A Reminder: Detroit Is a Sewer Cesspool

February 21, 2015 by V the K

Last month, there was a brief internet infatuation with James Robertson, a resident of the Democrat Stronghold of Detroit, Michigan. People were inspired by his 20 mile daily commute… on foot… to his factory job, and were so moved that they raised over $3oo,000 for him on GoFundMe, and a local Ford dealership presented him with a new car. And this was all done voluntary, without any bureaucratic coercion from the Federal Government, because people wanted to show support for someone who demonstrated good values and a good work ethic.

But after his story went viral, the parasites who make up the city that has been run (into the ground) by progressive left Democrats for fifty years decided that Robertson should… gee, how to say it… “Spread the wealth around.”

After that, everybody knew him. And everybody wanted something. The neighborhood started showing up on his porch with their palms out, though Robertson has yet to receive any of the money. His girlfriend — the one who owns the house and charges him 200 bucks for the bedroom — demanded a payout, he said. So did her ex-husband who lives with them. So did her adult son who lives with them. So did the other dude who lives with them.

Safe bet that none of those people would ever walk 20 miles a day to get to a job. The upshot is, Robertson had to move to a secret location, under police protection, because in Detroit, if people think you have some money, they will kill you to get to it.

I just wonder where they got the idea that just taking stuff from people who are better off than you was fair and just.

Dr. Ben Carson wrote, “Go down to the fish market and look into the crab barrel. They never have to put a lid on it because if one crab starts to crawl out, the others will grab onto him and pull him back down. That’s what negative peer pressure does.”

Nagasaki and Hiroshima were obliterated and rebuilt themselves into giant, important cities. Detroit turned into a ghetto and consumed itself, body and soul. All the government money which was poured into Detroit by the truckload was siphoned off by the political machinery and the vortex of the city going down the sewer grew faster and more voracious.

James Robertson has taken his place as the latest host to be sucked lifeless by the parasites of a culture of victimhood. He is the fat and juicy target of social justice for being out of step with the egalitarian drumbeat. Every one of those people can claim they would have shared their sammich wit him if the foot was on the other shoe, or sumpin.

Detroit used to have the best public schools in the US & was called the Paris of the west for it architecture/culture, now they can’t even keep the streetlights on. Detroit would sink down to Zimbabwe if not for Federal money coming in. The 47% functional illiteracy rate can’t be blamed on whitey because there hasn’t been a whitey in power for 40+ years.

I spent a night in Detroit in 1999, and it was a hellhole then with huge potholes and lots of blight. It must be really a tragedy now. BTW, they don’t plow most residential streets in Detroit anymore, so when it snows, the people better hope for a thaw.

I’m not sure I agree with calling Detroit a “sewer.” Usually sewers actually work – they carry waste and waste water away. That’s not true in Detroit’s case. Cesspool would be a better description.

Calling Detroit a sewer is an insult to good plumbing.

    There. Better?

Would have been interesting if McDuff had talked to the parasites and asked them why they felt entitled to Robertson’s money?
