Progressives Want to Lecture You About Your Dating Life

In the Progressive Affirmative Action Utopia, you are no longer allowed to have a type, you are no longer allowed to choose whom you are attracted to; Diversity demands that you will date multi-culturally, otherwise, you’re a racist. Perhaps, there will be a well-funded agency to match couples inter-racially.

Since this is almost certainly provocative “controversial” link-bait from Slate, so I will link to the story on Weasel Zippers instead.

The Big Lie

In Colorado, Democrats are pushing the “Republicans will outlaw birth control” lie that has served them so well with low information voters.

Also, the Democrat hacks at ‘Think Progress’ are claiming the IRS targeted Progressive groups more than Tea Party groups. If there were any truth to this, the left would be demanding a full and thorough investigation of the IRS. They are not. This is just pushing out a talking point so Obama’s apologists will have a phony argument to make when the issue of the IRS persecuting Tea Party groups comes up.

Trivial Gossip and Uninformed Speculation

Hmm, so first, the FLOTUS goes to China without the POTUS.

Then, the POTUS goes to Japan without the FLOTUS.

And they travel to Hawaii and Martha’s vineyard on separate jets.

Do you think there’s any substance to those rumors that their marriage is… not happy.

I know it’s a trivial matter, idle gossip, speculation, NUNYA D. Business, but what the heck, not everything has to be about the obnoxiousness of the left wing or the impending fiscal and economic collapse of the United States.

Maybe Obamacare Really *Is* Working

Obamacare is working,” says the Preezy, and perhaps he is right.

If Obamacare was intended to cause millions of people to lose their health plans, it is working.

If Obamacare was intended to cause millions of people to have their work hours cut, it is working.

If Obamacare was intended to deny people access to top cancer treatment centers, it is working.

If Obamacare was intended to make health insurance much more expensive, it is working.

If Obamacare was intended to force people to spend more money for inferior coverage, it is working.

If Obamacare was intended to give convicted criminals access to people’s personal and financial information, it is working.

If Obamacare was intended to limit people’s choices of doctors and hospitals, it is working.

If Obamacare was intended to drive doctors out of business, it is working.

In Alabama, two dozen widow women have lost their health insurance due to Obamacare regulations. Which obviously must have been the intended result if, as the President says, “This thing is working.”

Gay Marriage Advocates to Gay Mafia: “Calm the —- Down”

Rather belatedly, a group of prominent Gay Marriage supporters has signed an open letter politely asking the Gay Mob to stop persecuting people like Brendan Eich and be more tolerant of people who disagree with them.

The signatories of this statement are grateful to our friends and allies for their enthusiasm. But we are concerned that recent events, including the resignation of the CEO of Mozilla under pressure because of an anti-same-sex- marriage donation he made in 2008, signal an eagerness by some supporters of same-sex marriage to punish rather than to criticize or to persuade those who disagree. We reject that deeply illiberal impulse, which is both wrong in principle and poor as politics.

As a viewpoint, opposition to gay marriage is not a punishable offense. It can be expressed hatefully, but it can also be expressed respectfully. We strongly believe that opposition to same-sex marriage is wrong, but the consequence of holding a wrong opinion should not be the loss of a job. Inflicting such consequences on others is sadly ironic in light of our movement’s hard-won victory over a social order in which LGBT people were fired, harassed, and socially marginalized for holding unorthodox opinions.

Don’t expect cooler heads to prevail; the real force behind gay marriage activism has never been the desire for equality, but the desire for vengeance.
