Because Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John F. Kerry have done such a smashing job with US foreign policy and solved all the problems in the world… putting Al Qaeda on the run, restoring global respect for the United States, keeping Russia and China in check, containing Islamist terror, bringing peace throughout the Middle East … Senate Democrats are proposing that the Administration move on to other matters of great importance.
The bill would establish a Special Envoy within the State Department, appointed by the President, to carry out the bill’s mandate. The Special Envoy would “direct all activities, policies, programs and funding relating to the human rights of LGBT people… for all bureaus and offices of the Department of State and in the international programs for all other Federal agencies….”
Under the law there would be a “global strategy requirement” such that within 180 days after enactment the Special Envoy must create a five-year global plan that will first “fully implement” President Obama’s 2011 Presidential Memorandum that first made LGBT the president’s foreign policy priority.
All other problems have been solved. So, let’s get on with the very important work of making American gays feel important so they’ll donate more money to the DNC.
BTW, if LGBT rights are such a big deal to the president, why is arming anti-gay Islamist rebels in Syria? Why does he treat the only country in the Middle East where gay people can enjoy the basic human right of not being put to death by the state for being gay — Israel — so shabbily? Why does he support the anti-gay Islamist Hamas regime?
Something’s not right about this. It’s almost like his rhetoric doesn’t match his actions at all.
