First off, we here at GayPatriot are in favor of legal immigrants and controlled, legal immigration from other countries. We simply oppose *illegal* immigration because of the importance of border security in the age of terrorism; and because it’s illegal. The people who have done it began their American journey by consciously breaking America’s laws.
As President Obama unilaterally suspended deportations of certain illegal aliens in 2012, and then last week expanded it to millions more, he has made clear what his priorities are not:
- Enforcing the law, as passed by previous Congresses and signed by previous Presidents: Not a priority.
- Defending U.S. borders: Not a priority. (Has Obama seriously tried to improve border security? Of course not.)
- Following the Constitution: Not a priority.
- Saving taxpayer money: Not a priority.
- Being true to his own previous statements and promises: Not a priority. Per link above, “In a Telemundo interview in September 2013, for example, Obama said that if he were to broaden the exception he made in 2012…’then essentially, I would be ignoring the law in a way that I think would be very difficult to defend legally.'”
- Racial and/or human sensitivity: Not a priority. Obama publicly reduced the people affected by his order to their supposed roles as people “who pick our fruit and make our beds.” (Guess he never makes his own bed, or cleans his own home? I do.)
Any of the first three points above – and certainly, all of the first three together – are violations of the President’s oath of office and grounds for impeachment. But let’s face it: as V has suggested, impeachment will never happen.
I blame the media because this is what you get, when a biased media covers for an egotistical President relentlessly: Hubris. Lawlessness. Government that is willfully, impeachably unconstitutional. With no accountability.
But speaking of the media, I must give some credit where it’s due. In the past, I’ve often noted that Jay Carney was Obama’s paid liar, and he probably still is, on some level. But even he admits that Obama is “literally” doing what he promised not to do. Also, credit the Washington Post for noticing how Obama’s pretense of innocence happens to be a lie.
So, what do you think Congressional Republicans will do with the illegal-immigration issue, from here? Up to now, GOP leaders have been soft on the issue of border security.
They’ve also been eager to be perceived (in the media, etc.) as pro-Latino. But I’m thinking that Obama just took all of that ground away from them: there is no possible way, now, that GOP leaders can ever be perceived as more pro-illegal immigrant or pro-Latino than Obama.
In that sense, Obama just took away any incentive that GOP leaders would have for compromising with him. I think that will blow up in Obama’s face. And I think he has just proven to the voters that Democrats truly don’t give a hoot about border security.(*)
NB: The first version of this post misquoted Obama slightly; the quote has been corrected.
(*) Again, because of its glaring absence from the Democrats’ real set of concerns.
There is no opposition party in Washington. There may be a few like, Senator Jeff Sessions, who cogently express opposition to the collectivists and the goal of a permanent “democrat” majority but that’s about the extent of the opposition.
At some point, Conservatives, have to come to realize we have passed the tipping point. The majority supports soft socialism. Unfortunately, socialism is the first step to the neo-communism of our age that uses capitalism to pay the bills.
Having run for office in a very blue state this past election cycle it became very clear to me how the hard left has overtaken every activist group. From gay rights, to animal rights, to the environment, to healthy food and every other activist group the hard left is in control. The majority of voters now believe that big federal government is the only answer to our perceived problems across this country.
We have learned nothing from history.
So, what do you think Congressional Republicans will do with the illegal-immigration issue, from here? Up to now, GOP leaders have been soft on the issue of border security.
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Period.
Simple version we would like the border arrest situations reversed of the twice deported sex offender cop killer, and the Cambridge graduate who speaks 5 languages + married to US veteran.

The Republicans are leaderless. They stand for nothing you can make into a bumper sticker.
One would think that having the 2014 wins behind them that the elephants would be organizing for changing the status quo. Nope. They are like the old lady pachyderms in Dumbo packing their fat asses together and ripping on their own members.
McConnell and Boehner are not conservatives. They are the leaders of the “other” party. Rep. Joseph Crowley (D) of New york and vice chairman of the House Democratic Caucus said this about McConnell and Boehner and conservative Republicans:
I think Crowley is right. McConnell and Boehner will not address deficit spending reduction in any meaningful way. They will continue to let the borders leak as they talk about possibly getting tough. They may push the pipeline through, but the sea of new regulations crippling energy self-sufficiency will remain in place.
Boehner is a fake-tanned, merlot sloshing, chain smoking political professional who is fully vested in the beltway culture of Washington, D. C. McConnell did not get properly scared by his near come-to-Jesus moments in his own re-election. He has six fat years ahead of him in the place that he thrives and where he can dole out a little pork to keep the homeboys from getting sassy.
Yesterday, Rush said this:
Rush is s-o-o-o-o right!
You can’t play the game with insane people on their terms. You find a Moses to lead your people out of the muck and mire of the fetid swamp of defeatism and self-pity.
McConnell and Boehner are not fanatic enough or clever enough to outwit the DemonizingRats at their own game. The DemonizingRats are willing to go along with demagoguery, rabble-rousing, dogmatism, community agitating, sedition, nihilism, anarchy, and much more in their lust for power and rule by regulation and undermining of our long proven Constitutional principles.
The presumptions of the presidency do not apply to Obama. He is operating on his own terms and he has backed his power plays with the mob. This is a perpetually lonely man who leaves no footprints and casts no shadow of his own. He has always had a faceless crowd of facilitators who scrub him clean as he sallies forth. And the truth is not in him. Truth is for suckers who want to be loved. No man hath the love of Obama nor the love for Obama that Obama hath for himself.
Here in my state where we have 7,000 people fleeing per month and fortune 500 companies leaving for greener pastures taking their good paying career type jobs with them, our state legislature, the highest paid in the country, is now trying to leverage themselves a pay raise. They make 79,500 per year plus per diem, perks, committee seats etc. for what is considered a “part time” job. Mind you we are talking democrats and republicans in a “bipartisan” reach across the isle.
Perhaps they should be given a waiver so they can move into Government Housing instead of a pay raise. I know for sure if they were working for me I’d be negotiating for givebacks.
Richard Bell’s points are well taken. It is a shame to see how the Republican Establishment has morphed into a “neosocialist” party. The TEA Party members should have three goals for this session. First, deny Obama funds for his new (and temporary) legal residents until the border is physically secured with an unscalable fence with cameras. Second, reduce the size of government, by consolidating agencies that duplicate services. In 1988, after Gingrich’s congress reduced government there remained 342 devoted to economic development, 163 to job training, 131 helping juveniles. Agencies have probably multiplied like rabbits. The Energy Department sucks up a lot of our cash. Job attrition via consolidation will reduce personel and will save money. Finally, TEA Party should start the ball rolling for a Constitutional Amendment for term limits in the legislative houses. We have one for the President why not for the House and Senate?
You’re right, Roberto. The tea party is about the only active non leftist group/org left that can speak to power. Until the “middle of the road” Americans come to realize how they are being steamrolled by the hard left the tea party is in for a long hard slog.
When I was campaigning this last election cycle the tea party was about the only group that wasn’t pushing for a soft socialist agenda. The senior citizen groups have been duped by the big government demopublican party and are scared out of their wits as to what is going to happen to them. Many won’t sign petitions when given the chance. They are afraid to put their name to anything because the government might take away their Social Security and Medicare.
It’s all so out in the open in plain sight how the left is putting the squeeze on the people they have made dependent on them. Just wait until we have more illegal aliens voting than we have citizens voting.
Richard, we conservatives need to present a united front to both the Establishment RINOS, and the leftist elites. I have placed my hopes and support for the Heritage Foundation.
It’s going to take a few decades, Roberto. So many people are now fully or partially dependent on the federal government for their daily survival we will need a booming economy to return things to “normal.” So much damage has been done in so many sectors like energy that it will take more than “flipping a switch” to make us whole again.
Add to it all the illegal aliens that in the end will get amnesty no matter what Obama says now and the legal immigrants in sectors like Sillycon Valley already and it’s easy to see the mess we are in.
Did anyone-else catch him giving the Sign of the Cross blessing to the two turkeys while his daughters looked-on to 110% embarrassment? Apparently Obama thnks he’s the Pope, as-well as Emperor.
