In the comments to V’s post, Even Andrew Sullivan Is Disgusted with the Gay Left, commenter Donny D has kindly pointed us to Signorile’s scoop that proves the Left’s sincerity about rainbows and tolerance:
Dear Andrew Sullivan, ‘Left-Liberal Intolerance’ Did Not Bring Down Mozilla’s CEO…
According to Sullivan, the gay mafia has struck again, destroying [Mozilla ex-CEO Brendan Eich] and bringing him down because he would not conform to its thinking…
But…it wasn’t the Prop 8 contribution, and Eich’s refusal to renounce it, that eventually did Eich in. He was being defended by company executives…Eich only announced he was stepping down after it was revealed late Wednesday that he’d given money to Pat Buchanan’s presidential campaign in 1992, and later to Ron Paul’s campaign…
It all just became too much for Mozilla to bear…It’s about a company based in Northern California that has many progressive employees…
Get it? In Signorile’s world,
- left-wing progressives *are not* a Mafia that viciously hounds anybody who deviates from their orthodoxy of thought…
- because left-wing progressives *did not* destroy Eich over his crimethinkful deviation on Prop 8 (a deviation shared by a great many Obama supporters that year, 2008)…
- rather, left-wing progressives destroyed Eich over his crimethinkful deviations on Ron Paul, and on Pat Buchanan way back in 1992.
Which deviations naturally merit a campaign of personal destruction, making the destruction perfectly understandable within a proper concept of tolerance. (cough)
To be clear, I don’t like what Buchanan stood for in the 1992 campaign, either. But “that was then” and, rather more importantly, I get it that freedom is a 2-way street. “Freedom means freedom for everybody.”
And Signorile’s use of Ron Paul is fascinating. Signorile is saying, in effect, that consistent support for small government and individual liberty (what Paul stands for) is unforgiveable. Boy, I sure am impressed with the Left’s wonderful tolerance for freedom of thought, now.
Make them pay for this. Turnabout is fair play. Get power and use their own medicine against them. Refuse to hire any young people who volunteer for a liberal politician. Dox supporters of gun confiscation and abortion. Make them regret their excesses. Take their playbook and shove it down their throats. Make them too afraid to ever seek political power again.
I want to see the looks of smug superiority wiped off these jag0ffs’ faces.
I absolutely disagree. Two wrongs DO NOT make a right.
[Update – Maybe I don’t disagree “absolutely”, because such a practice probably should be *allowed* under general Freedom of Association. But that still doesn’t make it either right, or smart.]
Then prepare to lose for the rest of the time this country has left, ILC. Those young liberals will think nothing of denying employment to young conservatives in their own turn.
Was Sherman’s March to the Sea wrong? Were we wrong to firebomb Dresden, or nuke the Japanese? You win a war by making the enemy too unwilling to fight. If you insist on showing mercy to an enemy who will not show you mercy, you will always lose.
Indeed, I’ve written a great many comments about that.
Destroy what America ought to stand for, in order to save it? No, thank you.
Ain’t it the truth?
Time for some cogent observations from a legendary statesman:
Then what steps do you suggest people take to stem the increasing tide of Leftist totalitarianism?
Signorile and the rest of the pinkshirts are just pleased with the outcome; they are just working backward to get to the rationalization.
If the Left gets a taste of their own medicine, ILC, then maybe they’ll realize how bad overextended government is.
I’m open to suggestions.
John C. Wright had one last week, for Christian rightists (his post was linked from V’s post):
As for the secular rightists, one of them once wrote an essay called “How Does One Lead a Rational Life in an Irrational Society?” where she had this suggestion:
For myself, my plan is to tell the truth as I see it – and to remember that, apart from that, I’m *not* responsible for “changing the world” or changing other people – because I can’t. If most other people prefer to have a corrupt society that collapses, then that’s what we’ll have. I’ll still try my best to tell the truth about it, and to act rightly. My own actions and words are the part that is in my control.
But whatever the best answer may be, from all these suggestions: for me to become what I rightly judge against – for me to become what I know is wrong – is definitely not it.
And what you do repeatedly, you are. (or, you become)
Return love with hate? There’s a few thousand Crusaders who would beg to differ…
Every war requires men of good character to sacrifice their humanity to become warriors. That is an eternal truth. Why do you think so many veterans struggle to return to civilian life? Because somewhere in their soul, they know they are separate from the rest of civilization. It is the rough men who sacrifice the benefit of living unblemished lives who make life possible for the rest of us.
No, Wright said to return hate with love. (opposite)
I think many veterans would disagree. Including combat veterans; fighting men who had to kill, but who did so in a good cause and under morally reasonable rules of engagement, thus staying true to their principles.
One thing that I personally don’t have a lot of tolerance for is the “Our fighting men are a bunch of uncivilized psychos” shtick; not even when it is dressed up as a rightist praising our veterans’ heroism.
In a different thread, I raised this point:
Suppose that Brendan Eich resigned because the Mozilla Silicon Valley crowd was driving him out for contributing to causes demanding gay marriage. Suppose.
Would that make this story any different?
Heck yes, it would. Gay marriage politics is only acceptable when it flows in the politically correct direction.
Can some littlelettermike type of Progressive genius help me understand how some positions of social engineering differ from others so that one issue is intolerable and another must be tolerated?
heliotrope – In your hypothetical, we’d be hearing so much from progressive left-wingers about right-wing intolerance that there would be at least 5 more movies about the McCarthy era, next year.
Sorry.
These bastards, whom we speak about here constantly now, see your position as nothing more than unconditional surrender, and I have no intentions to wave white flags.
I believe in speaking to people in languages that they understand, especially if they refuse to allow me the exercise of my right NOT to engage them.
These people who cheer the Eich/Mozilla affair are just such people.
I’m willing to do to them most anything that they think is OK to do to people like me, who will not get in lockstep with their crowd, and its sick totalitarian ideas.
And I’m willing to continue doing that right up to the moment that THEY wave the white flag.
After that, I’ll will also be content to not hold any grudges, and they may go on and believe and do whatever pleases their pretty little heads, with one vitally important exception: any actions that reveal a belief that they have the right to deprive me of my God given rights to live my life as I see fit.
Which, if you haven’t noticed, is what they’ve been doing with increasing frequency (and attendant damage) for several decades now.
I mean to do nothing more than preserve me and mine, free from their fascistic fantasies, the pursuit(s) of which has lead to untold misery and death in this world.
I won’t let these pricks shovel any dirt over me, or those I care about.
Ain’t gonna happen.
And as I’ve said here before: they’ll learn to leave me and mine alone, or I’ll be the one laying them away under some piss soaked patch of grass.
Those are MY terms.
As the old saw goes: I didn’t start any of this shit, but it’s going to be me, and many others, who’ll put an end to it.
And I have no fear of standing before God and accounting for all of it when my time comes.
Here is another one —
Portland shopkeeper must explain her views to gay activists regarding her Facebook posts.
http://www.kgw.com/video/featured-videos/New-Sellwood-store-stirs-gay-customer-service-controversy-253902051.html
…”O’Riorden made a YouTube video highlighting the business owner’s posts, including an article headlined “Yes, of course a business owner should have the right to refuse service to gay people.”
Childs said she believes the idea but not the practice.
“What I believe is that…a private business has the right,” Childs said.
She went on to say that she would not personally deny someone service at her store.
“Absolutely not,” Childs said. “Absolutely, unequivocally, totally not.”
Now people like Sean O’Riordan must decide if that answer is enough, or if it means this grocer will get none of his business.
“I would say that I’m sorry to the people who I have offended,” Childs said. “I genuinely feel that way and I hope we can make amends.”
Childs says she will donate to a gay suicide prevention group as a gesture, she says, to make peace.”………
…and read the comments over there.
” Refuse to hire any young people who volunteer for a liberal politician”
I think we can all agree there is a stark difference between a CEO of a company like Mozilla and an entry level employee, Right?
Or has hyperbole overtaken logic around here?
# 15
“And I have no fear of standing before God and accounting for all of it when my time comes.”
The “logic” behind your little manifesto is virtually the same argument that Hamas uses to justify its terrorist attacks on Israel. I just want you to know the end game of what you are espousing here..
What about a WH petition to remove Firefox from all government computers due to Mozilla’s lack of tolerance of opposing viewpoints?
For better or worse, my son and I just created one here: http://wh.gov/lvarX

Yes, I completely agree with Jman1961 and Sean L!
Conservatives simply can not tolerate this any longer. If conservatives don’t want to end up being fed to lions conservatives need to stop hiring queers, kick them out of neighborhoods, out them at work, put them on the other side of the grass, and then picket their memorial services!
This plan is foolproof! There is no way this could possibly backfire on conservatives.
Sean and Jman, I’m with you. I’ve long been monumentally frustrated with conservatives’ unwillingness to FIGHT the Left, despite knowing what they mean to do to this country. That’s one of the reasons I no longer call myself a conservative. I understand ILC’s arguments, but he doesn’t understand that we’re at WAR and war often calls for drastic actions.
We entered WWII with only one acceptable goal: VICTORY, even if it meant using the ultimate weapon, which it eventually did. Did we betray our values by carpet bombing Germany and nuking Japan? No, because our defeat would’ve unleashed on humanity barbarism on an inhuman scale. Nazi Germany and militarist Japan HAD to be DESTROYED. “Without victory there is no survival.” So said Winston Churchill in his famous “Blood, Toil, Tears, and Sweat” speech to the beleaguered British people in 1940. It’s not overly dramatic to say we’re in the same do-or-die situation today in the culture war. The cultural fascists are on the march, only we don’t have a Churchill to rally us nor a Patton or a Zhukov willing and able to fight like hell to defeat them. Too many conservatives think like ILC, or are just cowards hiding behind pretty, moralistic words…words that won’t mean a damn thing when they’re disappearing into re-education camps for “enemies of tolerance”.
[deleted – name-calling]
ILC, I don’t think our soldiers are psychos. Sure, there are a handful of sociopaths, but the overwhelming majority of them are good people. What I meant is that they accept a level of moral hazard that most people balk at. They accept the risk that they could get a lot of people killed if they make a mistake, or do something horrible. For that, they have my utmost respect.
Pop Quiz:
Who rebuilt those two countries in the years after they were justifiably and righteously flattened?
You only get one crack at it…
Sean L – OK, fair enough.
Seane-Anna – You may recall that I don’t call myself a conservative, either. So, it looks like you and I have that exactly in common.
[deleted – absence of subtlety in the left-wing trolling. Come on, we need some kind of subtlety or intellect when we’re trolled.]
[deleted – Snotty effort to test the moderator. Don’t make me put you on auto-moderation please, because I will if I have to.]
I’d like to see ONE example of this in, say, the last 6 months.
Happy hunting!
1. I don’t make YOU do anything.
2. If ‘name calling’ is that important to you, and it is, why don’t you just ban me? You’ll still have the leftists trolls to make this place ‘entertaining’.
[Answer: Banning is a final step. Lesser steps include deleting comments, thread closure, or putting a commenter on auto-moderation. All steps are considered carefully, applied as may be needed.]
Fine.
Got it.
You can police the banter at this blog.
Not sure it’ll mean much when the country is falling apart all around us, but we all have our priorities.
[Thank you. For a short summary of recommended behavior while at GayPatriot, please read the text on the comment form.]
“Seane-Anna – You may recall that I don’t call myself a conservative, either. So, it looks like you and I have that exactly in common.” No, ILC, I didn’t know that but now that I do, welcome to the non-conservatives club.
Yes, Virginia – according to Bill Maher (that bastion of liberal knowledge), there IS a Gay Mafia:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2014/04/04/bill_maher_there_is_a_gay_mafia_if_you_cross_them_you_do_get_whacked.html
Own it, libtards. Own it and break your teeth on it as you chew it. (I’m looking at you, mikey.)
I agree in fighting fire with fire. Turnabout is fair play. If someone gets fired for contributing to HRC (both the candidate and the cause), then they should be fired.
Checkmate.
Regards,
Peter H.
Jman at #26, the answer to you pop quiz is “America!”, and I get your point. America rebuilt her enemies in her image, creating two free, constitutional democracies in countries that had no history of democracy, and the world is better for it. Likewise, if conservatives win the culture war they’ll “rebuild” the Left in their image, creating a DEMOCRATIC opposition where there’d been none. And America will be better for it. That should give conservatives all the more reason to fight, but I suspect it won’t.
The collateral damage has started as there is a movement on to boycott the firefox browser, which has become a rather crappy piece of software lately. Wonder how well Mozilla is set up for the blow back?
You’re right, Catseyes. If I’m not mistaken the boycott Firefox movement was started by Ben Shapiro of Truth Revolt. Shapiro is one of the few conservatives out there willing to fight the Left with its own weapons. He aims to destroy the Left and is unapologetic about it. We need more like him!
nobody is fired for voting for Iran loving Tammy Baldwin? Iguess leftist gays don’t care when homosexuals in Iran are hanged. Well, why should I care?
I’ve heard there’s a gay mafia in Calgary, Canada. Basically just a bunch of blue-collar and middle-class gay guys who keep an eye on their neighborhoods and do favors for people. Decent guys, from what I’ve heard.
“I think we can all agree there is a stark difference between a CEO of a company like Mozilla and an entry level employee, Right?”
Well, for starters, it doesn’t get in the news when a low-level employee is fired for not toeing the leftist line.
“I’m open to suggestions.”
For starters, I am going to do what I can to boycott anything produced by those who supported the lynching. And when these people are mentioned in conversation I will, now and then, point out that these are people who believe that freedom of speech is only for those who agree with them.
@ pst314: The “stark difference” thing was used by Protestant factory owners to justify keeping Catholic workers from rising to management positions. It was also, if I recall correctly, why women only used to be secretaries, and black people were stuck in menial labor jobs.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Liberal.
When the American Revolution was staggering around in its opening chapter, about 30% of colonial population was on board with the idea. the Civil War had an equally shaky level of enthusiasm on both sides.
The point is that events take on a life of their own as people stand back and try to assess them. Some events fizzle out and others carry through to a conclusion.
War is a literally fighting fire with fire. Then, to the victor belongs the power to mold and shape the peace.
This debate it about giving the Progressives as good as they give and whether getting down to their sewer level to fight them with their own tactics is acceptable. Or whether taking on Progressives by using their own tactics effectively destroys the merit and righteousness of the opposition.
That is a moot debate in the sense that the Progressives move on while those who counter them sit to the side and wonder what to do.
Fighting Progressives with a “fair and balanced” examination and explanation of the “truth” is intellectually terrific, but meaningless to the bumper sticker crowd which prefers Jon Stewart, snark and have ADD belief systems based on feelings.
Patton is credited with saying that if you “grab them by the b*lls, their hearts and minds will follow.”
Andrew Breitbart looked at how the Progressives staged their lies in order to manipulate their tools to pick up the mantra and he bulldozed them. He outshouted them. He offered huge sums of money for a shred of evidence that their claims had validity. He became their great nemesis. James O’Keefe has done much with his project Veritas. Glenn Beck has turned over more of their rocks than anyone. David Horowitz is a fascinating source for explaining their process and what they are doing. But mostly, this is preaching to the choir.
The common man in this country either toughs out a living on his own or he has formed a union with statism as his partner. The statist elites know that sooner or later they can hook the lemmings on something.
We have tried to play by the rules of maintaining the republic by letting the will of the people be in charge. But, now we have come upon the end days of the republic as it was constructed. The national government has usurped the power over our lives and “we the people” are now wards of the state power. Our representatives have become our professional masters.
Mark Levin is suggesting that a Constitutional Convention called by the states could reverse this matter by amending the Constitution. It is a cumbersome method at best.
Meanwhile, Obama has essentially ignored the Constitution and followed the methods of Napoleon by ruling through bureaucratic fiat and choosing what to enforce and what to disregard.
Those to the right of Progressives are having to assess how they stand with and against the Progressives and what, if anything, they will do about the present course of the country.
In 2012, I was shocked and blind-sided by the many TEA Party types sitting out the election. I thought the conservatives and libertarians would vote in force against Obama. Instead, they stayed home. I understand the concept that “maybe” the country will “wake up” if they get a good dose of what is in store for them. Maybe it works.
Now I am expecting 2014 to be a resounding message that the Progressives have overplayed their hand. We’ll see.
Obama lies, Pelosi lies, Reid lies, the MSM ignores the news and Jon Stewart mugs and lampoons and mocks the dim-witted, shiftless, rubes who are not Progressives. For the most part, the general population does not much care.
The left is filled with fake compassion.
They remind me of Pharisees beating their chests-asking everyone to look at them to see how much they say they care but it’s all a big show.
They want compassion and mercy to come at somebody else’s expense and if anyone fails to praise them or agree with them then they ostracize them, beat them and apparently with the gay left they demand your livelihood.
“Too many conservatives think like ILC, or are just cowards hiding behind pretty, moralistic words…words that won’t mean a damn thing when they’re disappearing into re-education camps for “enemies of tolerance”.”
You’re right, too many socially liberal “conservatives” think like ILC. Frankly, I’m surprised it took this long for gaypatriot.org to address the behavior of the militant left within the homosexual bisexual community. In present day USA, Oncale vs Sundowner Offshore Oil Services should have been your first clue.
I come to praise ILC, not to bury him.
I smell the odor of lockstep ideology overheating here.
It is a long way from Progressive to moderate and place to the right of that. Give me the area from Attila the Hun to slightly left any day. We can argue with good nature, take our loses and organize our wins without all the acrimony and caterwauling lies and victim melodrama that fuels the Progressive world.
If ILC and I agree 60% of the time, we can be friends and agree to disagree on the other 40% because we both love and appreciate the same general foundational course for our nation.
If ILC wishes to rise above the fray in some areas, it does not mean he is unreliable and it certainly doesn’t mean that he is a turncoat. It means he is not likely to be the guy to lead the charge for you. Good heavens, this is how all crews, committees, boards, real world enterprises work. Each has his talent and each has his differences. If you want uniform camaraderie, go the Progressive route where prescriptions and proscriptions abound and change daily.
Thanks heliotrope! 🙂
