Obama Bypasses Congress; Releases Terrorists from GITMO

The good news is that Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl is being released by the Taliban after almost five years in captivity. That is good news.

However, in order to secure his release, Obama released five terrorists from GITMO described as “the worst of the worst.”  According to the Pentagon, there is an extremely high likelihood that the release terrorists will unleash new attacks.

Also, Obama violated US Law that requires Congress to be notified before terrorists are released from the prison complex at Guantanamo Bay. But then, Obama has firmly established that laws do not apply to him, and it is very, very racist to point out his lawlessness.

Obama needed the PR boost; the VA scandal has been kicking him in the pants for the past week.

And there is considerable debate in military circles whether Bergdahl was a prisoner or a deserter.

People are going to die because of this trade.

There’s an American Marine being held in a Mexican prison in Tijuana after accidentally crossing the border with legally owned guns. Obama isn’t lifting a finger to help Sergeant Tahmooressi.

I can’t help but think if a Russian Marine were being held in a prison in just over the border, Putin would send in Spetznatz and get that situation straightened out in a hurry.

  2. Didn’t RayGun bomb a place that held some of our people? Actually Bath house Barry already released tons of murderers, rapist & child molesting illegal aliens(I know the age of consent in mexico is 12 so its not their fault). 200 illegal alien murderers should have got our soldier free.

  3. I have never said this about the narcissist-in-chief, but I don’t consider him a pro American president. He seems to be a world premier, and that is a shame.

  4. Thank you, I was wondering about this incident. Also, I did not know that there were questions about the ex-hostage.
I don’t think any of this is right. We’re not supposed to exchange prisoners with terrorist organizations. It’s wrong on many levels.

  5. Tahmooressi is an illegal immigrant in Mexico and entered Mexico armed. Shouldn’t he be or have been in a Mexican prison? Why would I think there should be some price to pay for crossing a sovereign border illegally? Am I…wait…huh?

  7. @ Ignatius: Tahmooressi was new to the area. He had gone to Tijuana with friends to drink. He had declared the guns at the border, and they had been cleared. After a series of unfortunate events, Tahmooressi missed an extremely poorly placed sign and ended up heading back into Mexico. Tahmooressi signaled to the Mexican border guards and told them that he had missed his turn to go back to the U.S. The border guards were about to let him go when Mexican military forces showed up, overruled the border guards, and arrested him. They dropped him in the most violent prison in Mexico, which is controlled by the Zeta drug cartel. Tahmooressi was threatened with rape by inmates, brutally beat by guards when he tried to get away from said inmates, and has been chained to a bed for weeks.

  9. In the 1980s, when the Islamists in Lebanon took Americans as hostages, we sent “diplomats” with soft words and muttered assurances…and the hostages remained “guests” for years.

At the same time, a few Russian scholars were also taken, and the Politbureau sent the KGB with pliers and gelding-pincers to visit the kidnappers’ senior male next-of-kin. Very quickly the kidnappers freed the Russians with effuse-apologies.
