Minorities want to create their own “No Whites Allowed” spaces. Apparently, segregation is the new Civil Right.

A Huffington Post article titled, ‘Ethnic Minorities Deserve Safe Spaces Without White People’.

The author, Aeman Ansari, argues that ethnic minorities have a right to claim public spaces to “share stories about discrimination without judgement and intrusion,” that is, judgement and intrusion by white people. She goes on that many students at Ryerson have experienced racism and that these spaces act as a forum where the ethnic students are protected from stereotypes and marginalization.  Furthermore, she states that this is crucial in order to resist oppression.

I picture Ms Ansari standing outside a Black-Only student lounge shouting, “Segregation Now, Segregation Forever.”

I kind of thought there already were public spaces that had been entirely claimed by blacks from which Whites were excluded; the city of Detroit, for example.

We had a very small Black population at my University in the late 70’s, and they had a Black Students Union room in the Student Union Bldg. They would complain loudly about being left-out, yet their “special place” was notoriously known as the “No Whites Allowed” room. …Go Figure. And all the men dated white girls and the ladies complained endlessly.

The best put-down of them and their snivelly, whiny, brown-paper-bag attitudes was delivered by one member of the even-smaller group of the sons of wealthy, powerful African elites that also attended our University. The proud son of a Paramount chief doubly-majoring in Engineering, born-to-rule and so dark-skinned that he was near-purple, disdainfully pronounced. “I’m Black, they’re brown…” And that was that. He hung-out with his fellow preppie frat-boys as-unquestioned equal, and would have nothing to do with the BSU.

This Ansari needs to see a shrink. Perhaps focusing on actual critical thought & logic would help her in life, otherwise she’ll just get put behind barbed wire.

For anyone to think this is a good idea & that it should catch on, is shameful & Huffpo is a pathetic rag for running this. Typical, Liberal BS. Let’s experiment & say everything we can about every subject whether it makes sense or not, just so someone won’t feel bad.

This “safe space” idea seems bizarre. If you don’t want the wrong people there, make it a membership only meeting. Once a meeting is open to the public, public accommodation rules should apply(ie, anyone who is not causing a ruckus may be there).

I find this paragraph by Miss Ansari interesting: “White people may experience occasional and unacceptable prejudice, but not racism. They do not experience the systemic racism that makes it hard for them to find jobs, housing, health care and justice in the legal system.”

By definition, racism is judging other people, and acting on that belief, based on skin color or racial features. The effects are different on different races, but basing that on racial features is racism–and it goes all ways.

(I like your story, Ted B.)

    Yup Vince, there is.

Several times, James Edwards has taken the word or statement of one person and said the entire group is represented by that group. His fear and hatred of Christians is well documented. Thus, by his own standards, he’s admitted he’s a paedophile because there’s gay men out there who bugger children.

I just hold him to his own standards..

Bigotry towards gays isn’t politically ideological. Those that tend towards this kind of ignorance have an extremely narrow view of life, usually of the sort that have never left their own little hometowns to see what else is going on.

IF I were the kind of person that makes grand statements that a whole group of people belonging to a political party “hate gays”, I’d be saying that Democrats hate gays because my experience of living in different places for substantial amounts of time has told me that Liberals (Democrats) despise gays in the worst passive aggressive way possible.

But, since I’m not that kind of worthless & thinking flavor of stooge, I realize that bigotry isn’t confined to political thought. It’s just a segment of humanity that varies through different periods of history & culture.

So, this unnamed & unlearned “person” who I’ve read over & over again claiming that Republicans (of which political party I do not happen to belong) hate & want to kill gays needs to get off that repetitive narrative & find some way of cultivating some objective thought.

The gist of their argument then, is that Jim Crow laws were legal after all. MLK must be rolling over in his grave.
