Not even the Chairman of the Democrat National Committee knows.
Chris Matthews: What’s the difference between the Democratic Party and Socialist?
Debbie Wasserman Schultz: (Speechless) (Laugh)
Matthews: I used to think there’s a big difference. What do you think it is?
Wasserman Schultz: Wuh… The difference between…
Matthews: Like Democrat Hillary Clinton and Socialist Bernie Sanders?… Well what’s the big difference between the Democrat Party and Socialist. You’re chairman of the Democratic Party. Tell me the difference between you and a Socialist?…
Wasserman Schultz: (She won’t answer) The relevant debate we will be having over the course of this campaign is what’s the difference between a Democrat and a Republican.
There is no way for her to answer that question without offending some part of the Democrat base. She can’t say, “we believe in the free market,” or “we believe in capitalism.” Half the Democrat base is hardcore socialist, and the other half is willing to go along with socialism for the sake of identity politics like gay marriage and #blacklivesmatter.
It’s not that she doesn’t know the answer. She knows it and is hoping enough other people don’t know it that socialism can be enacted via stealth.
IMPOSSIBLE that Chrissie “Tingles” Matthews would ask anything resembling a hard question of a Progressive Liberal. You really should put a flag up, announcing when you’re presenting a fiction.
One will come for you in the dead of night, the other has the balls to do it during daylight hours with your neighbors watching. Which is which is for you to decide, since after me they will come for you.
Similar to #2’s point, do we classify this as a Friendly Fire Incident or a False Flag Operation?
Socialism comes in two forms: the classic Marxist form of confiscatory socialism, whereby the State owns outright the means of production and pretty well everything else and the National Socialist and EuroState form of regulatory socialism where most property is left in private hands, and pays wealth redistributing taxes, but is exhaustively controlled in its use by government regulation. Pretty obvious which one the Dems prefer.
Ha, ha, ha. BlabberMouth-Schultz couldn’t answer. Aaaah, ha, ha… yeee heee.
This was no accident. The democrats, or as i prefer to call them the progressive totalitarians are softening up the word to feed it to the kool aid drinkers. Same thing they did with income redistribution.
It does seem odd for Chris Matthews to ask a Democrat a difficult question. Maybe the plan was to give Wasserman-Schultz the opportunity to portray Bernie Sanders as the Bad Cop (making Obama and Clinton look moderate by comparison), but she didn’t receive the memo.
The other problem is that most socialists can’t define what a socialist is.
Even though it’s all right there in the Communist Manifesto.
All you gotta do is read the ten planks of socialism. You agree with those ten planks, you’re a socialist. And that’s not me calling you that. It’s Marx doing so.
Now, the difference between a socialist and a communist is subtle:
A communist believes that the only way to reach the Workers’ Paradise is through violent revolution. A socialist believes you can use the elective process to do so, although they are not opposed to a violent revolution.
A communist believes that you must be an atheist to be a true communist. (Don’t believe me? Read the Communist Manifesto. Marx states it clearly in there.) A socialist believes you can still believe in God and be a socialist.
Those are, as far as I know, the only differences between a communist and a socialist.
The difference between a socialist and a liberal is a liberal believes they can stop short of pure socialism, but shows no inkling, whatsoever, of even slowing down.
This is why DWS can’t answer the question.

Cray Cray:
What does your directive to a website have to do with socialism? Absolutely nothing. Stick to the topic or don’t post anything, liberal boy.
I’m sure you responded the same way to commenter Steve in the past.
: rolling eyes :
The difference is that at least the socialist is being honest about what he wants.
@Rdm, a true socialist wants the same thing a capitalist does: happiness for everyone. Their methods differ, however, and the socialist does not understand that their methods only bring about mutual misery.
No”. A socialist wants equality for everyone, which is not the same as happiness.
Actually, they want equality for everyone but the anointed, who are superior.
Cray:
If you want to stay off topic, go onto pinko web sites like Huffington Post, Media Matters. They will love you there.
Davinci,
You’re not attacking me because I’m off topic. You’re attacking me because you think my politics don’t align with yours.
You’ve never once reprimanded Steve for being off-topic and he does it almost every other post.
And he posts way more on here than I do.
The difference is that socialists are honest about what they really want. Democrats can’t be. If they were, they would only win elections in places like Mass, Chicago, DC, and California.
Anyone else amused that a leftist who is shrieking that anyone whose views offend him should be shut up is whining about being told to shut up?
And notice how the leftist’s response is to shriek that other people aren’t following the rules so he shouldn’t have to follow them?
Why, it’s almost as if leftists see rules — like laws and taxes — as being things they can force on others, but cannot be used on them.
And meanwhile, CrayCray, your “politics” will never align with anyone here, because they’re not really “politics”; they’re the rantings of a selfish narcissistic lazy child who will say and do anything to get what he wants when he wants it and to hell with anyone else.
Or in other words, liberalism.
My politics do align with some Conservative people here.
And you only seem to respond to me when they don’t.
Poor Debbie! Poor, poor Debbie!
