Love Just Keeps On Winning

July 16, 2015 by V the K

As anyone familiar with the progressive left would have predicted, the #LoveWins crowd has extended the expected level of grace and decency toward those who disagree with them.

Despite getting financial and moral support from some unlikely allies, Aaron and Melissa Klein, the Christian bakers who were fined $135,000 after they declined to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple, have also received their fair share of nasty and threatening messages.

One such response that was emailed to the couple on Sunday carried with it a cryptic threat for the Sweetcakes by Melissa bakery owners.

“The lord has spoken to me and said you must die for your sins and your shop will be blown up,” the text read. “I will be coming to you, I know where you live … Don’t fall asleep.”

How dare these people whine about their phony made up persecution.

Totalitarian governments label those who disagree as “mentally ill”. Accordingly, I’ve been reluctant to label progressives as mentally ill.

But the last few years has demonstrated that most progressives are unbalanced. The liberal claims of tolerance and “live and let live” are manifest lies. They say one thing but do another (and they’re viscous). The “walking the battlefield and shooting the wounded” metaphor fits.

I’ve seen up close and personal the reactions of lefties who don’t pause for a second when they’re of a mind to deliver an insult to conservative views but become hysterical and enraged when someone dares to question their views.

You know, the response should be about gay wedding cakes is this: ” You know, I’m gay, and if someone doesn’t want to bake me a cake then I will find someone else. Case closed.” Instead I see this tragic posts from GayPatriot who has clearly lost his way. It’s sad.

You know, if the decision had gone the other way, there would no doubt be some on our side of the issue who would behave with equal ill grace to their opponents. But I like to think that the difference is, ar least some people on our side would tell the sore winners to lay off.

Has *anyone* on the LoveWins side said, “Chill out, guys, we have what we wanted, let’s focus on how to reach a mutually acceptable modus vivendi now”? Or even just, “Can it with the death threats, we don’t need to go to that level”? I mean, maybe they have. But it would be nice to know about it.

It was sort of a foregone conclusion that gay “marriage” was going to happen in this country. Had been granted in a less…legally disruptive fashion, I doubt our side would be putting up as big a stink. Oh, there would still be the shooting while down and griping, but there would be significantly less malcontent over the whole fiasco.

As it is, what once was the dominant ideology in this country, one which has a historical track record of being the best institution ever devised by men-or God, depending-for the furtherance of human achievement, has become a financial risk for its practitioners. Say what you will about that ideology, any country which unequally hurts, or aids, any ideology is not one where any rational person would want to live.

Is there some rumor running around in the gay community that says,

Conservative Christians bake the best cakes.

    Trust me, it isn’t true.

    (Except if they’re Italian.)

And all because they said, “I’m sorry, but no, we don’t do those.” They had served these people before, they never called them names, they never threatened them. They just refused to contract to do a specific venue. And the drama queen vindictive lesbians said they were mentally raped and had the baker’s livelihoods taken from them.

With the kind of fines being imposed, expect more search for the Christian businesses, to get that kind of pay-out, to happen.

If we didn’t know that the issue is about the owners religious beliefs regarding same sex marriage, we might think that the threat came from a jihadist. Since homosexuality is anathema to muslims, maybe the jihadist should provide twenty four hour protection of the bakery and the owner’s residence.

What troubles me is that even if a person is 100% behind making bakers bake cakes for gay marriages I do not understand how they can support a fine at this amount for such ridiculous damages that the couple didn’t have to offer any proof for.

As for harassment-the bakers were harassed at their business and home but somehow the SJW crowd thinks that harassment is okay.

Remember the elite parachuting firefighting team that died due to bad info only got $50,000 each for families in a wrongful death suit.

It will go on until a bakery realizes that their insurance would cover an accidently poisoned cake but not the fine for not baking a cake.
