Who’s More Tolerant? Westboro “Baptists” or “Moderate” Muslims?

May 11, 2015 by V the K

Steven Crowder saying what I have always said. The Westboro Baptists are an obnoxious but ultimately harmless little street theater troupe. A far larger number of Mohammedans want to kill you.

As a lefty, you live to talk about the Westboro Baptist Church. Even though they have less members that the over 60 Bieber fan-club, you give them a microphone as early and often as possible. And why wouldn’t you? In an attempt to justify your hypothesis of Christian hatred/extremism, they can make your case more effectively than you could ever imagine.

The only problem is that you and I both know they share nothing in common with mainstream Christianity. Any time they’re given the pulpit, they are quickly and universally condemned by Christians of all walks and denominations. Pity. You really were hoping they’d be relevant, I know.

Contrast that with the “moderate” Muslims you so fervently defend. The over EIGHT HUNDRED MILLION MUSLIMS (thats 800,000,000) either support Sharia law, support the killing of converts, encourage laws in violation of women’s rights, and yes, openly support the prosecution and punishment of anyone who draws the (false) prophet Muhammad.

Even if we take the WBC at their word (I don’t), they represent only themselves, not Christianity as a whole. And even at that the WBC has never advocated the murder of homosexuals. “Turn or burn” is meant as a warning, not two options they are giving you. On the other hand, ISIS, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the Muslim Brotherhood, Ali Muhammed Brown, the Palestinian Authorities… they not only threaten to murder gays, they actually do it.

And more people are waking up to that.

The big difference between what WBC says and what Muslims say is also that the Bible doesn’t support WBCs statements where the Koran supports Muslim statements.

I saw them in action on Christmas a few years ago; we were in Topeka and mom and I wanted to see the Tiffany stained glass windows in a church there, so we went to their Christmas day service. We first drove past a group of picketers outside a church, then crossed the picket line to get to the church we were going to.

All this and moderation re WBC too? Very noble!

There are those who DO need Westboro’s message: “Gift givers,” “bug chasers,” the extreme decadent liberals portrayed all too well in Queer as Folk et al. If God were to drop a lightning bolt on the Folsom Street Fair I like to think a lot of gays, lesbians and “homophobes” would be praising him at once.

I was a little bummed those slimeballs didn’t picket the funeral of the Garland TX jihadi, but it confirms what we’ve known all along–they’re cowards.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say they are the same…except…as a “Christian” group, they would be stepped on as soon as they used the Muslim methods. Whereas…Muslims get away with everything they do.

I am certain that if all of WBC was struck down by lighting today, tomorrow Soros would hire actors to be living Strawman Arguments. Several members where known democrat activists.

Another point-WBC has power over nothing. They have out there views and most people view them as wacky. wBC has no power to force their views on anyone much less get the government to enforce them.

The Muslims run multiple countries several of them already condemn homosexuals to death, imprisonment or some number of lashes. They have power and that power persecutes.

Come now, nobody agrees with me about the extreme, dominant sleaze factor in the gay movement? Is it fine with you folks for gay men by the thousands to parade around naked in city streets committing any promiscuous lewd act that strikes their fancy?

When does it become the right time for decent lesbian and gay people to start fighting back, at least rhetorically, against these destroyers of our good name? If Westboro Baptist is so terrible, so insane, so binLadinish, what IS the proper response to the SHOCKING GLBTQ EVILS I named above please.

If we’re after freedom and dignity, that’s one thing. If we’re sexual anarchists and a menace to public health, that’s another entirely. If GayPatriot is merely a nice cozy piano bar for us who do know better, we do it and ourselves a disservice.

    Eremon,

It has been a long time since libs have come here to state their “cases.” There are more than a few commenters who take their silliness apart and leave them babbling. If that makes the GayPatriot site a “cozy piano bar” then so be it. Thoughtful exchanges between site regulars still take place.

If anyone is interested in fighting liberal stupidity it is always possible to go to the lib sites and break chairs and throw bottles.

    Apparently, Eremon wants my attention.

Does this mean you’re not going to answer my questions, liberal version of Helio?

    Here are his questions:

(1.) Come now, nobody agrees with me about the extreme, dominant sleaze factor in the gay movement?

(2.) Is it fine with you folks for gay men by the thousands to parade around naked in city streets committing any promiscuous lewd act that strikes their fancy?

(3.)When does it become the right time for decent lesbian and gay people to start fighting back, at least rhetorically, against these destroyers of our good name?

(4.) If Westboro Baptist is so terrible, so insane, so binLadinish, what IS the proper response to the SHOCKING GLBTQ EVILS I named above please.

    Here are my answers:

(1.) No gays of my acquaintance are active in the gay movement sleaze factor. Also, I am confused by this: “the extreme, dominate sleaze factor in the gay movement.” I would need clarification before I jump on that tar baby.

(2.) No, it is not fine with me.

(3.) Any time is fine, by my reckoning. What’s your plan?

(4.) I guess this is the same answer with #3.

This kind of “notice me” appeal does nothing but preach to the choir. However, you have a propensity for painting with a broad brush. As a dedicated conservative, I have trouble with ideas like speech codes, political correctness and brandishing some unique power to give extra attention to what some call “hate” speech.

The mob is always aggressive against the mob they oppose; but they are still a mob. Public “promiscuous lewd acts” are already outlawed or contained. You may want to go to the Folsom Street Fair, The World’s Biggest Leather Event in San Francisco and hand out flyers. The city has worked this public event into its calendar. That is proof that there are enough men and women in the dominance and sleaze and extreme culture that the city would rather have them gather in one mega-blow out than to chase them around all over town.

But, like Christians handing out tracts at the Dearbornistan Radical Islam gatherings, there is always a lion’s den available for martyrdom.

For your edification, I am not gay. I oppose gay marriage. Many people on this site respectfully disagree with me on some issues, but very rarely are they obnoxious in their disagreements. We agree to disagree and move on.

You claim to have found a Jekyll and Hyde liberal/conservative bi-polar Heliotrope. Maybe you are a right-wingnut and true-believer who has no room for anything that rocks your boat.

A former student went off his compass and threw himself into female impersonation and spent his money on clothing and entering contests. He was constantly being beaten up from within the gay group he traveled with. He would come crawling back to me to be patched up until he healed and then he would let his addiction kick in and he would go back into the frying pan. My point is, Larry was a good person and I gave him Christian love right through his long decline and death. I buried him and bought the tombstone and I put flowers on his grave every year on his birthday. I would never let his “sleaze” overshadow his humanity. I guess that sort of liberalism makes you puke. I work as best I am able with offender aid and restoration, because I believe having a 10-15% success rate is better than a 100% failure rate.

Just what informs your political belief system?
