Democrats have launched attack ads blaming Republicans for Ebola; claiming that “budget cuts” (there were no budget cuts) are to blame for the fact that there is no cure for Ebola. One of their bureaucratic zones is supporting the charge.
Dr. Francis Collins, the head of the National Institutes of Health, said that a decade of stagnant spending has “slowed down” research on all items, including vaccinations for infectious diseases. As a result, he said, the international community has been left playing catch-up on a potentially avoidable humanitarian catastrophe.
It is hard to believe the NIH couldn’t find the money to come up with an Ebola vaccine considering they spent millions of dollars trying to figure out why lesbians get fat.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded $1.5 million to study biological and social factors for why “three-quarters” of lesbians are obese and why gay males are not, calling it an issue of “high public-health significance.”
With progressives, it’s always a false choice between massive, bloated, all-intrusive mega-Government or Somalian anarchy. The idea that a Government should be limited in scope to those activities for which there is no practical private sector alternative is completely unthinkable.
