After dragging Thad Cochran, Duke of Porktrough through his runoff against a reform-minded Tea Party challenger, the GOP Establishment (cough — JV Democrats — cough) — led by the unctuous Karl Rove — is now training its guns on my hometown libertarian-Republican congressman Justin Amash.
Former U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra has said he’ll back U.S. Rep. Justin Amash’s opponent in the upcoming August primary.
Ellis has racked up several big endorsements this cycle over Amash, R-Cascade Township, including Right to Life of Michigan, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, the Michigan Farm Bureau’s political action committee and others.
Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers snubbed Amash, too, by appearing at a $1,000-per-plate breakfast fundraiser for Ellis in June.
Justin Amash opposes the NSA’s domestic spying, corporate welfare, and pork-barrel spending disguised as “disaster relief.” No wonder Karl Rove, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner and the rest of the
GOP establishment JV Democrats hate him.
Amash is still leading in the polls. Maybe the
GOP establishment JV Democrats should begin courting Democrat voters by doing flyers and radio ads calling his supporters “racists” and promising to vote for Free Stuff from the Government if elected.
