There are a million fewer people working in the USA now than in 2007.
Today, after five years of Obama as president, we still have not recovered the jobs lost since the latest recession began in December 2007. The economy then was employing 146.273 million Americans.
More than six years later, in January 2014, the number of Americans employed was still only 145.244 million, or about 1 million fewer jobs. By now in the normal recovery there would be 6 million more jobs.
But remember, this is actually *good* news because it means employees have been freed from “job-lock.” And people who formerly had to work can now spend time with their families and make art and such like. Besides, Nancy Pelosi told us that unemployment is the best form of stimulus.
Unemployment is Stimulus. Depression is Prosperity. Obama is a Genius. And the chocolate ration is increased to 32 grams.
War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. BB! BB!
After touting the expert findings of the CBO when ACA was launched. Now that the ACA is turning out to be a dog, the left is attacking the CBO when the findings are not to their liking. I am continually amazed at how little the liberal “elite” knows of the workings of the CBO. The phrase “garbage in, garbage out” comes to mind.
We have a bunch of teenagers running the White House and the entire executive branch of government.
They’re doubling down on it, too: CBO says $10.10 min wage will lift 900k Americans out of poverty, and it’ll cost 500k Americans their jobs. Progressives tout the one but ignore the fact that those 500k will be forever locked out of the same opportunity. But they’re just acceptable collateral damage on the way to equal outcomes.

I wish they were that good. The teenagers of my day knew how to work a job and how to maintain their own cars–they had useful skills.
Today we have a community organizer in the White House and a motor boat skipper as his chief lieutenant in State. And a bunch of who-dats everywhere else.

The same with my generation. I was born in 1951. My parents instilled both the work ethic all of their five children. They also taught us to live within our means. Any repairs around the house were done by us, if we could do them. Back then you could work on your car, change the hoses, put on a new water pump, etc. With today’s cars you can’t do those things. The only thing that I can do is change the oil.
Yay! More chocolate!
What was that about hats, again?
So is that “seven million jobs lost or destroyed”. Then?
Computer chips in cars has made self repair difficult to impossible.
Obama wants to convince us that what’s happening is a good thing but that many people out of the workforce means those in the work force are supporting the non workers.
As the ranks of the employee have shrunk the ranks of those collecting disability has risen-there are a lot of people happy to live off the backs of those who are still working but this won’t be sustainable.
