Gay civil rights movement began to make sure people weren’t punished for who they were. Now look what you’ve become #gaygestapo @mozilla

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.” – Last Line, Animal Farm, George Orwell.
Yes, the heterosexual left is no different though really. The tentacles of statism are reaching everywhere and ensnaring all who do not tow the line of the day. I work with science PHD’s and biologists pretty regularly and the slaughter of non agenda driven science is in full force. Even U Mass. has decided fed funding is more important than real science. We are so screwed and I don’t just mean in the LGBT community, I mean all of us.
It was never about equality. It was always about getting back at those they thought were their oppressors.
I think this is called tit for tat. How many gays were fired solely because of their sexual orientation? After three years in the Army (late 60’s) and having been trained to be a restaurant manager in New York, eight months into the job I was fired for being gay. New York was supposed to be a liberal city at that time. I have let it go. As I member of Religious Science I saw the Laws of Cause and Effect, and Compensation to work. the company ultimately filed for bankruptcy and all its units closed. There is a lesson for the left. Let go and purge yourself of hate and anger. If you don’t it will kill the soul and whatever spirituality you might have. There is scientific evidence that hate and anger kills the body as it contributes to developing cancer. Live and let live. Respect the person and a right to his/her opinion contrary to yours and let the Universe judge the person. Forcing a person out of his/her job is heaping coals of fire that will require recompense. So don’t complain should it happen to you.
The rage of injustice (real or imagined) in their eyes frustrates them. But they can’t get to the real oppressors and only go after the oppressed, thereby becoming oppressors. Irony is pretty awesome like that.
Actually, they haven’t become what they hated.
They’ve become what they’ve always wanted to be.
Agreed, NDT. That is who the left is.
Time for a music break.
Every LEFTIST wants to rule the world.
Mature men and women, virtually always found in conservative and libertarian enclaves…not so much.
With this behavior in mind, is it any wonder that Putin decided to bear down on Russian gays? Perfectly understandable, from a realpolitik point of view, yet still repugnant.
One has to wonder if this intolerance on the part of the GLBT Left was an unavoidable consequence of the gay rights movement. Does toleration automatically lead to domination? Or worse, was toleration just a step on the road to domination? And if so, where does that put us queers who genuinely do want to be left alone, if we are suspect of subterfuge?
One has to wonder if this intolerance on the part of the GLBT Left was an unavoidable consequence of the gay rights movement.
No.
It was an unavoidable consequence of it being perverted by leftists.
By definition, it can’t.
But again, we are talking about psychologically-unstable fascists who are terrified of dissent, brook no criticism, and cannot stand the thought that other people might think differently.
Toleration was their weapon. Fascism is their end.
We are screwed.
As I just tweeted, gay-sex marriage supporters were warned years ago that their movement was crawling with fascists. They decided to ignore that in favor of pushing faster, and now it’s blown up in their face.
When you have losers like Aravosis questioning if this was a bright idea, you know there is backlash, big time.
No, NDT, Aravosis seems to be okay with Eich leaving. Because gay marriage is the only way we can achieve equality, and public figures need to be compliant with the views of the political elite.
His only objection is if the gay community is going overboard. But he’s celebrating Eich’s departure. Oh, and conservatives can’t say they’re being discriminated against, because they discriminate. Riiiiight.
Not that conservatives get a free pass in my book. A lot of them now strike me as dumb as rocks.
Mainstream Christians who believe in the biblical interpretation of marriage are not the enemy. We need them on our side if we are to defeat our real foes–those would kill us, criminalize us or seek to deprive us of our our rights by force.
I can remember when gay men were brave, ranchy non-conformists in suits, denim or leather. Now most are just PC Fem-Nazis with penises.
I’m going to dispute that, Niall. “Mainstream Christian” basically amounts to Presbyterian, Episcopalian, and Lutheran. I.e., mainstream Protestantism. And mainstream Protestant denominations are hemorrhaging members and are falling over themselves to whore themselves out to the ruling elite for some political and social traction.
It’s the Evangelical Christians you’re thinking of. And they aren’t bright enough to grasp the intricacies of the Progressives’ campaign, nor are they cunning enough to combat it. Their devotion to misguided and asinine Scriptural interpretations that were never embraced by the early Church or even articulated before the 1800s makes them vulnerable and deserving of mockery. And I’m not talking about stuff about homosexuality, I’m talking about Dispensationalists (Rapture) and Seven Day Creationists (Augustine of Hippo is laughing his butt off).
No, the majority of Christians in America are not the enemy. They’re obstacles, pedestrians on the street in the midst of a shootout or foot chase. They are problem only for the guy who has problems with hurting them.
Sean, just for the record, not all Evangelical Christians embrace Dispensationalism or the rapture doctrine. Most do, but not all. As for creation, the overwhelming majority of Evangelicals take Genesis literally in that they believe God, not some purely natural process, created the universe and everything in it. However, there’s disagreement as to whether the creation days were literal, 24 hour days or long passages of time. The literalists are definitely the most vocal creationists, but old-earth creationists exist. You are, though, completely right on one thing: Evangelicals are totally bereft of the cunning necessary to defeat the Left. Sadly, they have ignored Christ’s command to be “wise as serpents”, to their detriment and America’s.
I’d love to hear her expand on her thoughts on this.
Nature’s God anyone?
Sean L,
Lots of “mainstream” doctrinal Christians have relocated themselves into mega-congregations that have the spirit of evangelism without all the fundamentalist baggage attached. I have been attending these services world wide and they are very impressive in scope and reach.
I find that “evangelical” is a classification akin to “Neanderthal.” Evangelism, on the other hand, is the process of reaching out to those around us and offering aid and comfort and working together to spread the “good news.” As I interpret Pope Francis, he is in strong favor of evangelism and well he might be. South America has been largely abandoned by Catholic outreach and Christian evangelists have eaten their lunch in many places.
I am not in disagreement with your observations, but think you have not included an important and rapidly growing trend in Christianity.
