HotAir had this clip a few days ago, making the point that President Obama is flailing on his Egypt policy. I’m more into the “human interest” side of it.
The State Dept. spokeswoman has only meaningless answers on Egypt. Her smile frozen, she delivers her lines to her skeptical audience in a patronizing tone. When it’s over, she confessionally mutters, “That Egypt line is ridiculous.”
I almost feel sorry for her. But, if being Bree on Desperate Housewives were my job, I’d quit.

Help stop the Obama’s war on women, he really is making them bleed, by treating menstrual pads under the medical device tax.

I take small issue with the post’s headline.
Jay Carney and his successor, Josh Earnest, were and are not liars. Every word they spoke was personally approved if not written by the better speech writer than his speech writers, better policy wonk than his policy wonks President. Every paraphrase of theirs was personally vetted by that same President. The lies are Obama’s; he was simply speaking with their voice apparatuses.
So it is, I think, with Jen Psaki and her occasional stand-in, Marie Harf, with these caveats. I’m not convinced the motorboat skipper or his predecessor, the ex-First Lady, are as capable as our President, so it seems more likely that Psaki and Harf write their own lines. However, it’s also unclear to me that that these two women have the intellectual capacity to discriminate fiction from truth, and so I’m not sure they’re capable of forming a lie.
Psaki’ls performance in the clip illustrates that intellectual capacity; although her “off-mic” aside indicates that she’s not the one who came up with the line she attempted repeatedly to read.

I’m surprised Jeff has a familiarity with Desperate Housewives!
I watched the first four seasons, then lost interest. I still think Shawn Pyfrom is cute.
