A bankrupt business in Kansas was found to owe the state some $160K in delinquent taxes. So, the owners have been forced to liquidate inventory to pay the bill. This sort of thing happens all the time… and as long as Obama is running the economy, more and more businesses are going to have to liquidate.
What makes this case different is that the business sold sex toys. And since the typical Democrat stopped maturing emotionally in the seventh grade, they naturally pounced on this story to attack Republicans… because SEX!
Kansas Senate Democratic leader Anthony Hensley pounced on the news of the auction Wednesday, accusing Republican Gov. Sam Brownback of selling pornography to balance the state budget.
“Brownback is so desperate to fill the massive hole in the state budget caused by his reckless income tax cuts that the state of Kansas is now in the porn business,” Hensley said in a press release.
[Ah, Democrats. Every problem is not enough Government spending, and every solution is a tax increase.]
This kerfuffle is also probably intendes to help the Democrats and the Media (but I repeat myself) distract the public’s attention from the fact that the Democrat candidate for Governor was caught at a strip club during a Police drug raid.
I don’t see much leadership coming from either Brownback or Davis. Good thing there is a Libertarian candidate to vote for!
You missed the point… I suspect the Dems want the “toys” distributed in schools at no charge.
The governor’s race here is a yawner (IMHO). I live in a GOP-ish area (Johnson County) and the few politics yard signs in my area are Davis/Docking and a Dem state rep candidate. My guess is that the GOP base doesn’t feel motivated to bother. I can’t recall a single Brownback sign.
The GOP message (tax cuts) doesn’t particularly resonate with me here in KS as, far as I can tell, the state is fairly well run. I’ve lived in a couple other states and I’ve seen firsthand that state/local governments can be far, far worse than they are here.
Our public pensions are underfunded and I’d like to see that taken care of along with reforms to get the state of of the pension business.
(Not to mention that, in some areas, a GOP sign/sticker invites vandalism from the Armies of Tolerance.)
