The actress who played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies dropped in on the world’s premier wretched hive of scum and villainy… the United Nations… to deliver a lecture on feminism and to pester men to become feminists.
It was the kind of speech that the Hollywood left usually describes as “courageous,” meaning it reinforces the prejudices of the Hollywood left and will benefit positively the career of the person giving it. To the Hollywood Left, courage is Tina Fey putting on her Sarah Palin wig and delivering a speech about how gay marriage combats Global Warming.
The text of the speech contains not a word about clitorectomies, honor killings, or Islamic Law and its requirements that a woman produce four witnesses before accusing a man of rape. It was all about First World problems, which is why an actress who has made millions of dollars can complain about income inequality and hurt feelings.
Because the reality is that if we do nothing it will take 75 years, or for me to be nearly a hundred before women can expect to be paid the same as men for the same work.
I started questioning gender-based assumptions when at eight I was confused at being called “bossy,” because I wanted to direct the plays we would put on for our parents—but the boys were not.
When at 14 I started being sexualized by certain elements of the press.
When at 15 my girlfriends started dropping out of their sports teams because they didn’t want to appear “muscly.”
When at 18 my male friends were unable to express their feelings.
But given the size of that pile of manure, there had to be a pony under it somewhere and here it is.
The more I have spoken about feminism the more I have realized that fighting for women’s rights has too often become synonymous with man-hating. If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that this has to stop.
No kidding. as the Feminist Movement is led by women who totally believe stuff like this:
“The proportion of men must be reduced to and maintained at approximately 10% of the human race.”
When women hit 30 and their bio clock starts ticking they start blaming men for not marrying them even us gays. The important thing to tell them when they cant find any good men is that all the men that wanted to get married and support a family got killed off by feminism. Warn your str8 male friends not to marry an older woman with a ticking bio clock.
I’m certain Miss Watson is kind to kittens and puppies and I’m sure she washes her hands after visiting the toilet but why do so many people believe that appearing on TV or in a movie makes them expert on climate/politics/history/physics/medicine/philosophy/law. And etc.
“I’m not a brainiac but I played one at Hogwarts.”
