entire city smells like urine.

On my first visit, when asked I voiced the same thing to the gentleman sitting next to me at a bar in the Castro. He became so incensed by my casual, nonjudgmental observation he had to storm out of the bar in a huff (actually, I said urine and pot, but I still don’t know if one was perceived as more insulting than the other)

When he cooled enough to storm back in, I was mildly amused to learn he was actually from NYC.
