The Genius of Sheila Jackson Lee

Sheila Jackson Lee is a senior Democrat member of the US House of Representatives. The Congressional Black Caucus wanted her to be the next Secretary of Homeland Security.

She also thinks the Constitution was signed in 1614.

“Maybe I should offer a good thanks to the distinguished members of the majority, the Republicans, my chairman and others, for giving us an opportunity to have a deliberative constitutional discussion that reinforces the sanctity of this nation and how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years, operating under a constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not,” she said.

The scary part is, she is actually smarter and better informed than most of the people who voted for her. Like that troll we used to have who thought the Constitution mandated budget priorities and had sections about welfare.

In related news of Democrat accomplishment, President Obama apparently does not know how to use a credit card machine, which is odd for someone who is better at running up debt than all other presidents combined.

White People Not Welcome at College Event

An email was sent out to the staff of South Puget Community College inviting them to a “happy hour” to “build support and community” for people of color. The email made it clear that this shindig was only for the racially privileged; white folk were heap unwelcome, and encouraged to segregate themselves.

The email read: “If you want to create space for white folks to meet and work on racism, white supremacy, and white privilege to better our campus community and yourselves, please feel free to do just that.”

So, was this a “microaggression” against white people, or is it more macro than that?

Karama Blackhorn, program coordinator for the school’s Diversity and Equity Center, helped write the invitation.

She sounds pretty bossy. Given the associations on her Linkedin profile [Most of the student groups she joined at Evergreen State have LGBT or “Queer” in the name], it’s pretty clear she’s a member of the Gertude Stein Fan Club. Seriously, though, why does this position even exist? Aside from sowing division and racism, what do “Diversity Program Coordinators” actually accomplish. Could the costs of running a “Diversity and Equity” department be better spent making education affordable for all students?

Chicago: Where Crony Socialism Meets Gay Blackmail

Ride-sharing companies like Uber and Lyft are seen as threats to the profits of traditional taxi companies; which have worked out cozy licensing and bribery arrangements with municipal governments (like NYC, DC, and Chicago) to protect their turf against competition.  In Chicago, Big Taxi may be resorting to extraordinary measures to protect their monopoly.

A trade newspaper for the city’s taxi industry has threatened to out five aldermen who it claims are “secretly gay,” unless the City Council bans ride-sharing services like Uber, Lyft, and SideCar.

In an editorial in The Chicago Dispatcher, publisher George Lutfallah said the trade publication “has learned that five of the city’s 50 aldermen are closeted homosexuals. In the next issue of this newspaper, set to be published early next month, we will disclose their names unless our demands are met.”

It’s also possible that the article the blog is referring to, or parts of it, are intended as satire. Some of their demands are on the order of “we demand that the letter ‘m’ be eliminated from the alphabet.” But the hostility toward competition from ridesharing is very real.

Is This Opposite Day or Bizarro World?

Republican David Jolly won the special election for Florida’s 13th Congressional District. You knew that, but did you know:

So, given all of those facts, how is it that the bossy Chairwoman of the Democrat National Committee, Debbie Wasserman-Schulz, can claim that Jolly winning this election shows that the GOP is weak and Obamacare is popular?

Tonight, Republicans fell short of their normal margin in this district because the agenda they are offering voters has a singular focus – that a majority of voters oppose – repealing the Affordable Care Act that would return us to the same old broken health care system.

Bossy LGBT Legislator Wants to Disarm Gays

OK, in fairness, her actual goal is to disarm law-abiding citizens throughout her state, which doubtless includes many, many gay people.

Another anti-gun bill mandating (this time) the registration of every firearm in the state of Illinois (plus permission slips to purchase ammunition) was introduced last month by self-proclaimed LGBT activist and progressive Democrat Kelly Cassidy. Representing state district 14, Cassidy’s bill is called simply: “Firearms Registration Act.” Cassidy’s goal is simple: She wants the Illinois State Police to know where every firearm in the state is, what its registration number is, who owns it, and where they live.

So, these same progressives who are outraged because drug offenders are incarcerated for non-violent crimes want to make mere possession of an unregistered firearm a class-two felony?

The sole purpose of firearms registration is so that the state will know where all the firearms are and can confiscate them more easily.  In places where gun registration is already in place, law enforcement is hard-pressed to come up with a single example of gun registration helping solve a crime.

Outlawing the private ownership of firearms is the ultimate goal of every gun control activist… and, not incidentally, every oppressive dictatorial regime.Gun registration is an essential incremental step in that direction.

Meanwhile, the deep red state of Idaho has just expanded the gun rights of its citizens. Thanks to this law, if some nutjob tries to shoot up a college campus in Idaho, there is a much better chance that he will be stopped by an armed, law-abiding citizen.
