It’s a Bummer Being Joe Biden, Apparently

October 13, 2014 by V the K

VP Joe Biden sure has it rough. He has come to realize that to most of the country he is a joke, and his own party has no intention of appointing him as Obama’s heir apparent. The Democrat Party has a specific plan in mind — Black Radical Leftist, Then Woman Radical Leftist, Then Hispanic Radical Leftist– and there’s no room for a bumbling old white guy in their plans. This has reportedly left him feeling somewhat bitter and left out.

“I’ve been told Biden is depressed, despondent, and very resentful of how he has been treated by key figures within the administration. The party is telling him he won’t have their support if he runs for president. He was promised this support years ago by the Obama team. The problem is, the Obama brand has become poison to Democrats and people like Valerie Jarrett have made it clear how little they regard the Vice President. He’s out there trying to help raise money for the 2014 midterms, hoping that will lead to some donations for his own 2016 campaign, but that isn’t going to happen. Biden is being used, laughed at, and then pushed aside, and he’s finally starting to realize that, and it’s got him very upset. For some reason, it seems he really thought he would some day be president. I can’t help but feel sorry for the guy.”

And unlike Hillary, Joe Biden can’t resign and pretend he had nothing to do with the massive failure that — despite Paul Krugman’s protests to the contrary — is the Obama Administration.

The Obama White House, apparently, also treats Biden like an old fool and has gone out of their way to marginalize him.

Following the 2012 Election though, Biden’s role within the Obama White House has been increasingly marginalized to the point members of the president’s staff are now openly dismissive of the Vice President, often referring to him as “the old guy”a designation that is said to have originated from Barack Obama himself on the 2008 campaign trail.

Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett simply calls Joe Biden, “that clown.”

Ouch.

I don’t have any political sympathy for Biden, nearly everyone who pays attention of Presidential history knows that the VPOTUS usually is treated as the court jester….not the heir-presumptive. They aren’t selected as potential heir-in-training; they are selected to politically-declaw a clallenger, placate a voting-block, or to consign a rival to historical-oblivion.

Before VP Nixon, VPOTUS are forgotten to history unless they ascend to the Presidency by fatally-ill health or assignation of the President.

Truman wasn’t even briefed on the progress of the War after he left the Senate and became VPOTUS. He read about the war in the newspapers, and was newly-President THREE DAYS before the WH Staff wold allow him into FDR’s Map Room for the first-time– and that took the personal intervention on his behalf by Eleanor Roosevelt.

Qualye was a national-joke from day-one. So was Nixon for many of the Eisenhower years. LBJ was chosen to de-claw the wily Texan. Agnew? …Agnew?? Chaney is the outlier who tread constitutionally-dangerous waters in the Bush-43 admin. with real authority and influence over policy.

Baghdad Bob Biden has come home to roost with his birds of a feather fellow chickens and he has discovered that the hen house is full of old biddies laughing at him for thinking he was the rooster. Yosemite Sam McCain could not be reached for comment.

I feel sorry for him as a person, as I understand he can be a nice guy outside of politics.

From what I’ve read on contentious White House–House of Representatives or Congress negotiations, the White House staff better be careful what they wish for as Biden apparently was able to use his deal making abilities to keep things from becoming totally stuck.

I think it was John Adams when a very bored VP who said it was a position for one’s enemies.

How did the White House turn into a fun-house hall-of-mirrors? The White House IT-guy is the new coordinator for Ebola?

Shouldn’t someone with a medical and epidemiology background like the US Surgeon General of the Public Health Service be in-charge?

Oh, …that’s right, Under Obama we don’t have a US Surgeon General. Too “political”. So let’s put the tech-geek in-charge, the ObamaCare Roll-out was such a tech success.

I could almost feel sorry for Old Joe. Even in those rare instances when VPOTUS becomes the presidential candidate it is hard to shake off the past. Think back to 1968, when Veep Hubert Humphrey became the Democratic, candidate. He frequently to his audience ton the effect that there is a difference between Humphrey, the team player and Humphrey, the captain.

If Joe wants to jump into the water, he might use something similar. He could say that Valarie Jarrett, who is the only advisor to live in the White House, thinks she is co-President. The lady used her assumed authority to to isolate the President from most people having direct contact with him. She is responsbile for any failures of the present administration.

Politics is a blood letting sport and vocation. Numerous pols have worked hard and then been given the figurative finger by higher ups. Look at how Eisenhower treated Nixon, Kennedy treated LBJ (deservedly so), and Carter with Mondale. This is following in the footsteps of many predecessors.

Keep in mind that Obama, as a terminal narcissist, acknowledges that everyone he hires is less competent than he is to do their jobs.

Biden would never have been picked if he were in any way a threat to make Obama look bad. Which means, kindly, that Biden is an imbecile.
