Y’know how whenever a conservative Republican loses out to a moderate, establishment JV Democrat Republican, the Republican Party is quick to say, “Now, be loyal, you guys. Don’t be a purist. Suck it up and vote for our nominee. You may not like him, but if you don’t shut up and get in line, the Democrat will win.”
Some 100 moderate Republicans have turned against Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback and endorsed his Democratic challenger Paul Davis, Politico reported.
Old-school moderate Republicans have lost their place in the GOP-controlled Kansas legislature. They blame Brownback, who is a fiscal and social conservative.
On a related note, it has now been definitively proven that the Senate GOP leadership funded a series of ads in Mississippi that labeled Pro-Reform, Constitutionalist Conservatives (i.e. “The Tea Party”) as racists.
I actually think the establishment GOPers hate the tea Partiers more than the progressives do.
One of the reasons I am not convinced the house IRS hearings will lead to much beyond grandstanding is that some of those establishment GOPers were okay with Tea Party groups being targeted.
I weep for this nation. Seriously, I don’t see it lasting longer than ten more years. Californians are seriously considering dividing up, because the state government is not listening to their concerns. Same with parts of Colorado and Illinois. Texas as a state may withdraw from the union for many reasons and take Arizona and Utah with them, then watch as other mountain states join them. It won’t take much more.
Craig, dissolution is the way empires end; and the break up of the USA may be the only way to save liberty; as the USA’s Central Government is hostile to that concept.
It would be better if the rest of the USA seceded from Washington DC, but a break up is the next best thing.
We need a Restoration & a Purge. Since the Dem (Liberals) have suspended (pragmatically) the Constitution, I don’t see a problem with taking advantage. There are some things which the Founders did not foresee; i.e., Marxism & its subgroups, as well as the infectious quality of islaaaam.
I’m more inclined to believe war will ensue rather than the breakup of the union for a minority of sociopathic homosexuals and bisexuals……..
President Ronald Reagan was both a fiscal and social conservative. He left us a few gems that are as appropriate today as back then. They united the Party then and if applied today should have a similar effect. “The person who agrees with me 80% of the time is not my enemy; he’s my friend.” The Eleventh Commandment, Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican. “My optimism comes not just from my strong faith in God, but from my strong and enduring faith in man.” Many of the Establishment candidates like to brandish their so-called conservative credentials claiming some sort of legacy from Ronald Reagan. But they tear down the TEA Party candidates. Both wings should sit down at a round table and reaffirm Reagan’s principles and Republican principles so that conservatives can say The Establishment agrees with me 80% of the time I will support him/her and not sit at home on election day.
