The Progressive Left was disappointed with the election results in Great Britain, so they did what spoiled, anti-social socialists usually do when they don’t get their way. They started a riot.
Scuffles broke out when the anti-austerity demonstrators, blaring hooters, banging pots and chanting obscenities, confronted lines of police outside the gate leading to the prime minister’s Downing Street residence. At one point a bicycle was hurled at police.
Police arrested 17 people, and four police officers and one member of police staff were injured during the protest, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.
A Reuters photographer estimated that a couple of hundred people took part in the protest, including a group of about 25 black-clad youths with sunglasses and face masks.
“Social Justice” is just another way of saying ‘Mob rule.’
There’s a very good chance those were paid protesters. Which nowadays are probably more the rule than the exception.
Socialism causes distemper. It breeds suckling pigs who butt their heads into the belly of the sow and squeal for more, more, more. The only alternative is too awful to contemplate; it involves going to work and keeping the job.
The welfare bureaucracy is living large off of the 90¢ they consume of every welfare dollar that passes through their hands while the mopes get the last 10¢.
Judge Jeanine Pirro Opening Obama Is Delusional!

Mao, Stalin, Castro (and coming soon to Venezuela) never allowed civil disobedience to fester and grow.
The problem with “free elections” combined with state socialism schemes is becoming readily apparent. Even if the protesters are from the rent-a-mob living in the shadows, they can still plenty of dissension and stir up a terrible stink.
From John Adams’ Address to First Brigade of the Third Division of the Militia of Massachusetts, October 11, 1798:
Adams predicted that political parties would ignore philosophy, religion, morality, and collective wisdom in order to promote their vanity, pride, resentment, revenge, avarice and ambition.
Benjamin Franklin mused to Thomas Paine: “If men are so wicked with religion, what would they be if without it?”
We have become too clever by half in our growing belief that our internal compass of “right and wrong” is some sort of common Global Positioning System which is picked up by a yet to be identified antenna in each if our skulls.
Sorry, but that dog won’t and can’t hunt. Baal, Mot, Kothar, Yamm, Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Apollo, Athena, Juno, Jupiter, Pluto, Minerva, Amun, Horus, Osiris, Odin, Thor, Balder, Shiva, Vishnu, Ganesha, etc. are all “gods” who left no enduring texts. They counted on clever priests and oracles to discover their divine will.
Free will is the “gift” of obedience or disobedience and the consequences that follow. But “free will” poses a complex question which is basic in nature: obedience or disobedience to what?
When and if a conservative is elected president I now expect the same reaction in America.
If this country ever elects another Republican to the White House I think we can now expect the same response here in America.
Niall, your comments #5 and #6 say two different things. It will be a miracle of a conservative is elected president, far more likely a Republican might be.
You might be right, though. In either case, “civil” disobedience might occur, just to remind the new president that NO welfare programs should be touched, and that the minimum wage must be increased, and that we must continue our war on affordable energy and the economic growth it allows. Oh yes, and we must not touch ObamaCare; as horrible as it may be, it’s so much better than the old system — at least for a few people.
An example for those who don’t believe there’s such a thing as paid activism:

The only thing the left likes about western civilization is the benefits office
Go Helio, or whoever’s manning that name now! “Adams predicted that political parties would ignore philosophy, religion, morality, and collective wisdom in order to promote their vanity, pride, resentment, revenge, avarice and ambition.” He’s daring to condemn parties and I think there’s great wisdom in that radical, obscure thought.
How bad would it be if parties were simply abolished and candidates had to get by on their platform and reputation alone?
eremon,
You profoundly misread my scolding and determined that I am some sort of bi-polar conservative-liberal or something.
Many conservatives are correctly damned for being bigoted by painting all blacks, all Jews, all illegal immigrants, all gays, all women, all whatever with an all inclusive brush.
When someone here intones that “gays” or “blacks” or “whoever” are imbued with a characteristic that applies across the board, you may rest assured that I, for one, will take exception to that form of bigotry. Even if it is unintended.
My objection to doing the Sambo number on blacks still stands. This site is not a home to that type of smearing and stereotyping.
The old Helio’s back. Only She or he could respond so nuttily to my aracial accolade. Please just quit, whoever you are, and let the “Dr. Jekyll” Helio take over for good, OK?
