Update From the Futile Search For Liberal Left Consistency

The Progressive Left defense of Roman Polanski is, “Hey, the girl he rape raped is a grown woman now, and she’s okay with it. So, who are we to judge?

The Progressive Left defense of gay Democrat lecher Gerry Studds is, “Hey, the boy he molested is a grown man now, and he’s okay with what happened. So, who are we to judge?

The Progressive Left defense of Kevin Jennings is, “Hey, the boy he instructed on the finer points of cruising bus station toilets is a grown man now, and he’s okay with it. So, who are we to judge?

So, why is it different when grown woman Janay Rice says she’s okay with Ray Rice knocking her around once in a while?

“But it’s different because it was an act of violence,” simpers the progressive left. “So, rape isn’t an act of violence?” “Only if it’s rape-rape.” “So getting someone drunk and drugged and then having sex with them like Polanski and Studds did isn’t rape?” “Sometimes it is and sometimes it isn’t; if it’s a fellow progressive whose down with the struggle, it isn’t.” “As a woman, doesn’t Janay Rice have a right to make her own decisions without being judged.” “Not when she’s wrong.” “When is she wrong?” “When we say so.”

I have no conflict. I think Roman Polanski, Gerry Studds, Kevin Jennings, and Ray Rice are all scumbags.  Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Mark Foley, Bob Filner, Anthony Weiner, John Edwards, Eric Massa, Keith Farnham, and  Charles Rust-Tierney are all scumbags, too.

And if Janay Rice were to ask me what she should do, I would tell her, “Get yourself away from that man. He’s like MSNBC… Bad News.”

This is not a defense of Ray or Janay Rice, this is just a question: Why the inconsistency?

And does MFM saturation of this story have anything to do with riling up the feminist vote before a midterm election?

I’m just asking.
