Hey! Remember When Republicans Were Called Irresponsible Extremists for Wanting to Delay the Individual Mandate?

March 12, 2014 by V the K

Obama just quietly delayed the Individual Mandate.

Earlier, Obama told people who can’t afford the higher rates under Obamacare they should cancel their cable and cell phone. LOL. Remember when his cult believed he was going to pay for their gas and mortage?

Not only were they irresponsible extremists, but the individual mandate couldn’t be messed with because it was the law of the land.

Yeah, remember when Republicans were called constitution-destroying Nazis for picking and choosing which laws to enforce, and changing laws at will?

Wait, I don’t remember Republicans doing the second part. I only remember the Left doing the first (calling them constitution-destroying Nazis for…..some reason).

The article has some fascinating details. A snippet:

Keep in mind that the White House argued at the Supreme Court that the individual mandate to buy insurance was indispensable to the law’s success, and President Obama continues to say he’d veto the bipartisan bills that would delay or repeal it. So why are ObamaCare liberals silently gutting their own creation now?

The answers are the implementation fiasco and politics. HHS revealed Tuesday that only 940,000 people signed up for an ObamaCare plan in February, bringing the total to about 4.2 million, well below the original 5.7 million projection. The predicted “surge” of young beneficiaries isn’t materializing even as the end-of-March deadline approaches, and enrollment decelerated in February.

Meanwhile, a McKinsey & Company survey reports that a mere 27% of people joining the exchanges were previously uninsured through February. The survey also found that about half of people who shopped for a plan but did not enroll said premiums were too expensive, even though 80% of this group qualify for subsidies. Some substantial share of the people ObamaCare is supposed to help say it is a bad financial value.

    Emphasis added.

This conversation may be happening in the near future. Heck, it may already be happening now!

Teacher: “What powers does the Constitution give to the President?”

Student: “Whichever ones he wants to have.”

Teacher: “And what rights does the Constitution give us?”

Student: “Whichever ones the Supreme Court decides it gives us.”

Most liberals I know are fairly ignorant of political forces in general and “love” Obama because he is liberal and/or because he “cares” and/or his “trying to the do the right (correct, no ideological) thing” and/or “he inherited a terrible mess” and/or he has to battle Republican obstruction tooth and nail, day and night.

They are joined at the hip with their notion of liberal goodness and belief in conservative meanness.

But, such people are not completely deaf and blind little epiphanies of reality intruding their numb zone. The Won has boxed himself in to giving speeches at backwater junior colleges, union conferences and $30,000 a plate meet-and-greet shakedowns.

His reelection and his expiration date just about coincided. He has nothing left but the power to antagonize and wandering around the globe on Air Farce One.

Slowly, but surely, his sycophantic lemmings are dropping aside as the cliff ahead begins to dawn on them.

One thing about Democrats is that they will stay home in droves from the polls if they don’t have anyone to light their fire. Hillary, Andrew Cuomo and Rahm Emanuel are all sufficiently egocentric to believe that they are irresistible charisma giants who can swoop into office on the swoons of the little people. But they are yesterday’s fish.

The conservatives can take this one if they campaign against the malaise and promise to bring America back to a working economy with strong jobs prospects and fighting irresponsible government waste and intrusion.

The Democrats are stuck with promising to “fix” what they broke and soaking the rich is their only pathway for paving their road forward. That and maybe smacking everyone with a new set of consumption taxes. The party of tax and spend built their house of straw and big bad wolf blew it down and now they are running for the house of sticks.

Remember when a nasty, vindictive, thin skinned, malignant narcissist closed down all the White House Tours, National Parks and open air monuments because of SEQUESTER? The price for Republicans trying to slow down the implementation of Obamacare. Yeah, good times!

I have a feeling this will be the pattern of America’s future decision-making.

    1. Democrats do something ridiculous and disastrous.

    2. Republicans, if we’re lucky, stand up and tell them to do something that makes more sense.

    3. Democrats whine, shriek, complain, abuse, call “Rayyysist!”, wring hands, #BanBossy, hold America hostage with a threat of Treasury default (Obama fall 2013), curtail speech, launch IRS audits, etc., etc.

    4. Democrats, if we’re lucky, then do part of what the Republicans said – quietly, badly, and pretending it was their idea.

Sure, Obama’s basically a lame duck, now. But it couldn’t have happened at a worst time, what with the Middle East burning like an oil rig and Putin getting measured for his coronation robes. And besides, it’s a hollow victory, because we still have to face the fact that people were naive and/or gullible enough to buy his shtick the first time around. And when it didn’t work, they convinced themselves that he needed to be elected a second time for it to work.

Looks like the populace caught that terminal case of incompetent self-governance that Ben Franklin predicted way back when. All aboard the Banana Republic Express!

I love how President Vacation has the audacity to tell others to cut down on their luxury spending when he continues to live like a king off the public dime.

What makes it even more hackle-raising is that the increased health insurance premiums are due to his disastrous Obamacare.

But then, the Left has ALWAYS personified the argument of “rules for thee, but not for me.”
