Dan Savage Still a Miserable, Hateful Person

March 3, 2015 by V the K

From Newsbusters

Radical LGBT activist Dan Savage plumbed new depths of lewd anti-Catholicism in a series of Twitter posts on Saturday. The hypocritical “anti-bullying” activist pointed out how a “‘repair’ on this statue of John Paul II makes him look like he just stuck 2 fingers in a squeaky clean altar boy.”

Left-wing anti-Christians still dredge up the Catholic molestation scandals from 30-40 years ago and act like it’s an ongoing thing even though the Church has cleaned up its act in that department. Whenever you hear about a molestation scandal, it’s almost always some middle-aged dude “remembering” that he was molested back in the 1970s and demanding money. While it’s true that those things did happen and church officials handled them terribly at the time, it’s not something that’s common.

One place where sexual abuse of minors is a common occurrence and where officials still cover it up is in the American Public Schools System. But since Teacher’s Unions are part of the Grand Coalition of the Left and give generously to Democrat Campaigns, Dan Savage and the rest of the left give them a complete pass for their sexual abuse.

Hardly a month goes by without the media reporting that a teacher has “had sex with a pupil” (aka sexual assault in legal terms). Increasingly the teachers are females targeting 15 year old boys with highly charged hormones. I don’t see much information about lawsuits being filed against school districts either.

I remember the “women in tech” where a Philly woman computer teacher used school issued laptops to spy on students and wasn’t smart enough to purge her home computer of images in the week between when allegations came out and her computer searched. If she did equal work for equal pay she could have replaced the hard drive, or done a Lois Lerner. I wonder how many busybody leftists wish they could spy like that.

The fact that the statue in question is of Pope St. Pius X speaks volumes to the intelligence level of Mr. Savage. The prank speaks to his maturity.

I have seen Mr. Savage on TV. He was a vulgar potty mouth. If you want to convince people of the rightness of your beliefs, don’t you want to act like you are a grownup? I really don’t understand these people.

While sexual abuses of minors by priests and ministers is serious, it was not really the issue for the left. It was a tool to diminish the credibility, the authority, and the loyalty of parishioners to their church and clergy. Physical and verbal abuse reported by minors to the teacher results in an arrest complaint filed by the school. A few years ago I worked with a Philipino woman who emigrated with her family and settled in Indiana. Her daughter was a middle school student, who had received good grades, but one period slacked off and received a couple of poor or failing grades. She was embarrassed to let her father, who usually signed the report card, see it so she forged his name. A few days later he received a call from the school asking why he hasn’t gone to discuss her poor showing. When he saw the report card he advised the school that his signature had been forged. That night in using his belt to smack her butt a few times, the buckle left a welt on her thigh. The next morning she showed the teacher and said her father usually beats her. He was arrested while on the job as a security guard. During the trial he had a heart attack and died in the courtroom. Physical abuse was really not the issue, it was a tool to undermine parental authority in the home. Our children aren’t ours, they belong to the government.

When sexual abuse takes place in school, and the student reports it, the response is; the school has to investigate the alleged claim, because “we know that students often lie.” Very rarely does it go to court. The teacher is either transferred or a golden parachute is given. Sometimes the parents receive compensation on the condition they will not report the incident, to preserve the teacher’s benefits. Far more sexual abuse of minors takes place in or with public school teachers thanever took place in sacristies and rectories of churches.

Curiously, the Left has a long history of advocating or excusing the sexual exploitation–er, I mean “education”/sarc–of children.

Out of curiosity, has anybody ever met an “amiable” ex-Christian? By which I mean, a person who apostatized from Christianity not out of any personal vendetta, and simply out of profound theological differences? Somebody who is willing to critique the theology and even criticize the practices of members, but doesn’t bear Christians ill will?

Liberal ex-Christians seem to be truly miserable people, letting a god they claim to not believe in live in their heads rent free.

the statistics for child molestation at the time of the media-induced scandal in the catholic church were as follows: among the professions child molestation was lowest among the clergy, among the clergy it was lowest among catholic priests. that means your child was more likely to be molested by a member of the media than a catholic priest.
between 1949 and 1961 I attended catholic school for 11 of those 12 years. I don’t know anyone that was molested by a catholic priest. I never even heard of anyone being molested. it was only after the second vatican council 1962-1965 that it became a problem. 75% of the abuse took place in the 1970s.

the catholic church is the only institution that has addressed the problem and done anything to eradicate it. the last year I have seen statistics for it was 2010. of over 62,500 alleged cases of sexual abuse 8 involved catholic priests. too bad the public educational system or the Hollywood left can’t say the same.

@ Lobogris: Sorry Lobo, forgot about you! 🙂

Maybe you can clarify for me, but in my investigations into Heathenry, I’ve discovered that a large number of Heathens on both the Right and the Left despise Christianity, for being “weak” or “oppressive,” respectively. How prevalent are these negative perceptions of Christianity among Heathens. And how hostile would Heathens be if a convert to Heathenry wished to continue venerating Jesus in private?

@ davinci: Sorry, was not aware you were agnostic!

Sean L, It’s like my buddy says. “I have no problems with Jesus Christ. His fan club on the other hand…”

I’ve only met one other Heathen in person. Unfortunately he was killed on his motorcycle shortly after. From what little I’ve been able to learn or glean from a couple groups on FB and him…people will use any reason to excuse their hate. Saying it’s done in -insert deity here- name makes it OK.

I am still following one of the groups on FB because the owner and most of his followers don’t seem to hold any animosity towards Christianity or allow bashing of other religions.

As far as how other Heathens would react to a person claiming to be Heathen and venerating Jesus in private? I can’t answer that because I don’t know how others would react. Based on what I’ve “learned”, it probably wouldn’t go over too well.

Sean L., like I said, -insert deity here- is better than yours. There is animosity towards Christianity. The worst thing that I have seen, besides racism, was a meme showing Thor hammering the nails into Jesus Christ. It didn’t go over too well with the FB group I follow. If you’re interested in talking to someone who knows more about the modern Heathens, check out American Asatru Association on FB. Matthew Barker is the founder. He will probably answer your questions better than a novice like me. 🙂

@ Lobogris: Thanks for the advice! They got back to me. They said the anti-Jesus hostility is a knee-jerk reaction that fades over time in most Heathens. As to venerating Jesus, the AAA said that it’s a matter of fitting it into a Heathen worldview, and that the rightness and wrongness of a Heathen venerating Jesus would have to be a personal decision.

This presents a rather interesting possibility. A crazy idea that almost makes sense…

  23. Lobogris says

    March 5, 2015 at 12:05 am - March 5, 2015

Sean L., that’s why I like the AAA. My personal belief is that most Heathens and Pagans in the past didn’t care what you believed, as long as it did no harm. Unlike today.

  24. Sean L says

    March 5, 2015 at 4:11 am - March 5, 2015

@ Lobogris: That was my understanding of it, too. From my research, it took a while for worship of the old gods to die out in Sweden, because the natives simply adopted Jesus into their original belief system.

Funnily enough, it was Christian commentators who set me down this path. There was an article I read that talked about C.S. Lewis’ great respect for the pagan cultures of Europe; he once wrote a poem that boiled down to, “You think society is becoming pagan? You wish! At least they had manners and honor!” The gist of the article was, that in today’s society, a modern Christian probably has more in common in terms of values and morals with an ancient pagan than with somebody alive today.

The West needs gods more than ever, and I think the old gods wouldn’t mind rubbing shoulders with the god who beat them (maybe even taking their marching orders from him, but don’t tell anybody I said that!) if it meant that the West was saved for another day. And I think Odin wouldn’t mind helping out a god who could help him outlive Ragnarok.

Sean L, the way I see it…Christianity was so popular, Christians had to adopt Heathen and Pagan rituals and traditions in order to convert people. Or they just forced them. Whatever worked to gain power and riches.

The funeral for my aunt was very nice. Got to see family I haven’t seen in decades and meet some family for the first time. Will be doing my best to visit more often.
