Reactions to the Gay Whopper [Viddy]

July 3, 2014 by V the K

I’m not sure whether it’s gay thing or a San Francisco thing, but either way, I feel like there is no reason to be proud to be associated with any of these people.

And just by the way, we are *not* “all the same on the inside,” whatever that means.

Hat Tip: Weasel Zippers

Do you think Burger King would ever release a “Second Amendment Whopper,” or a “Choose Life Whopper?” I am guessing… not.

Can you imagine putting those three to work riveting B-24 wing-spars for a 12-hr. shift 6-days a week?? **shudder**

A whole city constantly looking for validation. Needy people. Grasping & petty. I wanted to do violence to the female that was crying over the burger.

The only vignettes that bother me are the ones that use little children as political mouthpieces. What’s next — condoms in Happy Meals?

    Ig,
That would be a “happy ending” meal.

The most disturbing one was the two vapid blondes praising their friends for puzzling out the the anvil-moral that had just been dropped on all of their heads by the wrapper.

Actually, I think this is a good illustration of the gay culture phenomenon: people were convinced that the Proud Whopper somehow tasted different because of its unique wrapper and promotion. In the same way, people treat gay people who dress and act in a flamboyant/outlandish/indecent manner differently from gay people who dress and act in a normal, or “straight,” manner.

Gay people have two alternatives: single themselves out through largely learned mannerisms and behavior (state-mandated endorsement increasingly mandatory), or act like everybody else and gain greater acceptance. We can’t have our cake and eat it, too.

“Do gays even eat fast food?” They only stop when their ex- boyfriend that they stalked for 7 years works at an upscale restaurant

Yeah, subtlety is not… the left’s … strong suit.

Asinine. A gay burger? The jokes write themselves. Teens eat at Burger King. Something tells me the football team on Friday night is not going to run out for a gay whopper with special sauce.

Whoops, noticed the one girl is a brunette. Ok, so she’s the Gretchen Wieners of the group, then?

Wanna bet that there are those who WOULD pay more for that “Proud” burger? “Cuz they know that would make them, you know, “hip and cool.”

    Speaking of ‘validation’,

I’ve mentioned this before where Chase added some options to their yearly survey inquiring whether they are disabled or gay or an ally of gay.

    http://mirrorofjustice.blogs.com/mirrorofjustice/2014/06/brendan-eich-was-only-the-beginning-.html

He updated and said a second employee came forward and confirmed he saw the same survey. Lifesite tried to get confirmation from the bank and their call was never returned…they’re also hoping someone comes forward with a screenshot.

I would think such a survey could open them up to a lawsuit as the inquiry itself is inappropriate, none of their business, and the information could be used against the employee.

I am leaning towards it being true because recently I talked to a friend who works for NASA and he said on their review, they were asked if they were gay or straight and had the option of ‘prefer not to answer’.

@Annie, As a former cubicle dweller in a global corporate concern, I wouldn’t be surprised if this were true. The bigwigs in these giant companies have a tendency to just not comprehend a whole hell of a lot; yet come up with these “good ideas” in order to get along with every new thing. Whether its mandatory sensitivity training that actually accomplishes the opposite or to “better understand” their employees.
You’re right, it is a liability & opens them up to litigation. They make mistakes, thinking that they’re being pro-active.
I assure you, it’s a high level VP’s project to do this. In order to promote himself. However; it’s a bad idea & he should have run it by their lawyers before implementing any sort of survey. If it would have hit my desk, while being in the corporate nightmare, I would have made a call directly to our HR.
Chase is having big problems lately, with massive fines. It’s a weird corporation.

See, I’d be ok with the gay whopper if Burger King said that they’d donate $1 for every one purchased to some GLBT charity. But the fact that it’s a marketing stunt to show how much they love teh gheys infuriates me. “Let’s put a rainbow on it and those gays will buy more whoppers!” because as we all know, all gays will automatically buy it because there’s a f-in’ rainbow on it.

    Pandering at its finest.
